Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes?
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day?
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank?

Yesterday, @Pearl0408 shared this quote in her post. Thanks so much! This applies to a lot more than just our healthy habits...

Seeing the picture of the roasted chestnuts reminds me that I've never had one. It isn't something you see where I live. They look delish!

@bellesouth18 It's a tradition that came with my husband (italian background). On winter Sunday nights, we roast sausages in the coals for dinner.

Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? Yes. Treadmill 36 mins / 1.92 miles
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? NOPE.
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? Yes.

    1/3 passes used

I was trying to save my passes for the last three days of the month since we'll be out of town and eating restaurant food. But, in spite of my best efforts our Christmas Eve dinner with wine was more caloric than expected. Still, it was a wonderful meal so it was worth it.

For those of you under calories ... I applaud you.

@bellsouthxo I always wanted to try the roasted chestnuts and the first time I went to NYC back in the 80s I had a chance to try them. I was pretty disappointed in them... they were rather disgusting.

@lazyblondchef I can see how you might not have liked chestnuts. Hubby LOVES them. I find them OK. We cooked the 20. Six were tracked for me and 14 for him. I actually find them very "rich" in taste, and find them difficult to eat more than a few. I actually only ate five on mine and hubby was thrilled to gain a 15th. For me, the tradition has more significance to me. Husband had these as a kid, and, as a couple, we have been roasting them since married (37 years) and our adult kids can carry on the tradition if they like.

I posted the photo yesterday mostly because of Nat King Cole's, The Christmas Song, and realized how appropriate our Christmas Eve food choice accidentally was. <3
