Exercise yes
Had to make myself exercise again today. I'm feeling better but still little energy while my body recoups from being sick (thanks @w8goal4life for your nice message). Crazy trip back from Panama then got sick when I got back....:
Determined to not take another pass day so will carry on and not feel sorry for myself.

Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? 3 mile run outside this morning
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? Yes and slightly under
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? Yep!
@goldthistime -- Best of luck on your bike tour!
Like most here, my big red flags are stress eating mainly caused by work stress, and the lure of the weekend. I'm really trying to be better on the weekends, but I think like everyone that's always a work in progress. And luckily work stress has started to dissipate for me right now, so it's not too much of an issue right now. However, I know it can sneak up on me so I try to always have a game plan to combat it. It's hard, but I do what I can. And no matter what, I always get back up, dust myself off, and jump back on the wagon.

Boot camp, 50 min dog walk, on track with calories.
Red flag is being stressed and busy. That's when i stress eat and just allow myself to indulge way too easily.5 -

Red flags are not tracking in real time and therefore things add up and get away from me. Another is doing well for a while and then using that to justify a treat which then leads to another treat, and one more the next day..and one more.....6 -
Really inspiring to read everyone's red flags. I've gone from feeling kinda alone in the constant battle with my brain re food to feeling like it's a very normal, if not highly frustrating, thing. Thanks everyone for sharing8

When I derail, I derail completely... I’m very all or nothing which is t good because then failure, excuses, procrastination and indifference becomes the norm and I look up two years later and twenty pounds heavier and jump back in .... no pass days all or nothing until the next big nothing, which is my biggest hurdle... I’m still trying to make it a lifestyle change I’m just horrid at any type of maintenance...
I can empathize! That was a huge problem for me in the past. It has gotten much better as I quit labeling a slip (or an out-and-out binge) as a "failure" and just get back on plan as soon as possible. At first, that maybe only worked for a couple of days before I went thru the cycle again. Now, it is pretty rare. The other thing that helped was to work on figuring out what led up to the slip. Again without negative labeling.
Cocistency not perfection has become my motto!5 -

Red flags for me are not enough sleep, boredom and frustration when the scale doesn't reflect my efforts! Lately, the frustration has been big for me, but now I'm getting into my competitive mode and feeling like it's become personal between me and the scale and I WILL WIN! Also, this group has helped tremendously! I know I have goals every day and I'm driven to meet those goals because I know how much better I feel when I do!6 -

5 Pass Days
I feel like I have been away for ever, but when I count up it's only been 5 pass days, I can live with that. I even had the thought, just bail out for July, I've already blown it enough. There's that negative thinking Jan was talking about above lol. Out with the old and in with the new...I'm here for the loss!
Exercise? Yes, almost backed out of Aqua Aerobics last night....those dang excuses, it looks like it's going to storm......I was so ready to lay down for a nap....so much to do at home, blah-blah-blah. I WENT!! And of course LOVED IT. Amen
Calories? Yes, with the help of exercise
Tracked? Yes
My Red Flags: Everything lol...…..weekends seem to be my stumbling point recently. There is also the work stress when I come home and think a beer or glass of wine will make it better...……...it doesn't lol. Also like someone else said, if I don't real time track, I get away from it too easy. I really find time with family, socializing is really hard to stay on track though.
@ConfidentRaven that is an excellent description of what I was trying to word for myself. I am an emotional eater/drinker also.
@Lliggy Love the walks on the beach. I will be doing that next week!! Can't wait. What beach are you at? It looks like there might be some naval ships in the horizon there.5 -
My red flags are those days that I am stuck inside at home post-migraine or vertigo attack. Lots of self pity. The good news is that I don’t eat anywhere near the amount of calories that I would have in the past, and I usually track it all because I want an accurate calorie count. Would not have controlled myself or tracked it in the past!6

ConfidentRaven wrote: »Although I’m new to UAC, I can say what things I look for now as signs that I may go off track.
The biggest one for me is excuses. I start coming up with excuses to not move, or to eat poorly. Allowing my emotions to dictate what I eat. I’m a recovering emotional eater and if I become extremely stressed or bored I really have to watch that I don’t binge eat.
To keep on track I plan and try to stick to a schedule. I’m learning relaxation techniques and I try to keep busy.
@ConfidentRaven Everything you said sounded SO familiar because my struggles have been the same. Here's to one more victorious day, excuses-free!2 -

Pass day #2
Exercise was my "no" but my win was staying within calories.7 -
Well July 8th will be a pass!
After my really nice co-worker came back from lunch and told me she was thinking of me and handed my a pretty pink box with the name CRUMBL on it. The box was hot and smelled divine and contained the largest just baked cookie I have ever seen. That cookie was almost 600 calories!!!!! As it sat at my desk I couldn't help but keep picking at it all day. I just gave up by the time I got home. I did exercise.7 -

Such a great question @jan110144 & I’ve been lingering over all of your responses!
Red flags: Eating out a lot because I’m lonely or want tastier foods. Three of my good friends moved out of state on June 28. Another couple moved out a year ago. I did notice more eating out around the 28th, but I did rein it in once I figured out the reason.
As others have mentioned, getting too busy and/or stressed & lack of sleep make things more stressful.
But I have to add that I have never lost my enthusiasm & commitment to UAC. I pray I never do.
