Watching a young gray squirrel chase Blue Jays away from bird feeder. Ha!

I should clarify. There was no preacher or congregation yesterday on the lake. Just me, Mother Nature, and my fly rod. My kind of churching lately.

    Back to work Monday.

    Be OP ;-)

    Good Morning!

Lee, sometimes that is the best kind of church. Being with the Lord needs to be both a community thing, and an alone thing.

House painters were already at the house when I left for work at 6:30. It will be very nice when they finish. I hope that the dog survives, and I hope that the wife survives.

I got my taxes done yesterday. Had to pay another $2,000 on top of all the money I've already paid. Sigh....

    Have a great day!

    Good morning gentlemen.

Looking at a stretch of nice weather. There are even several 80s in the 10-day forecast. Halleluiah!

Seems strange to hear income tax discussions in July. We did ours in early February. Have always felt I'd rather pay than have a refund. I don't need to give my fellow citizens an interest free loan.

Watched "Old Yeller" last night (our DS gave me Disney+ on Fathers Day). I'm regressing to my childhood. I still tear up a bit when Travis shoots Old Yeller.

Well Dave maybe a wetter cooler fall and winter? Who knows. They are saying for PDX maybe a slightly warmer than average temps for later July into August but maybe only a couple of degrees the next week or so. It was 48 degrees at my house this morning brrrrr. suppose to be up to 80° today but maybe more like upper 70s? 80s predicted for rest of week anyway in pdx.
I am opposite to Dave and like to have money withheld for taxes. Gosh interest rates are so low now that it makes almost no difference to have some money withheld for taxes. We did our taxes in Late Feb to March.
I love your church Lee. Nothing beats flyfishing in my book. Reminds me a bit of seeing the church of the holy molecule in the tropical rainforest, Queensland Australia.

    Good Morning

It is cooling off a bit here, hopefully down to mid-upper '80s after the third day of triple digits. No repercussions after working outback for a couple of hours which is good. DW and I had a nice drive around the Livermore Valley Vineyards, picked up a couple of burgers as she requested, and found a shaded, isolated bench in a park to sit and enjoy them. We decided to stop at a couple of nurseries that weren't too crowded to pick up a couple of new flags for the front and some local honey. A good day. Taxes are done except for the reviewing part. 2nd year I am "enjoying" the latest form of tax reform and writing a check to the Feds and getting a lesser refund from the State. I am in no hurry to give up the extra cash. Exciting day ahead of PT, baking and doing another run through my taxes hoping to find a mistake in my favor.

Lee, I agree with Steve on your kind of church. I only regret you were unable to bend the will of the pike to yours.

    Have a Blessed Day!

    Missed posting.....

Ole' Yeller - what a great movie! Haven't seen since I was much much younger!

Still trying to figure out where the weekend went. It was here and it was gone in the snap of a finger. Ugh. Gonna be a long week. PT three days this week. Still not feeling much difference. Walking is good but behind and standing from a sitted/laying position - VERY uncomfortable. I fear putting on underwear each day - lifting me left leg is a "hit and miss" task. Somedays it cooperates; most days it doesn't.

Glad taxes are done. There has to be a better system!

    cheers,
    Skipper

Good afternoon. Still haven't started taxes... I still got a refund last year, but much less than previous.

Finally got my bike out this morning. Only 4-1/2 miles on a bumpy dirt road with small hills, but felt good to be out in a wildlife area. Passed a nice beaver pond loaded with white water lilies. Instead of rear hitch rack just slid it into back of SUV. Can keep it there most days instead of hauling up and down 2 flights of stairs, so maybe will go more often. First real workout in cycling shoes, seeing if plantar fasciitis affected, so far so good. But can't get used to new fangled crotch-saver seat; it was second hand from bike shop and is pretty old--maybe newer models more comfortable.

Making bean & vege soup this afternoon. Maybe will dig into Turbotax.

DD is in the air, flying home from Bali. Won't arrive till Wednesday. Staying a few weeks in Maryland then coming home, maybe to stay awhile this time...?

Have a good rest of day.
