    Morning~

All things COVID. Busy busy here.

Off to see Neurologist this morning. I'm taking his word as the final. Four opinions/treatment recommendations and NONE of them match. Shocking.

Got car professionally detailed yesterday. Guy was here 7 hours. Applied ceramic coating. It looks great. Dropping off today for powder coating the wheels. I do not like the chrome.

    Welcome Troy!

Steve - hope you are sleeping better.

I went cold turkey off Caffeine around Christmas. It was tough - but feeling much better. Despite WI this past week - down 37# today. Goal is on the horizon.

Enjoy the day! Have a former USAF Pal visiting tonight. He's now a Methodist Minister in NC somewhere. WHo'dve thunk.

    Good Morning!

    Welcome Troy!

Skip, praying for clarity with the health care provider neurologist. I hope that you get straight answers, and speedy relief.

I don't know about the whole caffeine thing. I went from 10:00 yesterday morning without. I slept like crap, and have a splitting headache this morning. I am going to have to ease into this. I quit smoking cold turkey in 1999, but I'm a lot older now, and with so many other things going on, I will have to lean on moderation. Sigh.... I think a cup to get started, and a single cup (not my regular thermos) at work, early.

    February is closed at work.

We had two inches of rain yesterday. One of the windows on my greenhouse/garden shed caved in. Always something to keep a restless soul busy.

    Have a great day!

    Mornin' gents.

I in the moderation camp, Steve. Caffeine withdrawal is real. Hope today goes better for you. That is a lotta rain.

Praying for clarity with neurologist today too, Skip.

    Be OP ;-)

    Good Morning!

    Welcome Troy!

Steve, I primarily drink decaf now. I went cold turkey about 10 years ago. It took a while to find a decent dark decaf that used the Swiss Water Process to decaffeinate. I just reordered 3lbs yesterday from Poulsbo, WA. After I retired my consumption began to drop anyway. Maybe 2 large cups a day so it doesn't matter much now.

Up at 4:30 to have a final light meal before today's Facet Joint injections. Expectations are low after the results from the one 2 weeks ago. and frankly, these have never been effective or long-lasting. I will see what they say in 2 weeks and probably kick the Dr to the curb. Nice thing is that for the next 7 hours I get to live on water and coffee. I am thankful my son is available to drive me to these things. This makes #12 for him.

I will add prayers today as well Skip for a clear path forward.

    Good morning gentlemen.

Good to see you back, Troy.

Way to go on the losing Skip. Good luck with the neuro appointment. Fun to hear about the car, too. One of these days you will start driving it, right? Had a friend buy a Vette when I was stationed in El Paso. He took it out to a lonely stretch of road in New Mexico to see what it would do. Chickened out at 130 on two lane blacktop.

A lot of the coffee thing, for me, at least, is just the habit of doing it. I don't drink coffee as a pick-me-up as much as I drink it at certain times and places, because that is what I do. Decaf is the answer there. I can drink decaf with supper, if I want, with no consequences for my sleep. That's my suggestion, Steve: replace regular coffee with decaf. You can still have that thermos at work, and you won't be tempted to replace coffee with something really bad for you, like diet soda.

Beautiful day, yesterday: cloudless blue sky and it seemed warmer than the thermometer said. Sadly, clouds return today amnd the extended forecast says rain and snow mix by Saturday. That's March for you.

    Good luck Skip.

    Welcome Troy.

Steve, what software do you use to read your CPAP SD card?

Hiked with "Vintage Vagabonds" yesterday, 25 people showed up this time. Nice walk around a reservoir on cart-roads and got up to 70 degrees. Ice cream place down the road had an hour long line, but we are all retired so that didn't matter. Moderation prevailed with a kiddy cone.

Mike, there are a couple of open source softwares out there. The big one that I see is sleepyhead. I was able to find a copy and download it, but the writer is no longer supporting it. There is a new one that replaced that, but I have it at home, and cannot remember the name right now. I should get my SD card in the next day or two. I will update you on what I find out, and give you a recommendation.

    Welcome Troy,
I learned not to ever say my kids wouldn't do something, especially when I walked in on son's school and he was going down hall on all fours barking like dog; he thought he had to be class clown. Thankfully it is him dealing with his son now; pay back is hell! Both our children say we cursed them wishing them children like them.
Hope neurologist is able to give help Skip without having to endure more pain before getting relief.
Steve, glad finally getting caught up at work; just know another month-end is only days away; glad I'm retired and though I complained I thoroughly enjoyed accounting.
    Bill hope back relaxes,
Dave, I believe stretching sessions or yoga will help with hip and lower back pain; but I'll tell you like one doctor told me "we are not as young as we use to be and our joints tend to wear out" I don't see him anymore.
Mike, you were warmer than us yesterday; prefer smaller groups for walks and hikes
DW put me on decaf a few years ago, then she learned I was getting caffeine at work; not a good scene, but still on decaf tea; and have learned not to drink tea out at night because between southern sweet tea sugar and caffeine will stay up most of night.

Jury verdict: L3/L4 fusion. Augmentation of L4-S1. Neurosurgeon thinks they found the area of nerve pain and will scrub into the procedure w/ Ortho Doc. Meet Ortho 18th to schedule. No more facet injections (they've not helped anyway).
