Wanted to go fishing last night in Fisher's Island Sound but couldn't find a buddy to join me. Need a second hand for anchoring at night in the current. Too bad, the weather and tide was perfect.
Your camping trip sounds great, Dave. Wish I could get DW to camp.
Steve, I'm impressed that you have taken this bathroom project. That would be way over my level of expertise and patience level. I know you would have preferred to call the guy, but impressive that you can do it.
Great story about your tool box, Mike. I remember getting so frustrated with one of my boys because he was always using tools and never putting them back where they belong. He turned out to be auto mechanic and is now a helicopter pilot. My other boy always broke things, never built or repaired things, but smoked it in the classroom. He is now a lawyer. Very proud of them both.

PS had my first BLT of the season last night. Tomato and lettuce grown in the garden. Used pita bread instead of sourdough and guacamole instead of mayo. Pretty darn good and satisfying using my garden grown ingredients.

Good Morning!
Lee, your sandwich sounds great!
Mike and Lee, you should both be proud of your children, as should all of the men on this board.
Lee thank you for your kind words. I wish that I didn't have to do this project, but we don't want anyone in our house right now with COVID. This project, however, is about to do me in! I have the new subfloor in place. I have dry fit the concrete backerboard, and it will go down today. I noticed yesterday that the caulk on the tub/shower needs to be replaced. When I was in the garage yesterday, I noticed that Connie's shower is leaking a little. One project begets many more.
Yesterday, I smoked a small brisket on the Treager. It was awesome.
One more day of pushing it today, and then I can go back to the office and relax with month-end. Unfortunately, the bathroom probably won't be finished for several more days, as you have to wait for mortar to dry between steps. I have no idea how the contractor would have done it in two days, but I can't imagine that it would have been done right with waiting for mortar. I also don't know how much the replacement of the subfloor would have cost us in time and money. Replacing that down to the joists was a big deal. It looks good though.

Good morning gentlemen.
A job you can be proud of, Steve.
We now live in the first home we have had long enough for things to start going bad (18 years). There are places where the trim on the house is rotting. DW wants to repaint, and we'll have to have the painting company deal with the trim replacement during their prep. That will get put off another year, though. The decay isn't on anything that will leak, just on the ends of outside eaves. It's the sort of job I might have taken on, myself, years ago, but I'm not much for high ladders, anymore.
I honestly don't look forward to camping trips. They're fun, when they are happening, but it's too much preparation and too much cleanup, afterwards. If I could just throw the stuff in the car and go, it would be fine. I love that my DW pushes to go, though. I keep my reservations to myself.

Mornin’
Sunny 75° here with T-storms possible this afternoon. Not up early enough for a hike and bike is on the fritz, so maybe paddle a river if weather holds off.
Steve, hope you have good luck with rest of project and don’t have to build an outhouse to survive duration of work.
Have a good day.0 -
Good Morning!
Nice job Steve. Some projects find their own timeline.
Nice day here. We will head out today for a drive and pick up a lunch to go. Not sure how far we will go.
Enjoy your day!0
