it's a regular work day unless one is able to use annual vacation leave (not always a priority day of choice depending on your profession / total available annual vacation-leave days / how family unit tends to prioritize timing of vacation-leave use .....
..... slept in till 11:30 for the second day in a row ...... plan for tomorrow: repeat today ....
(I will stop gloating and go away now )12 -

Morning run was better than yesterday. Still do the worst Hill route but did it 2 minutes faster and walked less. Got lots of personal admin done and caught up with a bunch of friends remotely. Evening zoom Jiu Jitsu went well although we both forgot about yoga.
Good food choices which included the bread I baked. Wheat triggers my asthma if I have too much so I trying to avoid it for a couple of weeks but it's winter which means soup and bread so I got a keto bread recipe from a friend.
Under budget even if I decide to have the coconut milk hot chocolate...14 -
So I figured I'd write this down now before I either forget or get too lazy to do so later on in the evening:
I'm mapping out my plan of re-losing 35lbs, as well as setting a couple goals.
1st, I'm 150lb, my goal is 115lb. That's a pretty healthy weight for my age (22) and height (5ft).
I'm eating about 1,400 calories, I walk for an hour on days of good weather and slowly getting back into my strength training routine on days I have to workout at home, and then dabbling in a bit of yoga and cardio exercises here and there. Moderate carbs, high protein. Just enough fat. I'm starting to cut out meat/pork/chicken/most dairy, wanting to gradually transform into a more vegetarian/vegan lifestyle but at the moment I'm still eating fish/greek yogurt/whey protein powder/goat cheese. Sometimes I'll eat a little piece of meat/chicken because I still find it tasty and you shouldn't never go cold turkey on a complete food group. I'm also highly limiting added sugars, I finally bought more Stevia so I can start making my own personal desserts because lately I've been eating waaaaay too much sugar that I'm scared what it's doing to my pancreas lol.
My first goal is to lose 15lb and keep it off and prove to myself I won't gain it all back, and then I'm going to reward myself with dying my hair the color I've always wanted for years! I've had the dye put away in a cupboard for a few months now, never feeling good enough to make such a change on my appearance before actually taking control over my health & eating habits. If I don't feel good about myself because I don't like how I eat or look, dying my hair isn't going to help anything.
I wanna try to lose that weight in about 3 months, making it a 5lb lost every month. Which also gets to my next goal of reaching 90 solid days logging onto MFP. Which also means sticking to this group for 3+ months (even if I don't get to the winner's circle every time, that's not necessarily my main goal of being here).
However my goal this month IS to make it to the Winner's Circle. I've been in this group many times and quit because I "failed" (*ahem*, gave up, actually). Personally, the hardest part is exercising every single day. I've always been someone who prefers to exercise every other day. But the thing is, you're only required to exercise a minimum of 20 minutes, and that's such a short amount of time to do something that I feel there really shouldn't be any excuse to not do anything and just lay in bed or sit at the computer all day. Even if it's just yoga, or doing a bunch of active chores, it's still something that gets your blood pumping and helps burn a little calories and it's all adds up after a period of time. So that'll be a challenge I'll have to work on, for now it won't be perfect. But this time I'm not gonna quit no matter what. There are members here who seem to have stuck to this group for a couple years, so why should I only stick around for just a couple months?
This 4th of July is gonna my first holiday since starting over my weight loss journey, and I've already planned out how I'm gonna go about it. My family wants hot dogs with chili and my mom is making dessert. So, I bought myself vegetarian hot dogs (i think they're tasty especially griddled, they're 50calories each and have way less fat and sodium and no nitrates. 7g protein each too!), and instead of a white bread bun, I'm using 45calorie multigrain bread, so less carbs and that would be about 200 calories for 2 hotdogs with a slice of bread each, and 21g protein and not too much carbs or fat! I'll be enjoying that with a couple pickles (practically no calories) and no chili and some salsa on top instead. Maybe I'll have a small serving of tater tots, but no baked beans (too much added sugar, and i don't want bacon). Then for dessert I'll have a Halo Top ice cream! (1 carton has the calories and protein of a whole meal!), and I'll probably have a Diet Coke so I won't feel left out when everyone else has their soda full of 42g added refined sugars lol. Though I will be making an unsweetened ice tea made with ginger tea & infused with fresh ginger, lemon, and cucumber as a refreshing drink to sip on throughout the day.
I also have unsweetened cinnamon gum to chew when I feel like I'm gonna eat something I shouldn't, I'm always tempted to just eat whatever I want throughout the day then by the time I eat dinner & dessert I'm already super stuffed. Causing me to wake up the next day bloated and groggy. But no more of that!
I finally talked to my mom about my weight, how I feel about it, and plans of weight loss, and how I'm gonna do it. I tend to not bring it up to not worry her, but I think it was most important to communicate with her so she's aware of it and it should hopefully help in the future so I'm not always faced with having to eat too indulgently. (because i still live with my family) That itself was a goal to be honest! So I'm proud of that.
I'm quite excited for this, and being here helps because it's the only place I can talk about weight loss to. So far it's 1:45pm and I just ate breakfast and soon I'm gonna have a yoga workout then watch some episodes of Hannibal, do some laundry & art, and maybe bake myself a healthy chocolate protein cake to enjoy this weekend. Hopefully it won't rain tomorrow and I'll go walking. I also made a post in the Motivation & Support community section: https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10802347/tired-of-starting-over-time-to-just-do-it/p1?new=1
Have a good, safe day and I'll see y'all to log in my day later this evening17 -
@lowcalorielovepotion that sounds like a well thought out plan and you can keep us up-to-date on successes / challenges as you go along over the coming months in the "What's On Your Mind Today?" subthread.
It won't be for a while yet, but I will suggest that every ten pounds or so you do an MFP Guided Goal Setting reset to your (then) current weight, which will lower your suggested daily calories in very small easy-to-accept increments. (gradually lessening of you means gradually less intake needed to "support TDEE requirement while in a comma" )
And rate of safe loss might be slower than anticipated later, but fine-tuning deadline expectations are months away and you can revisit then (with full support from us who have already gone though the-end-days-and-transition when the time comes.)
I only started my " this is where I want to stabilize" back in April, and there are multiple members who are long-term maintainers too. (I'll be 62 in October, by the way)
Congratulations on taking charge and making a detailed multi-month strategy at an early age! Setting yourself up with sustainable life-time lifestyle habits in your early twenties is wonderful!

Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? Yes13 -
Yes to all 3.
Nearly a pass day. I was planning a run and just felt rubbish - I have an IBD and the fatigue just really gets to me some days. However I did a 20 minute yoga video instead and feel really good for having done it. Now a bath and lots of sleep should help.14 -

Yes x 3 for Thursday
I'm prelogging dinner and snack to keep me honest!
Tracked, on target with calories. Did a 30 min walk and 70 min of tennis. I've been doing great at not eating back exercise calories. On days like today I make sure to eat enough to fuel a good workout, and allow an extra 100 calories of protein post workout.12 -
Walked morning and evening, did yoga and leg weights. Calories within budget even though I ate ice cream. Everything is tracked.9

Did I exercise for 20 mins?- Yes. Walked moderately on the treadmill
Did I stay within my caloric intake--Yes.
Did I track every thing I ate and drank--yes.8 -
Yes x3
Although it was a weird day. I got up early and started walking at 6:15 and ended up walking for 2 hr 45 min. I walked over to Rock Creek Park and then semi-lost myself in some trails for a bit. Popped back out a few miles south of my house and walked back up to get home. Loved that I never had to look at the map while walking, though here is a photo of my Fitbit GPS map.
However I then ate 700 cal of chips 🥺
I need to not put the bag next to me of I'm going to be super hungry and salt-seeking after a long walk haha. But I still stayed under considering the exercise calories.

Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? Yes, this aft DH and I walked to the farther of the two grocery stores to pick up a prescription (and around the store for a small amount of other things) MORE than 20 minutes before getting back home. Thunderstorm warnings, so instead of usual evening outside walk did extra time on the walking exergame to make sure my total fitbit "burned before midnight" reading would be high enough
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? Yes - nicely j u s t on the green side of 1400 . Probably have a few fitbit exercise credits, but haven't re-synced in order to update MFP credits, so I won't include them in my evening snack (nicely filling enough as it is)
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? Yes

Calories? Yeah, and had around 250 left over! I'm getting used to not overeating/eating unnecessarily which is my worst food habit. Either I don't eat enough or too much.
