Hello! I thought I would introduce myself in case there is someone new or recently back like me looking for people who are also walking this hard journey of PCOS, whether or not you are currently TTC (trying to conceive) or just trying to get your body to work its best. So here goes!
I'm Hilary. I'm 28 years old - I was diagnosed with PCOS in 2013, but I didn't really know what it meant and was battling depression at the time. I was fighting for my life and had to focus on my mental health first. Fast forward to 2018, when I married my wonderful husband. I had always had irregular periods, and I knew that it might be hard for me to get pregnant but I still had no idea the fulls scope of PCOS or what I should be doing for my body other than "lose weight" and the word "keto" constantly thrown at me. I gained a newlywed 30 pounds, and my periods stopped altogether. I didn't feel good for a long time. Fast forward again to 2020 - I hadn't had a period in 500 days, and I had a migraine that lasted 3 weeks. I have not used birth control since the first month we were married, and we are about to celebrate our 2nd anniversary. I realized I needed to take better care of myself. I started this new chapter of my journey to better health on 4/16/2020. 10 days later, and my migraines were gone! Now I am learning all I can about PCOS and supplements, and have started taking Ovasitol. Let me know you found me through this post and add me as your friend. Let's get through this together!

Hello! I'm not actively TTC, but I want to lose weight before having another child so this is really my motivation if that makes sense. I was diagnosed with PCOS at 16. I now have two kids already and after my second was born started gaining like crazy-- and I wasn't at an optimal weight to begin with. I got to my largest weight ever and finally went to get checked up when I started getting abdominal pain and turns out I had uncontrolled Hashimoto's and gallstones. I got on thyroid pills and had my gallbladder removed in the third week of March. Before I left the hospital I'd lost 7 pounds, lost more slowly until 3 weeks ago I got on the scale and it'd gone up one pound-- and I was like no, I'm doing this and started intermittent fasting. Currently I'm down 16 pounds since my surgery, 5 since starting IF less than 3 weeks ago.

I'm Kelly! Been diagnosed with PCOS since high school. I'm 30 years old. Been married for 8 years and kinda sorta TTC. I'm working more on the weight loss to prepare my body, but as I get older I'm realizing I need to be more proactive in other ways too, so meeting with my OBGYN next month to start talking about options and possible referral to fertility specialist! (previous appt cancelled due to COVID). We discussed next steps briefly at my last appointment, but really wanted to lose some more weight first to try and have the healthiest pregnancy I can.
I always knew it would be difficult, but to be honest, I didn't do a lot of research into ways to manage PCOS naturally until recent years. I'm not a huge fan of meds, so right now my focus is eating foods (or not eating certain foods) to help manage my PCOS.
I've been using MFP for 5 years, and and have tracked consistently, even when eating poorly. I would say January 2018 is when I really made some significant changes and watched the weight go down, slowly but surely. My periods became more regular and I felt better. However after a crazy 2019, I gained about 20 pounds back. Since the beginning of this year, I've been working hard again to find a lifestyle that's sustainable, but still giving me results. It's still slow-ish, about 5 lbs a month, but I'm hopeful.

Hello, I'm Lena Gentile-Small. I was diagnosed in 2010. I just turned 38 and am TTC.. I just got married this past Nov. Since my diagnosis I had gotten myself down from 260 (weight at diagnosis) to 203 but this past year and half have been tough and I gained a fair amount back.
I know a lot of the weight gain is due to stress (my father passed last April, my mother moved in with us, planning a wedding and now COVID-19). I had been seeing a specialist which had been helping but I couldn't justify the out-of pocket cost anymore. I have a full bloodwork test scheduled for next month to see how much the stress has thrown me back out of whack but in the mean time I'm trying to get back in the habit of tracking and exercise.
I have done DEXA-scans in the past which helped me better understand that I do have more lean body mass (LBM) than I thought and helped me adjust my goal weight (rather than relying on height weight charts). also gave me a leg to stand on when my GP keeps telling me that for my height, 5'1", I shouldn't be more than 115. My LBM was 124 at last check, my goal is more to get in a healthy BF% than scale number.

Hi everyone! My name is Sahar, I'm a sales and marketing professional turned Realtor trying to grasp a handle on life LOL. I'm 32, I was diagnosed with PCOs and endometriosis a few years ago though I suspect I've had it years and ignored it. Unfortunately I didn't really have any tell signs (always regular periods etc) until we started TTC 4 years ago.
I was average weight through high school and when I went to college, I made really poor decisions and gained 80lbs within a VERY short span. And kept it on.
I lost 80 lbs 10 years ago (right after graduating) within 6 months (I was 22 years old). And I gained it all back, slowly at first and then with a bang. And I've been struggling ever since.
I'm 32 and would love to start a family. We'll happy adopt in the future: whether we can or can't have any of our own. Conceiving a child doesn't motivate me, I want to be healthy and live a long healthy life with my husband and possible future family!1 -
Welcome, Kelly, Lena and Sahar! I couldn't figure out an easy way to reply to each of you, but thank you all for posting and trying to revive this group a bit. It helps to know we are not the only ones trying to be healthy with PCOS. Thank you all for sharing!0

Age: 37
SW: 213.6
CW: 213.6
GW: 140 (I will take somewhere in the 160-170, though, for now!)
My weight has yo-yo'd most of my adult life between 119-205 (and now my highest CW of 213). I am ready to get serious about weight loss because I only have a few years left before I decide to say "enough" on trying for baby #2. I want to be at least 160s-170s before I try and seek help from a doctor regarding having another baby. I haven't seen a BFP since 2015 and I think my weight has alot to do with it. I was in pretty good health when I got pregnant with #1. So, I know it will take alot of work for me to get pregnant again. Excited to start getting back to a better lifestyle. Even if I do not conceive, at the very least I will feel alot better about myself.1 -
