@MrsBell8well My brother hiked almost half of the Appalachian trail. I dropped him in Maryland (or was it Va?) and he just crossed into Maine when he had to stop. He had intestinal problems that they couldn't find the cause for months after he stopped. He also had bad plantar fasciitis . Apparently at one point in PA it is very rocky and he thinks that started it. Good experience for him otherwise. He was so bummed he had to stop. Sounds like you had a nice day yesterday! Love the stuff you bought! So pretty!

Things I bought that aren't too exciting...the scale to keep down here for when I am visiting. I am what I was at home so it seems to be accurate. I also bought a $1 mug so I didn't have to keep drinking out of paper cups at the hotel Lol! I will keep that at her place when I am done too!5 -

@cyndiesstuff - hope you are not feeling so sore today. Have you eliminated gluten from your diet or at least for a few weeks to see if the pain goes away?

Exercise - lots! 5 mile hike at a hilly state park. It was such a beautiful day, temp and weather perfect!
Today’s plan: first off after coffee I need to dye my roots...I am showing my age. If anyone wants to try a more natural hair dye I highly recommend Madison Reed. Never damages my hair! The. We are going into the cities to hit Trader Joe’s, return some shoes to Sierra Trading and hit the outlet mall. I hear there are big sales today. I’ll post tonight what I buy! It may just be gluten free crisp bread from TJ’s hahaha!

A pound down. Happy with that. I had a big joy eat at the weekend as it is our engagement anniversary. We always have champagne with Bacon Sandwiches, strawberries and cream cake. I feel a bit like a lucked out with that one. I am not sleepying well at the moment. Just poor sleep discipline make me late to sleep not good.

I am under pressure to meet some work deadlines this week so had to work late last night & probably for the next few days. Could not get running in last night but will try later today. I have been so focused on my deadline that I have not bought anything yesterday & today! Will post later in that.
@Mrsbell8well - you should continue to flirt with the half marathon idea! It is a big time commitment but only closer to race day when the long runs become pretty long. If you are running 10 k, you are almost halfway! Given your weight loss & exercise, you may have a different experience with training this time. Like anything, you find a plan that works for you and follow it. Also you can go to a running clinic or get a coach (they are online too) to help you to avoid injury, discuss nutrition & stay in track. Just a thought!
@sleepymom5 - hope that you mom is ok. It is not easy having aging parents. And omg, I love that Jen Sincero book. Have the audiobook & she got me through the last part of my half marathon training last year.

These are my irises in my front garden
This is what I bought today. It is the flowers and the vegetables that I bought. I love to garden. The gardens are too wet though. But I was able to plant my flower pots and planters.

What I bought today (well my son bought it for me!). This will help me get through my work tonight. Not a big coffee drinker after the morning, I need it now!

Recent purchases. The first is my answer to the question "what else can I do besides throw a shoe through the television at 2 AM when Wyfe has insomnia?"
And this one is an ingredient I ordered a few weeks back. I am going to make Bermuda Fish Chowder in the next week or two, and this is a wonderful garnish for it. I just have to get to the market and pick up what I need, not the least of which is several fish heads. And some dark rum. (Here's the recipe if you are curious. It is amazing.)

Didn't log this weekend but also didn't overdo it (with food). Having some homemade wings tonight with family.
Haven't had a real workout since April. The nice thing is that while I haven't lost more weight, I haven't regained any either. That's encouraging.
Gonna ease myself back to being fit. Start with yoga then add weights. I'm ready to get another 5lbs off before we leave for Montana in July.5 -

@eyesopennow You lost me at fish heads...not only fish heads but you have to cut them into 2 inch pieces...Otherwise it sounds good....The sleep mask was a necessity for me when I worked nightshift! Those and ear plugs...

Yesterday was a bit a shambles food wise but I realised that I didn't do a plan so I was eating willy nilly. I didn't over eat but I didn't make the best choices. I feel awful today. I made the mistake of watching the news. It has made me feel quite scared completely powerless and lost. There are skittles and chocolate orange segments in the kitchen. I want to hoover them up to make me feel better. I know it won't make me feel better and those food choices will make me weaker not stronger. I need to self discipline myself to be stronger and have an early night. I have told myself if I want sweet stuff I can have fruit. Maintain the mantra re the stuff in the kitchen. "It is not for you"5 -

We spent about 5 grueling hours taming the rental backyard jungle. It now looks like a park. Cutting lots of branches, tons of weeds. Next week we will mulch the backyard pathways. A bit of scrubbing in the house and it will be ready for renters. They are coming June 14th from Oregon. We affectionately call it the enchanted cottage. Although when Molly moved in with me we switched out some of the girly colors and renamed it the bohemian bungalow. But it will always be the Cottage to me.
Romance week was lovely. We ended by giving each other 5 minute foot massages. Very nice. This weeks focus is career. I have a short week and it’s ambitious. Includes cleaning and organizing the work kitchen. Goodwill and dump trip included.

Good morning everyone! I was in Ohio most of last week visiting family. I'm looking forward to getting back to my regular rountine and figure out how to get this weight off. I know the basic concept of weight loss is burn more calories than you consume, knowing it is one thing ensuring I carry it out is another. I still haven't went through the meal plan the nutritionist gave me, hopefully I will get to it this week before grocery shopping this weekend. I hope you all have a great day!! BTW I just realized today is Tuesday, sorry for the late weigh in.4

Good day yesterday. I got my exercise in before I got to my Moms. I bought a 12 pack of water and have been drinking a lot. I also got my peppermint tea. I plan to have a good day today too! I need to get a haircut and my nails done today. All things I had planned to do before I left for Florida. Tomorrow I have a 7 hour drive to Atlanta to see my friend who had the stroke. I am picking another friend up from the airport around 9pm. We are staying in Atlanta somewhere tomorrow night. We will go to my friend's house the following day. It is about an hour from the airport. I am not sure what is in store as far as exercise and eating but my weight is finally going in the right direction so I know I am not going to screw it up. Both of my friends have health issues so I know we won't be drinking and won't be having any goodies. Just meals that I may normally not eat. Good test for eating until satisfied. I also am hoping we can provide the meals while we are there so I will have a little control over what we eat. I don't know where we are staying either. If it is a hotel with a gym, I will get up early and go. If not, I will have to see what the area is like and get up and walk for at least 1/2 hr. Saturday I drive back to Florida so I can get back into my routine that I have been doing. I am staying by the beach where I stayed the last time I was down. I am hoping to walk on the beach instead of being in the gym
My Mom is doing a little better. Still weak but getting around a little better. They ordered PT and OT for her. They are also getting urine cultures. They were supposed to have been done and normal in the ER but the nurse doesn't believe it. I was thinking it could be a UTI too. I am glad I came down early though. I would have been so worried waiting to hear.

@amsandos We all have days like that. I am not good when I don't plan. Remember this is a process, we aren't going to be perfect or have perfect days. Don't beat yourself up and just learn from it. You got this!
@Mrsbell8well Did one of you live at the cottage before you moved in together? It sounds lovely! Your lucky renters! Good luck with your Career week-I know you will accomplish everything you planned for it!

I believe today is favorite kitchen tool! Since I am not home, I had to screen shot a pic of it. It is a mandolin. I always thought that was just an instrument. Lol! I like it because it makes slicing veggies so much easier and it isn't too hard to clean.4
