Hello All. I am 37, I had my last child a year and a half ago. I am now 80 lbs overweight. With a desk job, a recent baby and a horrible relationship with food it’s been a roller coaster. I am looking forward to accountability and connections. Here is to s great May.8

My first Challenge! Will try to do my best!5
-
I’m so excited to have found this challenge! I’m rapidly approaching my 50th birthday weighing the most I have ever weighed. My weight has yo-yo’d for most of my adult life. I’ve had a lot of success in the past with weight watchers but I’m not a big fan of their newer programs. The most success I had in the past was while being part of an accountability challenge on the old weight watchers boards so I was really excited to find this group. I have 60lbs to lose so I hope to be around for a while! I look forward to getting to know everyone and to give as well as receive support here. I’m heading into May feeling more optimistic than I have in a long time!6

I wanted to.do this challenge for the 1st time in April. But guess what? I ended up getting really sick for over 2 weeks and it completely derailed me. So, onward and upward in May!6
-
I did this a few times last year and it helped keep me on track. My next powerlifting meet is at the end of June and I’ve got 10 pounds to lose to get back to my competition weight so some accountability is needed! We got this!6

Looking forward to another UAC challenge month! Made the circle in March, id like to do it again for May, and am aiming to drop 6-8 lbs. Time to set some concrete goals.6

I’m back for my fifth month. I’ve made the winner’s circle twice and I’ve lost an average of 5lbs per month just by doing our three simple but hard to accomplish steps!
My husband and I both started on our weight loss journey in August and while I have kept trucking straight, he stalled out a few months ago.
Last week he finally had his moment where he realized that he had stopped weighing and measuring his portions, wasn’t tracking and was eating too many calories. His weight had flatlined even though his exercise level is high.
DUH!!!!!!
I’m so thankful for UAC for keeping me on track and helping me reinforce healthy habits for life.5 -
Hey everyone!! This is my second first time. Lol. I started last month but on April 3 got very sick. By mid-month I was still sick and left the challenge. But it's May 1 and I'm healthy, the sun is shining and I'm going to crush my goals this month!!!
I'm a 38 yr old mom to 3 yr old twin boys. To say life is crazy around here is an understatement. I welcome anyone who wants to be friends. The more the merrier I say!!!
Let's do this!!!7 -
Hi,
I'm back after a long break, plenty of reflection and a little therapy and feel I'm in a place to make getting fit work this time. UAC helped me before so I'm back. Day 15 of my MFP streak, and my goal is not to break the chain.
46yr old on the North Yorkshire Coast.
Best wishes to you all with your goals.

Hi y’all. First-timer to UAC, but serial dieter/MFP. Weight is highest it’s ever been, and only gotten worse in last 2ish years, so working hard to lose 50 lbs and regain my health.
Hoping UAC will help keep me on track. Been tracking w MFP for 2 weeks now and have already lost 6 lbs, so I’m encouraged. But I’ve been down this road before: good for a few weeks, get stressed, fall off the wagon and back to old, bad habits.
Hopefully this time I’ll get it right.7 -
Hi am first time in the group can i still join.
MFP helped me alot want to do get back on the wagon.1 -

Hello! I am a 53 y.o. female. I routinely hike, walk, run, and do Les Mills classes. Two years ago my weight unexpectedly ballooned within 1-2 month span (ie: about 20 lbs) and I developed prediabetes and high blood pressure. I felt like it put me into fat storage mode. I was inactive at the time and a workaholic (sitting at a desk 12-14 hrs/day) on a long multiyear project. So I started doing Les Mills body pump classes 2-3x a week, more regular exercise, and replaced some of my protein servings with black beans and scrambled egg whites with salsa (fiber and lean low cal protein) and my blood sugar is normal now as a result. I lost over 15 lbs and have normal blood pressure too. Exercise was key. Now I want to reduce another 10-15 lbs and need to address some patterns of behavior that still need work: reduce number of restaurant outtings and takeouts, and lifting weights in addition to cardio only.
Good luck to everyone!6 -
Hi this is my first month here and on MFP I joined 24th April weighing 336lbs. I've been heavier at 358 but lost to 336 doing the high fat low carb. It gave me easy seeming success but i went back to carbs and then when i tried to re start my body was having NONE of it and no weight came off and I'd pretty much given up for the last couple of years. When I turned 45 on March 27th I got desperate. My mom died at 47 from a stroke and she was overweight though there was another cause but even so it scares me. I have a 7 year old daughter. I've been dieting since I was 11. I remeber starting my diet to get ready for high school and I've just gained over the years through the restrict then binge cycle. There were foods I wasn't allowed to eat any of or much of but now for the first time I could eat 2500 cals of chocolate if I wanted to - of course I haven't done that- it's all psychological isnt it x it's been years since I've worn a skirt or dress- it's been stretchy black trousers for probably 10 years. Anyway I am actually feeling very positive and hopeful for the first time in a long time. The scales say I have lost 4lbs since I started and I think I would like to try and lose 5 more lbs this month through this challenge so I'll let you know how I get on. Sorry it's such a long post I'll only do one of these and it's here x The encouragement I received so far has been incredible x Thank you from the bottom of my heart x journeying together x5

@amybhunt1965 Welcome to UAC's May Challenge. How is the challenge going for you? This is my second month incorporating accountable habits into my routine. While I did not achieve the coveted winner's circle in April I am pleased to share that I kept on trying! The May challenge is on, hope to see you post each day.1

Hi all! My mom and I are trying to not fail at life, and this seems like a good place to start. I have a 13 month old daughter, a 50-ish hour/week career, a small Etsy business, and a household to run. I'm very goal oriented, but I need the tough love accountability that I can't find within my household (I do what I want!!). I had some success with MFP challenges a few years back, so I'm trying to kick start my loss again. If anyone in a similar life situation wants to be friends and act as tough love accountability partners, I would welcome that too!
I look forward to our progress this month!5 -
Holy moly! I lost 2 pounds in the first week of my very first UAC!5

New to the group and looking forward to getting back on track after a couple of rough weeks without tracking anything. Rather than wait for a new month as an excuse to delay tackling my habits I’m re-starting today 🙃 I’m glad to have found this group to help with accountability since I don’t have much of a support system beyond the MFP community4
-
Glad to have you, @mckinlau! Hope you have a great month. This group has been instrumental in keeping me on track. I'm on vacation and still tracking and getting my exercise in. Never would have happened before!3

Totally derailed - too much going on right now. Will try again in July after I have moved and settled in. Good luck everyone.2

@nynjcitygirlelaine, don't forget to come back in July! Hope the move goes well for you.0
