Morning Gents~
Continues to be sweltering here.
SGM - recalling those days wearing double-knit dress "A" uniforms standing erect at Arlington Cemetery in this heat brings back memories! You've never been more in tune with your body until you feel EVERY bead of sweat in places not mentioned in public! Waterboarding? HELL YA! That one bead of sweat that would sit on the lobe of an ear or the tip of your nose and you couldn't move was enough to drive me insane!
Good luck with bathroom projects, Steve!
Fun day for AB and Babe! I'm sure they enjoyed the swim!
Long week for me....boss is on leave so its double duty....
Cheers,

Mornin' gents.
Hang in there Skip.
Yes, they enjoyed the early morning swim. Especially Tess. It is easy on her old bones and she loves hunting frogs along the edges. Babe is all business with the retrieves, hounding me for the next one.
Hoping we get significant rain today. Yesterday not so humid, got over 90 degrees but didn't feel so oppressive.
Oh yes, I remember some of the class A formations in the Oklahoma and Georgia heat.
Prayers for your back pain, Bill.
Be OP ;-)

Good Morning!
Sam, thank you for the awesome tips!
Skip, you tell a great story. I have not experienced what you have, but I can sure imagine it in my minds eye.
Connie spoke in Leavenworth last night for MADD. It went well. One of the DUI offenders was the child of old family friends. He knew Jacob and Stephanie well. I imagine that last night was particularly difficult for him. The room that we were in last night is part of the community center, which is the old train station. It is my understanding that President Lincoln was in that room once. Lewis and Clark landed in that area, as well. We meet in the city of Leavenworth. Fort Leavenworth is on the north side of the city, and the National Cemetery is on the southeast side of the city. The Missouri River forms the east boundary of the city, as well as, the state line. Leavenworth is about 20 miles from our house.
Super busy at work. This is turning out to be one of our largest sales years in company history. Production is still behind over three weeks on orders to shipments. That part of it is frustrating. The supervisors are used to a comfortable pace, and it is hard to get them to "see" the staging of orders a couple of weeks out, so that production can be turned a particular direction. For example, a big Canada order is going out today. It could have gone out a week ago if production had seen the need for French/English labels earlier. 20% of our sales go to Canada. It should not be a surprise.
I am taking a break from the treadmill this morning. I have not skipped a day in over three weeks. Thus the longer message this morning. Sorry!
Have a great day!1 -
Good morning gentlemen.
I planned to hike, today, but DDIL asked if we could take the kids for a couple nights, as she leaves town to help a friend renovating an old house (our DDIL is a lady of many, surprising talents). Anyway, my DW prevailed on me to postpone my hike, rather than leave her outnumbered by grandkids.
The Class A uniforms when I started out were wool and came in both winter and summer weights. Neither was comfortable in hot weather, but they were far better than the polyester steam baths that succeeded them - and they looked better, too.0 -
Paddled all morning with me old paddling partner. Each did solo, which was fine till wind came up at 10:00 as I was trying to pick blueberries off a bush overhanging from the shore. Blew around and back down the lake a ways, and never got one berry. No fish either, but got some nibbles and saw a big lunker looking over my rubber worm.
Lee, your boat test drive sounded great and the pups must've enjoyed the water, too. Don't know how dogs deal with heat with all that fur.
Steve, sometimes best way to get something done right is to do it yourself. Good luck on the bathroom, i'm sure it will come out good, made to last.
Baking sourdough bread again to bring to DSIL birthday pool party later. Hopefully people will have masks, otherwise I'll hide in the woods out back and wave now and then.
Stay cool in the heat everyone..0 -
Good Morning
Just a weekly one hour conference call and a PT session today. Housework, music, the usual drill. Right now sitting in a boat, canoe or kayak on a lake sounds pretty good. My heart is always happiest at the ocean's shore. I am thinking we may need to take a chance on my back this coming weekend and find a stretch of ocean.0 -
