The photos above were taken at sunset on the Oregon coast in the Pacific NW of the United States.
I’ll be here for the next few days as we spend time hosting a couple from Costa Rica, Central America. We lived with them for one year while attending Spanish language training during 2003-2004. We will be staying near our newlyweds for a few days.
This week, I’ll be unable to track calories during this wonderful time with family and dear friends.
I’ll eat conscientiously, but no chance of qualifying for the Winners Circle in June.
No worries! My long term focus is to maintain my healthy habits as my priority.22 -

@RangerRickL, this is one of my goals ... to be able to get to a point that my choices in eating and exercising as so normal and routine in my life that even if I'm unable to track, I stay on track! I feel I have made significant strides toward this and I'm not looking to stop what I'm doing at any time, but I want to be able to know what to eat and how to move, even if it's not possible to log it all. This should be everyone's long term focus. Once the UAC habits are ingrained, this becomes easy (even if you don't qualify for circle in a month).

Over calories for today
Exercised for half an hour (brisk walk plus stairs)
Tracked really well during the day but lost it a little bit this evening.
Still very tired from my graduation weekend so am really going to try hard to stick to my calories tomorrow and get myself some distractions ready!11 -

Another great day here ... I don't know when the last time was when we had 2 nice days in a row. Maybe last fall?! Certainly makes it easier to stay on plan.

@RangerRickL, such beautiful photos! Love that tree! Sounds like you have the right mindset for forever maintenance. Like others, it is definitely my long-term goal to be mindful and stay on track without needing to track super carefully, but I know I'm not there yet. Definitely something to work towards! Enjoy your time in Oregon.

Sleep? BIG FAIL. Little sleep & had to start the day w/ coffee. BP spiked - not to a dangerous level (if only short term) but 30 pts above yesterday. Very discouraging since I had it moving in the other direction.

Note to me - Start tracking BP response to caffeine. Was it the caffeine or the lack of sleep? or both? You're not a vampire - sleep when the birdies sleep & let their cheery morning chatter wake you.11 -

Kitchen is closed. I think I mentioned how weird I am about closing the kitchen, fiber and all.
Drank - kind of put me close to the wire. 4 units.
Exercised for 1000 calories. That is upwards of 100 minutes of climb. Sometimes I think I like climb better than descent. Probably need psychological therapy for that malady. I like settling into a meandering climb and letting my mind wander.
I am going camping next week. My Little Buddy will be with me on a portion of my camping trip. I will set him up a sunshade on the shore of the lake and let him play in the water and keep him from getting too much sun. He will stick his toes in the water and splash around. I will try to catch a fish. If fishing fails we will have marshmallows for supper, well, maybe for desert.
Exercise - I didn't run my heart very tight. Kind of around 80 percent. I kind of don't go much beyond that these days. Last PR (climbing) was back in January. I got a descent PR a few days ago. I gotta back off from that. Either that or start wearing a helmet.
