I've been leading this group and reading posts for about 4 years. I truly enjoy each one of you. The more transparently you share your personality, the more fun it is for me...and the whole team. Yesterday, @Dory_42 wrote a post that you really should read., I never expected to encounter this line in a UAC post, " It is all about embracing your inner swamp monster."
Go back and read her post.
Dear Dory, Thanks for being you and caring so much about what you do and those you serve!
Your friend, Rick10 -

Exercised?: Yes (5 km in 41 mins - hills)
Calories?: Yes
Tracked?: Yes
Early walk tomorrow. Forecast to reach 43C (109F) tomorrow by 5:00pm.
Wife and daughter visited mother-in-law today. I stayed home and worked (and walked).
@RangerRickL. Originally skipped the wall of text by Dory_42, but did read it (and like it) before you mentioned it in the intro. Great story. Dory does work way harder than what I seem to. Can only image how much it took to clean up afterwards with all that algae.

@RangerRickL Thank you for the kind words. My life is far from boring and I'm one of the lucky ones who gets paid to do something they are passionate about.
Today started off much quieter. Yoga class was yin because so few people arrived which was great and then I spent most of my 2 hours at the vet reading. We euthenazed one of our snakes which involves lots of waiting and I always have a book on my phone for waiting periods. It was better than just watching the snake die. Proper lunch break and then worked seal for show and tubed the puppy. Meet a friend for coffee and went to Jiu Jitsu. Didn't have the energy though so went home for a quite evening but got a call that I needed to be back at work in a couple of hours to put the tracker on our elephant seal. So after supper and a shower I had back. In between getting the elephant seal tagged and ready we had to tube the puppy and then give him glucose. We suspect he is a premie as he is tiny and keeps fitting. We are even sending him home with someone to get formula in the middle of the night. He urinates when seizing so I needed to shower again when I got home.
Need to be at work for 4:30 in the morning to load the elephant seal and head to the harbour. Then a good portion of my day will be spent at sea! Normally I don't do much with outside of work hours but in stranded season anything goes. This week alone I have worked an extra 8 hours, a full day I can take off another time, to add to my other 200 or so hours. The trick is finding the time to take off..6 -

@Dory_42 you have a very interesting and challenging life.
I'm still sitting on only one pass day so far but this Sunday is our big party here for my husband's family and I'm not going to bother logging so that will be number 2. If I can make it through Christmas Eve and take my 3rd pass day on Christmas I'll make it this month. Honestly, I don't really plan on making it but it's nice to be accountable this time of year even if I blow it one more day than I should.............lol
I haven't gained any holiday weight this year, even lost about 5 lbs since Nov. 1 and that's with a lowered calorie burn due to injuries. I credit this group challenge for keeping me out of trouble!
Thanks to everyone who participates and shares their stories!5 -

Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? Yes, 37 minutes of Gilad...and shoveling snow only once today after last night's snow squalls. Thankfully, no more snow in the forecast until after Christmas. Hubby is, presently, in physical therapy for cervical spine issues. He, previously, had back surgery and neck surgery (2005 and 2006, respectively) for degenerative disc disease and spinal stenosis, so thought best I relieve him of snow removal duties for the sidewalk and driveway until the current issue has subsided. I don't mind being outside; but since I don't know how to use the snowblower, the shovel was my only option.
