Gender identity

How does your weight affect your gender identity?

  • It's complicated, but my weight is part of what drives my hate for all reflective surfaces. I'm trans masculine but the extra weight I carry adds to my curves (I'm pre-op) and makes me present as more female. Even with a binder on my chest appears feminine, and that stresses me out.

The good news is that I came out in Feb so I'm no longer stress eating and I have dropped roughly 40 lbs since then. I still have at least 40 more pounds to go and I'm hoping that going on T helps me to recomp beyond that.
