Good Morning!
I hope that everyone is still doing OK on the east coast, and has power.
I noticed early activity at the next door neighbors. Collin was still up, and said that two police cars were there, and they were out looking around with flashlights. I received an instant message from the neighbor, and she said that her SUV, and her husband's work truck had been gone through. They were unlocked, and someone was looking for keys. We had a truck stolen from the neighborhood a couple of nights ago. This is not good. Someone is prowling our neighborhood, which has been pretty safe the 25 years we've lived here. I hope that they can catch these people quickly.
We've had several days of nice weather. Hot an humid is building back in. At least the closer we get towards Labor Days the fewer long heat waves we will see.
We noticed a water leak in our living room ceiling. Connie does not want me on the roof, so she called a contractor. We have a couple of holes in the masonry of our fireplace, and they think that is what is causing it. New flashing, and repairs. I'll let them do that. $600 bye bye. It is always something. I was too tired to work on the bathroom floor last night, and I went to bed at 7:30. Ugh.
Have a great day!0 -
Morning~
Holy moly, Steve! Scary! I fear that what you describe is going to become more and more rampant.... Our location is several miles from an already understaffed Sheriff Office. I know most are expecting to protect themselves in the event of....
SUPER sever thunderstorms overnight. Poor Mr. Coops had a long night. Despite mostly blind and deaf - he doesn't do well in storms. I darn near tripped over him stumbling into bathroom this morning. He'd crawled up on a shag rug in front of my sink. Oi....

Dave and I missed the storms being in the PacNW. DGS did ok in Queens NY at the apt he is quarantined in. My DW also threatens to chop down our apple and pear trees.
Off for ride at dawn soon.0 -
Good morning gentlemen.
Tough night. Couldn't sleep, for some reason. I'll be dragging today, and we have the grandkids coming over for the next couple of nights, while their parents climb Mount Adams.
Apple trees generally have a fairly short productive life, I think. Ours are 17 years old and nearing the end. On the other hand, some varieties stay productive for generations. My DDIL just had to cut up an apple tree in their yard that was more than 100 years old. Termites got into a rotten section of the trunk and it finally collapsed.
Some rain should blow through, this morning, bringing much cooler temperatures. We'll be back in the 80s this weekend, though.0 -
Morning...
Never connected with DS yesterday for a hike. We'll do some paddling after he gets out of work Saturday afternoon. I know a river not far where the beavers all come out in the late afternoon--that should be fun.
Going for a hike this morning while it's relatively cool, and checking the water levels in the river, which should be good after Isaias, but it's dam controlled so I want to make sure.
Skip, your poor dog... and how's your back recovering?
Steve, hopefully the culprit will be caught or driven elsewhere. Hardworking people should be able to keep the results of their work.
Have a good one.0 -
Hey, Mike~
Back is doing remarkably well. PT is underway (2x's weekly). I feel about 75%...meeting/update with Ortho in 10 days with hopes to get rid of this very uncomfortable back brace.....and kicking PT up a few notches!

Nice Mike. We have beavers around here but I don't usually see them.
Glad your PT is working ok Skip!
So sorry you couldn't sleep Dave!!
DGS largely escaped Isaias even though he isn't far from JFK where they had a 70 mph gust.
Always something a brewing.0 -
Good Morning
We had a cloudy cool day yesterday. That’s about as close to rain as we get in the summer. Quiet day today. PT in the afternoon. The back is easing up a bit from this latest setback. I have a couple dozen Morning Glory Muffins to make for Heather’s work. They are closed Friday & Monday to deep clean and reorganize the Preschool for the new school year.0
