I started the day with a beachfront walk. The ocean looked amazing but I needed to get to work and by the time I was finished I was too tired to fight the strong winds that had picked up. I’m planning to swim tomorrow morning before work though.
It was a good day as for the first time in 6 months I worked without my favourite colleague. It was a bit weird because the staff member I worked with today instead obviously doesn’t have the routine that we had developed and my friend and I just work so well together that no one else is as easy. But it’s the first time I had full responsibility for that section and worked it all on my own so it was a victory day. Even though the animals didn’t all cooperate, we were able to get everything done with no incidents and all animals ate all their food without issue. That’s the important bit! Tomorrow we have our volunteers in again so it’ll be easy and next week I get a day off to go hiking with friends. The benefit of having other staff back means we can take occasional days off as well.
All food logged and under budget. And I’m on track to closing all my Apple rings for September.10 -
