    Mornin' gents.

Back from 3 day road trip to NY for a field trial. No ribbons this time. Very educational though.

Prayers for Rita. Tomorrow is surgery day, right?

    How was the movie, Steve?

    Be OP ;-)

    Good Morning!

I wrote a response earlier, but I must not have saved it.

    Prayers this week for Rita.

The movie was very good. We saw a little park dedicated to Tesla when we were in Niagara. I like "history based" movies. I thought it was very good. Very little cussing and no sex, so most of the modern world will not care for it.
The movie was The Current War, which is about the race to electrify the U.S. with either Direct Current (Edison), or Alternating Current (Westinghouse/Tesla).

After a 4.5 mile walk in the woods yesterday, I burned brush. I overheated a little, and generally over did it. I burn one of two piles, and got started on the second when I ran out of gas. Ugh! I feel good about what was accomplished. I'm certainly not 40 anymore, or 50! Dang I hate that aspect of getting old.

I made a kick butt apple cake last night from scratch. It is awesome! It was fun to putter in the kitchen.

    Have a great day!

    Good morning gentlemen.

Rita's surgery is Wednesday. She starts doing anticeptic scrubs scrubs tonight. Repeats that tomorrow night and Wednesday morning.

We attended our church's annual pumpkin carving potluck, yesterday. Lots of fun. And I was pretty good on the potluck side, too. Had a pretty small plate and no seconds. Got several requests for the recipe of my macaroni and cheese, though. Good for the ego.

No leaf burning out here. That has been banned for many years, to protect air quality. With the Cascade mountains to the west of us, smoke an polutants get trapped. We don't want to look like the LA basin in the 1960s, hiding under a brown cloud of smog.

Yeah as Dave said yesterday "our" Ducks won on a last second field goal 37 to 35. My WW leader for an early Sunday morning had a substitute in for her. She went to the game in Eugene. Nice! And yes Ts and Ps for Rita and her procedure.
Congrats to Mike and his DGS game. Oh and Thanksgiving really is when we decide it should be. I learned that from one of my super nice calligraphy teachers. She got tired of the hassle of different kids being different places due to conflicts from in-laws etc so would always pick a date near Thanksgiving when all could come. Not a bad idea.

    Good Morning

Like Dave leaf burning has been a thing of the past for a long time. Besides there is enough burning around here already. Winds have died down today thankfully. Several small fires broke out just north of here besides the big one in Sonoma County. We got our pumpkins yesterday at a windy dusty pumpkin patch. Air Quality will be bad today without the wind. In another month we will start seeing measurable rain. PT this morning and then some rest. I awoke around 2 with a backache, upset stomach and just got up. At least I am able to watch the WTA Finals live from China.

    Mornin'

Thanksgiving was a calorie and fat overload for me, and tracking did not happen. But nice time visiting with folks, food was delicious, and got a surprise call from DS and his wife who couldn't come-- they're expecting their first child and she's 16 weeks along. Happy news for the newlyweds (2 years married). And watched the Patriots play against the fumbling Browns, which was entertaining.

Going out for a hike this morning.

People burn brush in rural towns at certain seasons here, but not in the suburbs and cities. I remember as kids watching my uncles smoke cigars while raking leaves into lines along the roadside and burning them all day. Ultimate recycling system--trees take minerals from the ground and carbon dioxide out of the air and turn it into leaves and wood; when they're done we reverse the process.

    Good Afternoon,
    I like to mulch leaves with mower, slows erosion and helps improve the ground;
Neighbor when we lived on lake would rake and blow his leaves over in our yard to burn them which irritated me because it would leave spot in yard without grass plus he burned bark off several trees causing them to die; and folks wondered why I said they were neighbor from hell. Folks who purchased our home ended up putting a chain link fence all the way down to lake.
    Enjoy the Day,
    Sam
