In the midst of so much loss of what was normal and comfortable, we can be defeated or we can play the hand that we are dealt with tenacity.
Even when we yearn to have the cards re-dealt.

Yes x three. Feeling really great about about ending today with a protein shake. I was so hungry, nothing I ate for dinner was going to fill me except protein! I’ve also decided on days I have a big workout day I need to up the calories. I just don’t think it is healthy for me to maintain that 1200 on a day when I know I’m burning 600-700 just from exercise alone. I will go up 1400 on those days and see how it works out. If I stop loosing at the speed I am now or not at all I will go back to it. Hope everyone had a successful day!8

Don't underfeed your system if you are working out that hard! No WAY you should be only taking in 1200 calories and finding yourself at a Net Intake: only ~500-600 calories level
MFP presumes that you WILL eat back (at least a goodly portion of) your exercise calories. You should be eating back enough to stay close to the chosen "~ X per week" average rate of change (and there is a rule of thumb chart on the "Getting Started" board for safe weight-loss goal setting based on how much you still have to lose. The closer you are to goal, the smaller the weekly loss-goal should be.
A bit of trial and error will determine whether the MFP (or alternate other tracker) generated "exercise credit" is either over generous or under-estimated. From there, you can determine if you "aught to be eating back (let's say) ~50% of the over-generous exercise credit allowance"6 -
Pass day 3.
All food logged, but not the best choices and over my budget. It was a recover from 5 day work shift day, but I did go out for a run this morning. It was tough so I walked a bunch of it, but I think I have figured out why the last few days have been so tough. I wake up with blocked sinus and think it might be because I just put my winter (feather) duvet on the bed. I don't remember having a reaction to it before, but there is always the possibility I have developed a mild allergy to it. Put the other one back for tonight to test...
9 days left for the month. I can get 9 successful days and still make the circle!10 -
Hey guys,
This challenge is harder than I thought!

Exercise: Yes, cycling - 60 minutes - not including pre and post ride
I would have done more yard work but the belt on the mower deck on the tractor was slipping. I should have stopped mowing when I became aware it seemed to be losing power but thought I could push through it. It wasn’t until I smelled rubber burning that it became apparent that I might not be that smart. That belt was not salvageable. Oh well. I’ll attach the brush cutter tomorrow and whack it all down some before I can get to John Deere.

First pass day for May.
Little over on cheese and space for chocolate since my Blue Apron cooking meal was 910 calories. My Fitbit has had issues connecting to my device the past few hours so I just closed out my diary at where it was-- so my diary doesn't include my 30 min workout but also doesn't include the extra cheese or dessert 😂
Still feel proud that I'm not over by a ton and that my first pass day was on the 22nd!6 -

Happy 900th Day, Miss Madison! Wow, I'm impressed. That's a lot of faithful logging, and a great loss as well! Thanks for the inspo to finish the month strong- I've only got one pass day left. I'm watching my hubby inhale an entire bag of gummy bears next to me, and I have 3 calories left for the day. Such cruelty I have to endure...but I WILL WIN (today anyway)!
Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? yes: 30-minutes aerobics
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? yes
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? yes4 -
@gberin It is much harder than it would seem to be. Don't get discouraged. The goal is to develop long term healthy habits not to feel guilty.

(ate all of my exercise calories)Got up early went to my usual climb.
A bit on the brisk side.
Back down into the 40s for a couple of days.
Made what felt like a concerted effort to get close to my time from back a couple of years ago.
10 minutes back from it was as close as I could get.
I have done that climb hundreds of times now.
Strava ain't going to show me my segment history of it now though.
They made that into a subscription feature couple days ago.
Ack. 50 bucks a year to see my leaderboard compilation.
I might do it.
Trail runner girls were there parked where I park.
So they were up the road ahead of me somewhere.
That somehow motivates me to a stronger effort.
See if I can catch them before they get to the top and turn around.
Nope.
I seen them when they were on the way back down.
My time looked good at that point so I said a brief hi and pressed on to the top.
They said yeah, ok, we'll see you when you come back down.
I descended at a pretty good clip but didn't intercept them till about half mile from the cars.
One of them is a hospital worker so pretty conscientious about social distance.
So we are walking and yakking spread out across the width of the road.
Talking about the summer's races that are cancelled.
Iron Horse Bicycle Classic tomorrow is cancelled.
I used to always like cranking in that.
We talked about weird new social phenomena.
I mentioned having gone to the liquor store the other day wearing my mask.
The guys that worked there were wearing guns.
Weird.
I ain't been to the bank yet.

@Hollis100 Thanks for the pic!
A big part of my journey was dealing with bad habits and Yoda shows me the 'weigh of the Jedi.
Here's one right back at 'ya.
Unlearn the bad habits we must if successful we need to become.
(And replace them with good ones).
