Woke at 4:45, pretty tired but up for the day. The wind is roaring and snow is flying, another 7"-12" yet to come.
Ex is in a COVID inpatient unit, stable with good vitals, although feels awful. (After 30 hours in the ER of another hospital, 8 hrs in its waiting room in a chair before they started IVs-- very aggravating.) DD works in the hospital where she now is and hoping she'll be on the way to regaining strength. DS with bipolar really depends on her, hoping she gets better. He told me he got signed up for health insurance, which is really good news. He turned 26 and is off my plan end of month.
Gradually cleaning up my place. Not dirty, just hidden clutter: old files, disorganized papers, stuff I don't really need, stuff that could be stored more efficiently. I live in a small condo and you get forced to trim down, probably a good thing to learn. Hoping to get to the important things I wanted to do when I retire but haven't done. Clutter gets in the way of goals.
Sipping coffee and having some hot Muesli.
Have a good, OP day!0 -
Good Morning!
Mike, continued prayers for your ex, your son, and the rest of your family.
Mike and Lee, stay safe in this snow storm! Lee, you are a DVM, you could probably round up a team to pull a dog sled like Mike suggested. I don't want any snow like that in Kansas.
Mike, we are doing what we call "The Great Purge". The idea comes from what they call a "Swedish Death Cleansing", which is where by tradition, Swedes go through a major cleaning and purging as they get into their senior years, so that their kids don't have to do that when they pass. The cleansing is very hard, but also very liberating.
Have a great day!0 -
Mornin' gents.
Easily have 12" and it is still snowing hard and sideways.
Glad your ex is finally settled into getting decent care. Sorry it was such a rough journey through the ER to get there. Praying that she recovers quickly.
Will get to use my snow shoes this year. I do have a pulling harness for the dogs, but only one and my guys will pull to me, but not away from me.
Thinking about cooking up some apples.
Be OP ;-)

Good morning gentlemen.
If your dogs will only pull toward you, Lee, I guess you'd have to be the lead dog on the team.
I had a rough day yesterday. The dental appointment took two hours. They had to numb me three times. Not pleasant. Then I drove to the Army hospital to get a prescription for Rita. As the novocaine wore off the tooth started to hurt - a lot. That went on for a couple hours until it finally eased - helped along by 800 mg of Ibuprofen. It still aches a little, this morning. I'll have a sensitive tooth, with a temporary crown, for the next month.
The grandkids will be coming over tonight and stay through the day, tomorrow, while their parents go skiing. That will perk me up.0 -
Ouch Dave. Sending my prayers to all of you affected by COVID. Sounds like a very rough journey for your ex and the family Mike. I still think my grandson had an early case when he was in New York at college before testing was common. Stay safe all.0

Good Morning
Sorry to hear about that tooth Dave, It shouldn't be that bad. Mike I am glad your ex is finally getting treated. Hospitals are in tough shape right now. I am off to the Ortho today. MRI indicates I may have some stress fractures in my tibia which is causing the pain. Looking forward to turning it around. PT modified some of the stretches for me.0 -
Dave, get some oil of clove and keep dabbing around tooth
Prayers continue for DEX Mike
Glad they know issue now Bill, hope they can take care of issue easily
We have purged last two times we moved, having to clean out parents house taught me that I did not want to do that to my kids we now have what we use and about 5 boxes of stuff that needs going through; but have told kids once we are gone they can toss everything or call Habitat and donate contents of house. Have learned kids values are not the same as ours.
Covid is rising in area we believed we were protected in. Up to 3 weeks ago only 3 deaths and less than 600 total cases; that is changing fast, hospital having to send patients 100's of miles off for beds.
Folks at church fussing because Christmas Eve services canceled, they do not have a clue0
