Hi brittanyxxoo, Glad you joined us. I don't use ankle weights, but I think it would be fine to use them, as long as they aren't too heavy. I'm thinking 1 to 2 lbs should be fine. But... I am certainly no expert on this. I hope someone will who has used them will comment.1

I use 2.5 ankle weights quite often depending on my other workouts and how I feel.
It has been just the thing I needed to take my in home walking to the next level - along with using 3 pound hand weights which gives me a total of 11 extra pounds.
I've been using fitness walking workout for 7 years so the added challenge is nice.
I recommend warming up first or doing the first mile without them to make sure your body is warm.4 -

A safer option with less stress on the joints is going to be a weighted vest. A vest will distribute the weight more evenly.1 -

Hi ,
I just join the group I have every DVD of Leslie Sansone and I’ve been using other DVDs as well with other trainers. This summer I went back to Leslie Sansone the only time I will use ankle weights is when I’m working with my calves.
Leslie Sansone has certain tools for your ankle wrist and for your apps I only use what she uses in her DVDs.
