Ok all the treats are finished, well the unhealthy ones. I made a batch of oat milk ice cream (well, I tried. I’ll see tomorrow if it worked) which is mostly oat milk and nuts with a bit of honey to sweeten it. My two weeks no treats rule is only applicable to unhealthy treats.
I will be logging from tomorrow morning again but I did get in a good exercise session today. An hour of Jiu Jitsu with the boys which started us alternating 3 minute rounds (you roll two then rest one) but in the fifth round one of them tweaked his knee (hoping it wasn’t too serious). After that I just rolled with the big brown belt. When I tapped we reset and started again. Occasionally we would pause to get some water or tie my hair up again then go again. It was great! He is tough but not mean and the more I roll the easier I move. I have bruises and I’m sore, but that’s part of the sport. I’m back to daily yoga from tomorrow, which I badly need!
Food choices weren’t too bad as I didn’t have much unhealthy stuff in the house. Ready for next step in this adventure called life. Got a book to finish before I sleep (curfew starts at 9 so no celebrations here but I normally don’t do the new year thing anyway).6 -
Been busy cleaning and cooking all day, so I am positive about not using the last UAC pass I habe left. And even if I did (say, because I logged "by ear")... 😉 I made it! 🎉
Happy new year, everyone! 🎉 Make it a good one 🏋♀️! All the best to all for 2021❣7 -
I am back from my trip and will be monitoring my food intake very carefully for the rest of the day so I remain in the Winners Circle. Probably will spend some extra time on the treadmill too.
Used 3/3 passes as of yesterday.8 -

Pass Days: 3 ( using the last one today )
I want to wish you all a very happy New Years Eve! Congrats to everyone who made both the winners circle and the champions list for a VERY hard month to do that in! I wanted to say I weighed today for the first time since the start of this months challenge. People who have been in the group for awhile know this is the way I prefer to weigh. I weigh the day I start a challenge, then not again until the last day. Its just what works for me, you have to find what works best for you! Its actually VERY exciting now on weigh day, instead of the dread it used to be, my scale is now my friend! As of today I weigh 126 pounds! I started September 21st at 149. I lost each month an average of 6 pounds and although this month was slightly lower coming in at 5 pound loss instead of 6, I think that is pretty darn amazing! I lost 5 pounds during a month I would normally have gained an easy 5, if not more! I now have 11 pounds to go until my goal weight of 115! I am 52 years old, 5'2 inches tall, and I think 115 is perfect! I NEVER had to give up any food I wanted to eat, it was all my choice on what I ate, what kind of exercise I did, and my custom plan. I however couldn't have done it without the help from the UAC and ALL of you! Each one of you played a part in my weight loss and I am very greatful for you all! Here is to a fantastic 2021 and our new healthy lifestyle for next year! Enjoy your celebrations tonight! Oh and forgot to mention that this means in 100 days of doing this healthy eating and the UAC I lost a total of 23 pounds!9 -

Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? YES | Bret Contreras' Strong Curves "At Home Workout" program (40) TOTAL: 40 min
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? YES | Base + 151
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? YES |
---|---|---|---
Personal Bonus: Did I meet my protein macro for the day (min 40%)?YES |45% (7 out of 16 days)
Pass Days used: (DEC11)(DEC14)(DEC25)
So I've made it to the Winner's Circle! (starts dancing again)
However, since there's been so much brutal honesty this month, I do have a correction to my entry from yesterday.
I said I hit 40% protein but I could NOT - for the life of me - take the evening protein shake that would have gotten me there. So it was actually 35%. That's why I was sure to hit 45% today. It's high for one day but it averages out to 40% for yesterday and today.
I tried to make the math make sense and reduce my guilt. Yeesh, this accountability stuff is stressful 🤣

Though I know weight numbers are not the primary focus for us here in the UAC, I want to share that for November (a fairly challenging calorie month) I managed to get rid of 7.2 pounds, and for the October Challenge another -5.0. I am now weighing slightly less than October 2019, which seems like a miracle. Target weight is in sight (129-130 – weight at my nephew’s May 2019 wedding) and doable in the next couple months. I am grateful for the results. Also notable for the November UAC, I entered and walk/ran a virtual 5K. I looked at the results and I came in 154/357 for total entries, 87/234 female, and 19/87 over 50 female. I would have been happy if I even came in last, because I entered. Being in the top 50% is super motivating even though I know this kind of race is not full of competitive runners.
So now for my December UAC. I am starting by raising my daily target calories by 50, and will be re-evaluating this every 10 days, as I want to start easing into my eventual maintenance calories. I don’t want to get go from lower calories to higher calories in a single day. I will be trying my best for the Winner’s circle, but need to be realistic and will at least commit to showing up daily and aiming to be a champion and aim to clean off 2 more pounds during December. Then, during my next 9 days in the Keys, I plan to walk/run to Sombrero Beach and even try to get you a sunrise photo (will take some planning) and get back home. Google maps claims the distance is 3.3 miles each way. At for the rest of the month, my brain can only cope with planning til the 12th. Will regroup again once up north again.
BTW in November, I did not opt for eating back my “exercise” calories like I had planned. My problem with the method of eating back each day’s exercise calories is that that calorie number not compatible with advance planning and tracking, and I like to plan and pre-track my days. So this is the reason I am going try upping my planned daily calories instead and that way I can continue with the pre-tracking that works well for me.
Here we go!

*** MFP considers me under my calories for the day, but I am still currently not eating back exercise calories. So, Pass #1 used, but worth it – Oysters Rockefeller, and dinner of Seared scallops over Succotash with asparagus and a bacon ju. Lovely meal – no drinks or dessert. Ironic part is I was hungry by the time I got home. Speculating is that I will not make the winner’s circle this month, but still going to keep it in mind cause you never know.

I’m comfortable with how my December challenge ended. I may not be in the Winner’s Circle, but when unexpected days caused me to use a pass, I managed to salvage two planned days, Xmas Eve and New Year’s Eve which helped my final number. Feels good and I’m ready for 2021!

Yes x 36

Oh it’s a pass! BUT I walked seven miles this morning after an hour of strength because I knew it would be an evening of snacks and drinks. I’m not logging but I do know that I’m ok.4

Made all 3.
I wish all my UAC friends a happy healthy and safe new year. I do hope to achieve my goal weight this year, I would like to learn new songs for my guitar and continue my personal mission of good health.5 -
Correction! I posted a VERY long post on yesterdays day ( 12/30 ) some of you will see your name in that post! I did forget a couple people who I would like to give a shout out to today before our 2020 comes to a end soon!
@MalteadTea Thank you for ALWAYS inspiring me to do better. You were ALWAYS posting about your kettleball workouts! I asked for one for Christmas because of YOU! I did get one, haven't used it yet, starting in January. It is one that goes up to 40 pounds and you can start low, then add weights into it to make it heavier as you get stronger, not sure what kind that you use? I was researching them and this seemed best option for money as then you have one ball instead of many at different weights. It does come with a book on how to do what they call a circuit of exercise and how and when to build up to more. I might just be asking you along the way for some help in this area next month.
@pearl0408 I know you are pretty much a new member, or at least to me, however you came into our group blazing on fire, meaning what an inspiration you are for us all! I have been loving your positive quotes and memes, so please don't stop them and keep them coming. We NEED you!
@lalabank You my dear are a true inspiration! You lost 100 pounds! WOW I can't even imagine what it took to stay the long haul for that amazing weight loss, the stamina and drive to keep plugging away at it, bite by bite! But YOU did it! So very proud of you! I know you were down on yourself about gaining back I think it was 23 pounds? But thats how we learn right? Trial and error they say. You however knew at that amount you gained you needed to stop it and focus and get back to buisness. If it was the old you, how much would you have let yourself go? 30, 40, 50, 60, all of the 100 pounds you lost? You didn't! You nipped it in the bud early and you WILL get that weight you put on back off! I believe in you my dear, so now just believe in yourself!3 -
Happy to end the year with yes, yes and yes!
Happy New Year! Looking forward to 2021.5 -

@ginadomaszewicz So glad to hear that you're part of the kettlebell life. Yours sounds like an adjustable one that goes up to just a bit past a pood (which I think is 36 or 37 lb). I just have two separate bells 25 lb and 40 lb. Circuit training can be leveraged for almost any exercise or piece of equipment so it sounds like you're gearing up for a turbocharged 2021! Know that you, as well as every other UACer, impress the heck out of me DAILY too!3
