Some of you have been with this challenge for months and some are brand new. This is one of the hardest challenges to stay with throughout the entire month. FOCUS, FOCUS, FOCUS!! Log every BLT (Bite, Lick, Taste). Stay strong and true to yourself....YOU WILL SUCCEED!!
Please feel free to share as much information as you feel comfortable sharing about yourself with the rest of the group. I look forward to getting to know all of you a little better.
GOOD LUCK!

RangerRickL, I am SO glad you have this challenge. It has really done wonders for my self-control, I don't want to have any "no" days! Can't believe the September Challenge is almost done. Thanks!4

I'm in for Month #10! Looking forward to it!2

I have joined and ready to focus again, I had a month holiday over seas and have been back 2 weeks and still having trouble getting the head back into the game. I had lost 19 kg but have put 5 back on over the month away and the lazy 2 week back at home.. I do Keto and a 20:4 fasting plan. Looking forward to talking to you and posting my proof each day.5

This will be my first time joining the challenge. I've been in a real downwards spiral for the last few months with losing then gaining then losing and gaining so I need something to help me get back on track. I've lost over a stone and half over the past year but things have slowed down completely so I'm looking forward to this and seeing what I can achieve.8

Thanks RangerRickL. Closing in on my first challenge without a pass day so far - never thought that would happen! This challenge has really helped me to stay on track in more than just the 3 challenge areas; the discipline spills over to other areas in my life. So, a great big win! Bring on October.3

Welcome to returnees and newcomers.
And a thousand thanks to our leader, @RangerRickL for helping us stay accountable.
I’m Terri from Northern Ireland. Back for my 12th month. Working on improving my fitness and health. Made the Winners Circle 11 times so far, and aiming make it an even dozen.
Goal for 2019 is to reach maintenance. Weight has been steadily trending downwards.
UAC is a good place for anyone to start the practicing of new habits, in a supportive and encouraging atmosphere
Just a few details on my journey to health and fitness.
Aim for 2019 ~ reach 152Stick with the process. It DOES work! But it does take time, effort, and most of all, patience!
Aim for each month ~ Weigh less at the end than I did at the beginning
I am FOCUSED on heathy food choices and DETERMINED to achieve my goals!
Age: 73; Height 5’2”; Female
SW: 227lbs (Mar 2014)
LW: 153 (Oct 2016)
UGW: 152 (this May change when I get there 😂
CW: 157.2- I have tended to bounce up and down between 160 - 170. Occasionally I bounce up/down a little more.
- My ideal situation would be to be around 155, to allow me some wiggle room for holidays/celebrations, hence my goal for 2019.
- I use CI/CO and exercise for extra calories.
- Logic would suggest that I have found a natural comfortable weight, and, according to modern BMI calculation, I am in the upper range of normal for my age and height. However, logic doesn't always dictate our desires and feelings. 😂
- Getting and staying healthy and fit requires the development of a permanent lifestyle reset.
- Replacing unhelpful habits with more useful ones is key to to the process.
- Losing weight is only one of the elements.
- Eating healthy and staying actively is not OPTIONAL, but an ABSOLUTE ESSENTIAL.
THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieving permanent change.
REMINDERS One or two thoughts on weight which might give heart to some of you.- Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be several lbs a day for no apparent reason.
- A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
- Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
- The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
- Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
- The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
- When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
- Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a permanent lifestyle change for most people.

I need all the help I can get at the moment. After being out of my chosen training for 7 months already (broken arm, followed by kidney donation surgery), I had planned to be phasing back into martial arts now, but am instead starting rehab on a new problem (frozen shoulder). I need to build arm strength and flexibility while working on my fitness in other ways than my preferred grappling, which is frustrating. However, summer is coming and I will make the best of it within my limitations and do what I can while making healthy food choices to get back to fighting weight for when I can get back on the mats (about 10kgs to lose).4

Looking forward to October. I had a goal to loose 5 lbs for September and fell very short, barely maintaining. I had a vacation built around food, so maybe I was too ambitious thinking I'd loose.
No getaways planned for October, and cooler weather means much more opportunities for long dog walks, runs and workouts. I want to make the circle this month, AND attempt those 5lbs again!4 -
Hi everyone, I am looking forward to this challenge, I am presently in a 28 day challenge and these are great motivators. My reason I am doing MFP is mainly vanity and want to use some of my smaller wardrobe.2
-
I welcome the opportunity to hold myself accountable. Thank you for the opportunity!3

Hello all, i'm in little ol' New Zealand and this will be my second month here on the UAC
Daylight saving starting this weekend here = longer daylight hours, and traditionally warmer temps will make it a bit easier to get out and about outside - can't wait!
My goal for Oct is not far off - get under the 150lbs mark and stay under.4 -
I'm in! Looking forward to October and the start of this challenge. Ultimately I'd like to lose about 40lbs but for October I'd be happy with anything in the 5-10lb range and improving my fitness with a bit of daily exercise! Also, anyone is free to add me as a friend! Thanks and see you in October!3
-
I'm in too! These people really help keep me on track! I couldn't do it by myself! I don't find it easy to stick to maximum calories, do daily exercise and log it all, but this challenge and the support really helps.4

After eight months straight in UAC I took September off. Lol after two weeks I missed it terribly! I periodically stopped and read posts, especially NSV day.
September was super busy- I changed brokers in real estate, doubled my gardening business (lol crazy at the end of the season), just had my last Farmer’s Market, there was a birth and a death, my step daughter started college... lol in general LIFE was going on!!!
Amazingly I kept logging, I made it to the gym most days, I kept moving and most days I was under on calories. WOW- eight months of UAC carried me through. I have healthy habits! It takes effort but I know I’m worth it!
Ready for October to start!4 -
Hi! This will be my first month taking part. A few years ago I lost 6st (84lbs) through MFP, but university and grad life happened. I weighed myself for the first time in over a year recently and had gained back up to 180 so now am trying to build healthy, sustainable habits while losing weight. I’m 5’4, 24 and aiming ultimately for around 120.
October is going to be a busy month for me with friends visiting and work functions but I am determined to stay accountable! Looking forward to meeting all of you and succeeding with you.4 -
I am ready to get back at it in October! September was a disaster (but fun.) Four extended social weekends where food was always right under my nose. I was able to keep the damage to a dull roar thanks to UAC9.19, but it's time to refocus now. Yes, there are social weekends in October! Even so I will be striving for a winners circle.5

Welcome new people and welcome back to those who have been here awhile.
I’m looking forward to October partially because the temperature is supposed to finally drop. We had a really warm September with most days being close to 100 for heat index. All the kids birthdays have passed and other than Halloween (which is my anniversary) I have nothing special going on.4 -
Hello everyone! I am new to the group- excited to be here! I've been an MFP member since 2012 and have successfully lost weight in the past but have never been successful at keeping it off. My hope is that this time, I can develop healthy habits for not only losing weight, but maintaining my weight! I started my current weight loss journey this January at 195 pounds and have lost 26 pounds so far (168.4 lbs). My goal weight for this challenge is 160 pounds and my ultimate goal weight is 125 pounds.
Also- please feel free to add me as a friend! I love seeing your progress and we can cheer each other on.5 -
I'm grateful that this challenge is continuing on. I think it has had a lot to do with my feelings of success these last five months. I've lost the 15lbs that I regained in the winter, and I'm at a pretty good weight now (132lbs, 5'5"), but my body fat % is still high (32%). I've read that 28% is ideal for my age, but I don't know how much lower I am willing to go on the scales before just trying to maintain the weight and attempting recomp (apparently difficult at my age, 58). A very small deficit and lots of strength training is what is called for either way, and I know that UAC is most helpful in meeting those goals.
Good luck to everyone here, whatever your goals may be!3 -
Hi!
Excited to be part of this group. I lost about 60lbs 2 years ago and slowly have been regaining (gainged back 40). I have been little quitting on myself and it's time to change that. Yearly vacation in Cancun coming up in June and I do not want to feel like I felt last June.
Good luck guys!3 -
Welcome newbies and oldies. I have maintained my weight and a regular exercise routine for a couple of years but then I started to slip up. Things can go bad quickly when you have a desk job and no plan! I felt that downward spiral starting to grab me and I reached out to this group for something to hold on to. So glad I did!4
-
I am so glad to be part of this group! I have been gaining and losing the same 30 pounds for the last 10 years and I'm ready to take it off for good. My hope is to develop lasting diet and lifestyle habits that will stick:-)3
-
Hi, this is my first Accountability Challenge. I’m in Australia and trying to lose a little weight as we head into summer. What I want out of this month is to start and keep a daily exercise habit, and to ditch the wine drinking which has crept into my life too much.2
-
Hi! I need to lick these last ten pounds by my 33rd birthday. Please add me! I've been a part of MFP for a long time, but I'm tired of the remaining goal being out of reach.4
-
I really need this! I tend to lose interest very quickly - that's something new to me when it comes to my eating & fitness habits. I hope this challenge would keep me in check4
