In the USA, Mother's Day is coming Sunday, May 12.
A few months ago, my mother died and this will be my first Mother's Day without Mom.
When I think about my mother, she would be the first to tell you that she was not perfect, but she always made sure that her children knew that they were loved. That is one of the most important things that my Mom gave me.
What about you? What is something special and/or important about your Mom or your relationship with your mother?

Sympathies, @rangerrickL. So hard to lose your mother. My mom passed when I was 20. Yesterday was the anniversary of her death. I still miss her so much. I hate that she never knew my husband (she would have loved him) and never met my two boys. She was an incredible woman who had no enemies and never met a stranger, even though the love of her life broke her heart and left her with two young daughters, four and one, after 25 years of marriage. She loved him until the day she died, even though he tossed her out like the trash. Every time I see a cardinal I think of her. She used to sit on her back patio and watch them at her feeders. Nothing like the love of a wonderful mother!10

@RangerRickL I'm so very sorry to hear about your mother! I'm sure that Sunday will be rough, but hopefully you'll also be reminded of all the beautiful memories you have of your mother. It sounds like she was an incredible person!! Sometimes I take for granted the maternal and unconditional love of my mother, but then I hear stories of relationships that others have with their mothers and realize that her love is definitely not something to take for granted. I hope everyone who has lost their mothers is surrounded by lots of love, comfort and support this weekend!!
@BonnieHosk85 I'm sorry to hear that you lost your mother at such a young age! She, also, sounds like an amazing person. Both you and Rick were obviously influenced by your mothers because you are here giving great amounts of support to strangers and having huge impacts on all of us!5 -

Sorry to everyone who has lost their mothers! I lost my dad 14 years ago, and I still miss him all the time as well. Fortunately, my mom is still with me! Both my parents taught me unconditional love and acceptance, and I'm so grateful to my family for being awesome. My mom nurtured my creativity and my love of reading, and she was the one who suggested University of Ottawa so that I could continue with my French. I arrived nearly 18 years ago and never left because I love Ottawa so much! My mom is my frequent travelling companion and also a lover of Harry Potter. I'm so grateful to have her in my life.8 -

@RangerRickL Very timely TED talk on the value of relationships given our mothers are the very first relationship encountered in life. The greatest gift we can give is to nurture all of the relationships we encounter in this life.4 -

Really intense strength/cardio 60 minute class. My calories are still too low but I’m working on it.
My mother drives me batty but I’m glad she’s around and I know she is proud of me and genuinely wants what is best for me.
Happy Mother’s Day tomorrow to all of the mom’s in the group! I’m sure your kids are proud of your hard work.4 -

Sorry to hear you lost your mom recently @RangerRickL, and @BonnieHosk85 and @ForAmanda222, and your dad @fitphoenix
I lost my mom 17 years ago, and miss her still. I could do no wrong in her eyes.
There are not many people in the world who love us unconditionally, it’s hard losing any of them.
@KrazyTwinMomma get better soon. I was sick all winter and finally got better only when I got selfish about getting enough sleep, put a humidifier beside my bed and downed the water. Hope yours goes away quickly.4 -

We are all going to a wedding tomorrow.

My second non-pass day! I am on a roll!! 😆
I know why though, it's coz MFP/Garmin doesn't steal back the swimming calories coz the HRM doesn't work under water, if I hadn't gone for the swim I'd be reporting another pass day.7 -

Pass for 9th and 10th. Just wrote a long post to explain which has disappeared into MFP nowhereland - maybe the Internet thought was too much of a boring sob story. Anyway. Onwards and upwards.
Sorry to all who have lost loved ones. Sending love and strength. xx5 -
Second pass day, pretty sure the office cake put me over in calories. It's from my favorite bakery and i enjoyed every bite. Did two long for walks but im sure it wasn't enough to offset the calories.4
