I've always had too much anxiety about the future. I have a great imagination which can 'see' dark clouds in the future that will actually then bring clouds into an otherwise sunny day.
One of the best books that I have ever read was written in the 1930's by Dale Carnegie. The book is entitled, How to Stop Worrying and Start Living.
He wrote numerous best sellers such as "How to win friends and influence people'. His writing is dated but his principles are timeless.
I recommend him to anyone who struggles with worries about the future, family, and yourself.
What books do you find inspirational or motivating when you are worried?9 -

Exercise? Yes (5km walk in 43mins - hills)
In budget? Yes
Tracking? Yes
Got walk in today. Weather is starting to warm up here.
Was mentally struggling to get things done today. Hard to get moving. Glad I got my walk done.
Some of the medication I am on affects my ability to "push" myself. This is both a good and a bad thing. Good in that I feel less anger towards myself when I do not meet my own high expectations. Bad in that when I feel the need to push myself to get things done, I cannot seem to do it.18 -
@craigo3154 Sorry for our struggles, but I am impressed that understand that you understand your obstacles. Hopefully with time, and your obvious perseverance, it will all become easier for you.6

^ spotted my sloppy typing above just as I hit "post". Would edit, but this thread does not have the option. Hopefully it will make enough sense as is.

Good morning,
I just wanted to thank you for everything. Joining this group gave me something to keep going and on track. I really appreciated the support from this group. That being said, I am a part of another health and wellness group through my church and though I will continue to track everything I feel like it is difficult to keep up with both. I am already a week behind. Just wanted to say thank you and I hope the best for your group. God bless!13 -

A tough competition squad session this morning and some food prep for the coming week. All food logged and under budget because I swopped a meal out for the peanut butter milkshake I have been craving.
I read more fiction because it is my escape. I’ve read some inspirational books but none stick out to me right now. Looking forward to hear what others have read though.6 -
I have never thought to read through my anxieties and I too would be interested to see what has helped others

well my farrier told me that in 2014 when my horse was in the middle of a serious health issue. I have never forgotten it and a few weeks back I texted the same back to him and thanked him for his support over the years.
Exercise and meditation do help with anxiety. So does riding.Last night photo. I think we need to clean the mirrors tho. LOL.

This is fantastic! Probably my motto of the month, before I read it! It's what kept me working out and enjoying each day so far this month, with its ups and downs. 🌞
Speaking of workout... active rest day today, from HR's 12 week program. Emphasis on active. Been on the 🚴♀️ for 90 min and 🏃♀️ in the morning for 30 min. Did a plank workout and kid wanted us to please try a tabata workout, so did 2 out of 3 rounds (including burpees) cause he was pretty tired and thankfully suggested we'd leave it at that 😀.
With over 550 cal left, I can safely say yes to all 3. 🙌7 -
Yes, wi, si, oui7

Late starting this month. Ive used 3 passes. Ive had a busy start to the month. My daughter broke her toe so ive been down to the hospital with her a couple of times. I spent the day in myself getting tested after having chest pains so all this through me. Im feeling a little more with it again now

@WMEJA Best of health to you!
@SummerSkier The mirror effect makes this photo look aged. You and your horse look marvelous!
Based on CICO, I'm generating fewer exercise calories so far this month compared to last. So I've started an ab/core-focused workout to do on the days I'm not doing the sandbag workout. Not expecting the "rock hard abs" promised by the title but maybe it'll help me see some scale progress. Besides, I need to continue working on my core.
And, my best anxiety-buster - hands down - is the Bible.7 -
Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? Yes, 45 minute walk.
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? Yes

Third pass day for me; made really bad food choices and am more than 400 Cal's over my target.
Your post was really timely @RangerRickL as anxiety has been a big reason for my poor eating today. I had something I needed to do that I've been procrastinating over, and the anxiety kept building up to become totally disabling. I put it off until the very last minute - and then of course I got it done in just a couple of hours, though not as well as if I'd allowed myself more time. This is a theme with my anxiety. My favourite reading for managing my mental health is anything by Pema Chödrön, particularly When things fall apart and The places that scare you. I'm a great believer in mindfulness and meditation, but not always so good at practicing it!7 -
Yes X 3 - exercise was a 20 mins walk7

Day 8
YES; Aerobics 20 minutes/ cleaned oven but didn't count that for exercise
YES; calculated all food intake
YES; stayed under calories
I never got into reading self help books, I mainly enjoyed biographies, politics and some fiction by Stuart Woods "stone Barrington series" and several other's.
