Another good day on lower dose of pred.

Springing forward didn't mess with us too much. DW automatically gets up at 3am, so yesterday she got up at 4 am. I congratulated her on sleeping in, LOL. I actually slept in until 6am.

Going to start veggie garden seeds this week. Got a grow light system in my basement set up. Will transplant to peat pots before moving into the ground mid May.

Almost hit 60 degrees here yesterday. So nice.

Good luck with neurologist today, Skip.

Not sure how you feel about your "non surgical" back condition, Dave. Hope you can find non surgical relief.

Get those plants cut back, Bill?

    Be OP ;-)

    Good Morning!

I felt like I had a rough night sleep last night, but my machine gave me a "perfect score". Yes, my smart CPAP keeps score. Ugh!

Skip, I'm sorta with you this morning. I see an old school merry-go-round spinning fast. As kids, we'd grap a handle bar, and hang on for dear life. That would be today.

Rain in Kansas/Missouri. We'll take it.

Prayers continue for skip, and an awesome consult tomorrow.

    Have a great day!

    Morning.

Kind of dragged through yesterday for some reason; dozed off a lot despite 8 hours of sleep. Better this morning. Will be hiking with local senior group this afternoon. They plan to stop afterwards at local icecream place that reopened yesterday... might skip that.

Skip, good luck with your docs tomorrow.

That would be most days for me, LOL. LOVE the analogy.

When you say "rough night sleep", did you wake up several times? Or do you just feel "meh" this morning?

Just got back from morning hike with pups before heading into work. Kicked it pretty hard and breathing normally and no fatigue. Optimism is growing.

    Good Morning

No the plants didn't get cut back. I had a rough day back wise especially after church, lunch and a trip to the feed store. I ended up resting and icing and trying to get comfortable until things eased up a bit. I have another set of Facet Joint injections tomorrow but I can't say I am optimistic. More icing, etc today since I need to get some grocery shopping & laundry done. Most days, you learn to take what the body gives and work with it the best you can.

Glad to hear the body has settled down Sam.

    Good morning gentlemen.

The birthday was very pleasant. Dinner at the Korean barbecue was fun (I have learned that grilled baby octopud is not to my taste) but time with the grandkids was the best.

Woke up at 3 this morning, with my hip really hurting. Made it back to sleep though abd got up at 7 (though felt like 6). My Neuro appointment is in another 10 days. Hope they can come up with something.

Praying your consult tomorrow is prodictive, too, Skip. Loose hardware sounds like something that needs action.

Feeling lazy, today. I logged in shortly after getting my coffee and Lee has already posted four times.

Lee, my CPAP machine measures hours slept, apnea events per hour, leakage from the air mask, etc. I woke up several times feeling like I needed to adjust the mask, my shoulder was hurting, etc. Then when I look at the sleep report this morning, it says I scored a perfect 100 last night. What?

Mike, I don't know how new your machine is. I ordered a SD card for mine, and I downloaded some software that will let me look at the details of when I had apnea events, the amount of air pressure at the time (auto/variable), etc. The geeky nerd in me is all over that. I'm supposed to get on Thursday. Then the measurement fun begins.

Weird Steve. Almost like it didn't really record your night.

I got smote between the eyes with a thunderbolt today. I have been working hard to lose weight, exercise more, and do everything I can to get off the sleep apnea and CPAP.

And then I read a short book on caffeine. THAT is when I realized that I could be doing all of these other things, and kicking myself in the teeth with all of the coffee that I consume. I drink a pot a day of espresso roast coffee, strong. Sigh... If I'm going to do this right, I need to give myself a chance, and get off the caffeine. Heavy sigh....

Have any of you tried this before?

I cut back my caffeine, Steve. But that meant I drink my pot of coffee before 4 pm. Coffee is my only remaining vice. I will say that after that first cup in the morning, I am happy with decaf. There are decaf beans (we grind our own) that taste as good as the full test.

Or at least cut back a wee bit

Steve, definitely cut back on the coffee. I recommend (from past experience) cut back gradually, because people get withdrawal headaches and feel lousy in general otherwise. I cut back to 2 cups in the morning, and that's it. Caffeine really screws up your sleep, especially afternoon on.

I think people use coffee to energize themselves, but getting enough of the right kind of sleep will also energize them, and in a better and healthy way.
