    Morning~

    First day of a LONG week.

    DF arrives Thursday.....Big event at the house on Saturday for 29 college interns....hope we can use back yard.

    already yawning!

    Back to work for me as well after some quality time with me dad.

    Interesting why people come to the door au natural. Frustrated nudists maybe? Or just plain ornery?

    LOL! I had "the talk" with me Dad and told him he better be on his best behavior! No eye-balling; no politics or religion talk.....

    University President and key alumni from area coming too. Should be a good event if I can keep my dad under wraps....

    When me dad was living he could always find some way to embarrass us; looking back not as bad as I perceived back then. Enjoy while you can.

    Good morning.

    Mom came home on Saturday. Given the circumstances at home and how Covid is beating her up, she really wasn't ready. But, the hospital got her hydration and blood sugar back in line and sent her home because she's not severe enough by whatever criteria they use. Her insurance won't cover assisted living either.

    In cheerier news, I took Cecilia to Bastrop and got pictures with a novelty-sized squirrel. 1ag7a99w3vtq.jpg

    Made a recipe from the 1950s that was a staple when I was growing up: porcupine meatballs. Tasted just like I was a kid, again. (It's made with ground beef, rice and Campbells Tomato Soup - look it up). Food nostalgia is fun, sometimes, but I promise not to attempt vegetable-flavored Jello.

    We had porcupine meatballs often when I was a kid. A great way to stretch the beef.

    It's our anniversary today. Nothing special planned (as usual...ok by me). Ron and our host are doing some reno today.

    Just applied for a great long sit near Austin from late December-March. Super excited about this one.

    Dave, heard of the meatballs, never had them. I thought they were made with rice. Not cereal.

    I managed to make a homemade from scratch apple pie. Best Apple pie I’ve ever had. I guess I better post a picture.
    Super busy yesterday and today. Worked late Monday and will today.
