Yep, giving my Primary's office this morning to return my call about BP before I call again. DW says I can go through my portal and request appointments or give updates. Am working on setting up my portal now.
I was on this dose of lisinopril/HCTZ 14 years ago when I joined WW weighing 325 lbs. The main side effect I experienced was ED (gasp!). My BP returned to normal when I hit 265 lbs and I was able to wean off and BP stayed normal until now. Right now, am willing to deal with ED over potential stroke or death. Currently, other than feeling better, I am just peeing more due to the HCTZ diuretic. Once I get hold of my Primary, she may change things up.
Thanks for all the support and suggestions. You guys are invaluable.

Glad to hear your BP came down Lee. I have had some "heart palpitations" at times but probably not too serious.
Wow Mike! I too do not have a wallet that heavy.
Hang in there Dave. Sorry about the hip pains for sure.
I wish I would just sleep thru the night better.0 -
Good morning gentlemen.
Is it Monday? They all run together. Showers in the forecast, but not a lot of rain. Just a spring day. Two of the local tribal casinos are reopening, today. DW wants to drive by and see how many morons are lining up to gamble - in more ways than one. We have a full tank of gas, so we might just keep going for a drive in the country.
I have known people with wallets two inches thick, full of notes, old receipts, photographs, credit cards for multiple department stores and junk. Mine isn't like that. But it is too big to comfortably carry in a front pocket. Now, if I went back to wearing those '90s double-pleated Dockers, I could do it, but I am not a baggy pants guy.0 -
Good Morning!
Lee, I'm glad the BP is coming down. Thank you so very much for the wonderful advice you gave regarding Frankie. We have fed her chicken flavored prescription diet Sensitive Stomach for a couple of months now. Next really expensive bag of food will be beef flavor. Any time we try a different dry food, she gets the runny poops. High maintenance dog, but we love her. Yesterday was the 1st anniversary of the loss of our dog Sally Sue.
I am home from work today. We get our birthday as a holiday. I turn 60 tomorrow. That will be two long weekends in a row, as we have Memorial Day next weekend.
I went out on a 2 mile hike yesterday. Due to a couple of closed trails, I ended up doing 3.41 miles. In addition, I brought home FOUR tick friends. Those guys freak me out. I hate them! Of the four, three will still moving, so they were easy. The fourth, I found just before bed in my belly button. He came out fairly easily. I still have the willies, and every itch I freak out. I dropped my pants no less than 10 times yesterday thinking that I had something crawling up my legs.
Connie and I finished planing the garden last night. We planted zucchini, cucumbers, 12 tomato plants, and some yellow squash. We are harvesting radishes right now. We will soon have spinach and lettuce.
I was hoping to get my kayak out today. It is still cloudy and cool. High today in the 60s. This has been a very cold and wet May so far. I am frustrated with the weather.
Have a great day!0 -
Mornin'
I hate ticks too. Sprayed my pants, socks and shirt with Sawyers Permethrin and let dry to repel them. Supposedly park and game rangers use it.
Hiked two places yesterday, Harvard research forest (blackflies were very smart there) and Quabbin reservoir hills, 5 miles altogether. Both very nice places, actually, after I sprayed arms and legs with DEET.
Steve, your garden sounds nice.0 -
Morning
Ticks suck. I did chucke at your pants up and down all day Steve.
Finishing up pre-op appts this morning. Bloodwork. X-rays.
Lisinoprol had same side effects for me me Lee. Plus flushing headaches. Glad I’m on Losartan. Fewer effects.
Good to see racing yesterday.

Good Morning
That sounds like quite a veg garden you two have going, Steve. I guess one side benefit of only being able to do limited hiking is not having to worry about ticks. Today is Heather’s last day at home since she returns to work tomorrow thanks to one of the Covid sbc loans. They will take a week to clean and reorganize into more of a daycare mode around new health protocols. Today she is taking advantage of the free Covid testing center the State and county has opened to the general population. We plan to go for one last sanity drive after picking up lunch since I am finally feeling a bit better. We cancelled our vacations next month since things the last 3 days have not been good ones for me and seems overly optimistic to expect improvement currently. She wants to reduce risk factors since she is work will bring enough. Oregon will still be there.0 -
Glorious spring finally arrived to the woods here...

I would be out hiking also if we had views like that,
We are scheduled for vacation in FL beginning June 13
Lee, sounds as you need a different BP medication I take Isosorbide Mononit; prescribed 180 mg daily could not function BP 96/42 so I only take 60 mg and BP is staying around 130/80
Dave, since you are keeping up with style pull waist of pants half way down hips then wallet will not effect hip.
Steve, 60 is not sooo bad it is the beginning of the golden years; just understand it is golden for everyone else because as we age we need more doctors, drugs and aids. Hearing aids, seeing aids, digestive aids etc....0 -
...Rollaids.
Oh, and happy birthday, Steve.0 -
Awesome photo, SGM!0
