    Morning~

Well - baseball is (sorta) back! It was a great showing (11 strikeouts by our MadMax) - but the Pinstripes were too much for us....rain shortened event. Ugh. Thankfully, I was able to watch Denny Hamlin win a race in Kansas....

TGIF... Gonna get haircut today and despite the rain, hope for some pool time late afternoon.

    Whats everyone doing this weekend?

    Mornin' BBB.

Yep, I was getting ready to fall asleep when the rain stopped the game. Too bad really. Seems like a cheap win.

    Happy belated B-day to Rita.

Had a nice convo with a Latino Uber driver yesterday while we were waiting for our passengers' bus to arrive. Sadly, he and nor passengers masked up when they arrived. DS#2 said he was the only one on the bus wearing a mask. I tried to get him to rent a car, but he hates driving in city traffic. So he rode the train and then Metro-North put him on a bus for the final leg.
A train used to come to that station, but I guess too few passengers, so its now a bus. Felt bad for DS#2.

It was so humid yesterday. More of the same today.

Such a cool event you have planned for your DW, Skip. I'm in the same boat as Dave on the birthday gifting with DW. Maybe its because we are on the wrong side of 59.

    Good morning.

My SIL has Covid. She was on her way to visit DMIL (a long journey) and her husband called her when she was 20 minutes away from DMIL's house to let her know the test results had finally come in abs were positive. She'd taken the test on a whim last week!

Things like this remind you that divine intervention is real. My 85 y/o MIL is in good health, but still...

    Good morning BBB crew.

Had a fun dinner with DS, DDIL and the grandkids, last night. They brought over Indian takeout and a cake from a local bakery. The grandkids blew out Rita's candles. Always fun times.

Rita wants to take a drive, somewhere, today. She is really getting cabin fever, seeing the yard and neighborhood, and nothing else. Don't know here we'll end up.

    Morning gang

Well wishes to SIL. Glad she get the results in time.

Today is our last full day in Utah. We will do housework and mow the yard. Not sure when they will be home tomorrow but I'm guessing after lunch.

We plan to drive to my sisters maybe staying all night on Wyoming. Spending the week in Nebraska then onto Texas. This will probably be the last stop in Nebraska for awhile so need to grab anything I'll need for the rest of the year. Having the bikes on the rack will help with room/ convenience of getting to stuff.

    Good morning BBB Friends.
    • Divine intervention indeed Lou. Hopefully your DSIL will stay asymptomatic and can self quarantine. How's Cecelia adjusting to the Lone Star state?
    • How about a ride to Port Townsend Dave?
    • So the Braves start their unusual baseball season this afternoon. I was going to say it should be interesting. Actually, I hope it is interesting..
    • I hope to get a breakfast ride in with my biking buddy tomorrow. Have to get home before the summer afternoon heat hits.
    • Enjoy your family time Mary. You too Lee.

Skip, I got a kick out of some of the new rules for baseball including an automatic man on second base when the game goes to extra innings. The real killer that tickled my fancy is no more arguing with the umpire, period. I could see the potential danger doing a face to face yelling contest. What are managers going to do?? Baseball is arguably the best refereed sport anyway along with tennis. You would think with the new cameras that balls and strikes could also be called more uniformly similar to tennis cameras. It was fun watching coaches get thrown out, I'll give ya that. Soccer is by nature the worst officiated sport followed by football.
Oh no Lou sorry to hear about your SIL.
Hey Dennis enjoy biking. I had a great early morning ride today seeing raptors and a bald eagle along the way. I hear ya about the heat. Suppose to get to maybe 100° Sunday and Monday here. Yikes. Been chilly today in the mid 50s early and only mid 70s later. It will be a shock for sure.

Did get little less than 1/4 inch rain yesterday, maybe this evening
DD said she may come out this weekend and stay a few days; since she works from home can be anywhere.
Hope all have a GREAT weekend

    Good afternoon
Hi bob. Miss hearing from you.

That stinks for your sil Lou. Wonder if it was a false positive? Who knows.

Not a huge sports fan. I like football that’s about it.

Steph, you mention Texas, any chance you’ll meet Lou?

Dave, hope you and Rita enjoyed your ride. Her birthday sounds great.

So here, a birthday is a national holiday and I like that.

I have a headache and it has a name. Ha.

Last night I made the owner of the steak house a pot pie. We dropped it off and had 1 drink. Came home so I could fix dinner. As soon as it was started electricity shut off! Our steak house had no electricity either. We ran downtown and grabbed dinner. So, tonight is now chicken with homemade Alfredo sauce over fettuccine. Mom is coming here for dinner.

Too hot to fish. Milder temps today though. Humidity isn’t killing us. Kind of nice actually

I’m drinking an IPA now. Happened upon a terrific Sauvignon Blanc last night. We will have that or Italian wine with dinner. Heck, maybe both. It IS Friday!!

Gotta work for a tiny bit tomorrow

    Have a great evening peeps.

Friends brought Cakebread Sauv Blanc to a Pool Happy hour recently. I've never been a big fan. This CHANGED my mind.... WOW!
