Up with the 5:00 alarm this week, not so difficult now that I’m getting used to it.
I remember Japanese beetles from when I was a kid in CT—certain bushes just crawling with the ugly things. Haven’t seen them much here in recent years.
Well, DD Kate invited me over to their pool yesterday. DD Alison was there, too, so 7 GKs and 3 adults. I answered that my doctor says it’s okay if they wear masks. They said they aren’t wearing masks but I could sit at the far end of pool, so I thought okay. (Big pool) A huge downpour started as I got near the house and didn’t let up, so I went to the door in my raingear. Ended up inside in my N95 mask for 45 minutes with 10 people and only one wearing a mask. I’m buying a case of cloth masks to bring with me next time, so no excuses.
Went for a 3-mile hike after rain let up but it started up again with some thunder added the last hour. My foot holding up okay although ankle seems a tad sore. Will continue icing both sole and ankle for awhile and no going barefoot anymore.
DB & SIL on way back from AZ. I sent article on using public restrooms during pandemic. Pretty interesting.0 -
Mornin' gents.
Interesting history on the introduction of the Jap beetle, Bob. Love that stuff.
I use Bonide Tomato and Vegetable 3 in 1 spray (0.2 % sulfer and 0.01% pyrethrin) and spinosad spray on my vegetables and roses weekly. The spinosad is organic, the other one is not but is water soluble and can be applied the day of harvest. I tried strictly organic, but even with the jap traps, I would still get beetle damage and fungal issues.
Lots of rain last two days. Some pretty good thunder and lightening too.
Hoping PT went well for you, Skip.
Bill, jeez. Sounds like if it ain't one thing, its another. Prayers buddy.

Good Morning!
It is raining right now in Kansas City. We surely need it!
I thought that I had an itch when I was walking on the treadmill a few minutes ago. When I sat down in my chair just now, I took a look, and sure enough, I had a small tick on me about my waistline. Ugh! I HATE ticks! They have been out in force this year. This one came off easily, and is now swimming in our septic tank.
Yes, believe it or not, we are at month end and quarter end again. Super busy at work. We are more than three weeks behind in orders to ship. Our sales very strong right now.
Have a great day!0 -
Morning Men~
Mike - like you, anytime I'm out and about - 100% mask!
PT was funny if not awkward! I have a neighbor who owns his own PT practice (several in our area). I've probably had 2 conversations with him over two years around the block. Small talk/chatter. In the office he was VERY detail oriented and took time and attention to build a plan for PT. Yesterday he only wanted to focus on the sciatic and spent 30 minutes massaging me left cheek! I told him this tryst was going to make it awkward to give eye contact at future social events
You gotta laugh! I joked that their was a strip mall massage parlor next door - I expected this level of treatment there - but not here. He laughed.
HOT humid all day yesterday and today much of the same. Did manage a late afternoon dip!
Great to hear sales are strong, Steve!
4th Plans anyone?

Good morning gentlemen.
I've gone through physical therapy five times in the last 20 years. It brought real improvement twice. Hope you have a better batting average Skip.
Drove Rita to a big Philippine grocery store, south of Seattle, yesterday. Glad to get her out of the house.
Forecast high in the mid 60s, again, today. Pretty blah for the first day of July.0 -
Good Morning
PT has been my lifeline this year, she has done a great job of stemming the tide. I have never gone this long in PT before. But it is funny how I have gotten used to being half pantsed at the beginning of each session for massage. I think this is to prepare me for my later years when I wander out of the house half-dressed. Hopefully later this month I will be in with the new Pain Doc to put together a better treatment plan going forward. We started the steps of getting established as a new patient so they can request my records directly from my current Dr.
Easy day today taking care of things around the house & making calls and getting out for a walk.0 -
Happy Humping,
One yoga class down another late this afternoon
I wear mask into gym and out; we were also required to wear mask to church, they did have chairs spread out per reservations where no family was sitting within 10 feet of another.
Thankful my clock does not have a 5 am, getting up at 4:30 for so many years, now happy to get up between 7 and 7:30
Steve, month-ends and quarter-ends are the ills of being an accountant; hope tick did not bite you anywhere.
Told DB & DSIL we would not be getting together for 4th, they flew up to Michigan and back last week for a party; will be OK to see them after a couple of weeks
Last time doctor sent me for PT, therapist recommended I continued yoga and showed me a couple more poses to try that I consider stretches instead of yoga; at least could not find in book; have a few flareups now and then but overall very thankful.0
