Back from a nice 3 days of camping. Had a spot in woods atop a knoll with view of bay. Water went out a mile and a half at low tide. DD wanted to walk out and float back on rafts but my plantar fasciitis was too sore to attempt. We paddled out at high tide and explored a remote beach one day. Nice time visiting DD DSIL & DGKs.
Lots of errands and chores today.
Have a good one.0 -
Good Morning!
Mike, I'm glad to hear that you had a nice trip. Sorry that the foot pain is still acting up.
I hurt my calf almost a week ago now. I still feel it, although it is getting better. No more running. I know, I've said that, and then stupidly keep trying to run.
I'm headed out now for a walk. That helps me stretch it some.
Later today, DS Collin and I are going to the shooting range. I have not been there for a few years now. I'm not sure why. I have a 9mm handgun, and he has a .45 handgun, and a bolt action rifle that came from Russia, and was made in the 1940s. He has never shot that rifle yet. I hope it does not break his shoulder.
Have a great day!0 -
Good morning gentlemen.
Nice sounding camping, Mike.
Sorry about the calf, Steve. I did something similar with my achilles a few years back.
I used to really enjoy going to the range. But that was back when my Uncle Samuel was paying for all the ammunition. I always qualified "expert" with a pistol, rarely did with an M-16. My poor color vision made it really hard for me to see those darn 300-meter pop-up targets. Have fun, Steve.
Going to be a pleasant 83, today, and a less pleasant 93 tomorrow. That's hot for Tumwater.0 -
Good Morning
Mike your camping trips always sound so relaxing. I am glad you had a good time!
Back from my meeting and WI. Downward trend continues for a second month. Temp spiked up yesterday so I didn’t get out got a ride. We walked at dusk instead. Nothing planned today. Heading home from a coffee stop to walk or cycle depending on DW. Things are good.0 -
Afternoon gents.
Early into work today. Had a very interesting surgical case yesterday. Dog went home today happy but minus a kidney.
Love hitting the range. Hated those 300 and 400 yd pop up targets with M16, although I did qual expert every time once out of basic. Hard to aquire the target on hot humid days and Ft Benning gave us pretty crappy rifles in basic.
Plantar fasciitis. Ouch.
Be OP ;-)

I made Expert about half the time, with my M-16. Always did when qualifying in winter in Alaska - great visibility against the snow. I used to just touch the charging handle to the tip of my nose, to get the same sight picture every time. A couple times, in winter, that gave me an odd, rectangular little frostbite blister on teh tip of my nose, from touching the cold metal. Qualified Expert with both the M1911 and, later, with the M9. The 1911 fit my hand better, but some of them were so old they rattled if you shook them. Good times.1
