Enjoy! It's all about the seasoning in that recipe so use what flavors you like!

    An Observation
I know MFP uses a BMR calculation to help you set a goal but what I have found is the calculation is not low enough for me to lose weight. It seems to have taken my normal activity and built that into calories so to lose I have to do a combination of increasing activity and dropping calories. Because of this I don't add back my basic cardio workout any more.

@Chinkiri great to hear that u get out daily! I am much the same and like to go for a walk on weekdays. I find its great for the mind bod and spirit. I always feel so much better after a walk. We live in walking distance to the beach so my baby and i just love all the nature. Thankfully here in Australia covid had died down so we hve been allowed outdoors for a really long time now.

@chinkiri So here is Massachusetts (USA), the current law is masks at all times outside ones home. While that makes sense for many cities/towns here, it makes no sense where I live. Here each home is on a minimum of 1 acre of land and there are protected woods breaking that up even further. I have done as much as 6 miles and seen one person. Of course, other times I have seen more, but we are all good about distance and moving to the opposite sides of the road, so I do not walk with a mask. But on top of that, if I really want to keep my contact down, time is day is key. I love walking in the dark, lots of people do not, so there are even fewer people then. I wear a reflective harness and a flashing light arm band for visibility. I did learn the other day, that commuting time is not as good as later or earlier due to the number of cars I have to avoid (plus right now with 3 snowstorms in 8 days the snowdrifts keep you in the street). I started my walking using music for motivation and to set my pace. If you determine the steps per minute you want, find music with that BPM or faster. Right now, I am walking faster than my music so I need to update my playlist and I have been walking listening to podcasts or talking on the phone. My very very recent addition of jogging is no phone call, but ok with music as my pace is do far off the beat that it doesn't matter, or podcasts. Walking is great, and I am annoyed by life and weather impacting that for me at the moment. And as for your knee, I wonder if any type of shoe would help with that situation. My latest shoes are the first to counteract the mortons neuroma in my foot. I went to a running shoe store and they were fantastic in addressing my issues.

Re discussions about yesterday's thread (10th February) about walking, I would love to hear about your walking experiences, pictures etc. Also problems: Covid-19 restrictions, weather, physical problems, what do you do? How does it make you feel? Do you listen to music while walking, or podcasts?
I have a knee problem, but it's a question of use it or lose it, so I force myself to go out for a daily walk even if I don't feel like it, I find that I usually enjoy it!

I try to aim for trails so I don't see people and don't need to wear a masks. The more off the beaten trail, the better. That being said, if you have a bad knee walking on snow if you're walking a trail that doesn't get plowed might not be for you. My hubs has a knee issue and I try to drag him with me some days, and he is not a fan of the snow/uneven ground. If I'm walking someone with hubs, no music. If I'm alone - definitely music! Plus the best part of music is that it keeps strangers from talking to me if Hubs isn't there to deter them. I am a person that attracts oversharing and unsolicited touching from strangers (hand on arm, back, fixing my collar, etc - even in the COVID personal bubble era) so I try to look as unfriendly as possible. LOL. That sounds terrible, but it works for me. I digress - I find walking is totally key to my routine, as it's still exercise but it's not as aggressive as running or the classes I take so it's a great option for "rest days" between more intense exercises so I still get some form of movement in but my muscles have recovery time. I went a couple of weeks trading the walks in for runs, and it resulted in my completely crashing this past weekend. Walks are key.

Hello Massachusetts! I've been your way many years ago, although maybe just Boston doesn't count? We're pretty good here with masks and distances in France, even when there are not so many people around. I have a knee issue, car crash 20 years ago. I used to be part of a women's walking group, but Covid-19 more or less put an end to it. I need to pull myself together though so I can do more walking on my own. I could take a tram almost to the beach, 20 minutes, then go for a long walk along the Mediterranean. I just need a bit of a push and some encouragement!

While I'd prefer to walk outside my allergies often make that not possible. So I do the majority of my walking on the treadmill while reading. If it weren't for the reading I'd never do it because it's otherwise quite boring. This is one reason why my treadmill times are always 30 plus some odd number because I quit when the book is at the end of a chapter. When the evening weather is pleasant and the allergy triggers aren't bad we sometimes go for a short walk after dinner.

The other thing that is key for me is to go on the treadmill as soon as I get up in the morning. Otherwise it's unlikely I'll do it because I get distracted and forget, or it becomes too late and it would disturb my partner who still works and goes to bed somewhat early or I simply don't want to. The latter is most likely.

I think it's important to find the conditions that work best for you and also to work on creating the habit so it becomes automatic. However, I realize it can be difficult to actually create the habit. I'm still trying to create more regularity with my crunches and weight lifting.

Are you reading with an audiobook? Or is it a book book? 📖🚶🏼‍♀️

@MaltedTea I have one of those clear plastic book holder things that hooks over the treadmill (on top of where the screen and buttons are) and read via Kindle app on my iPad. I'm too picky about the voice on an audio book so I don't buy many of those.

If I miss my morning cardio I almost never get to it later. Then what I do later is bonus!

Brrrr that’s cold it’s 22 C/73 F here. Sitting enjoying the sun, drinking coffee.

I did the 14- day free trial on Noom. One of the biggest take aways, was learning about Habit Stacking. Take one enjoyable habit and pair it with something that you’d like to become a habit.

For me, it was morning coffee. Every morning I have coffee. Paired that with something that I avoided at the time, exercise- especially exercise that makes me sweat. It took about two weeks of consistently enjoying coffee and then getting on the bike for it to become a habit.

Listened to a great motivational book, Atomic Habits. Book marked quite a few pages. He discussed Habit Stacking as well.

That's a great set-up! And I agree with you on the voices for audiobooks lol

Yes, this is why I sometimes do "Coffee Runs!" If I want a fancy coffee (as opposed to black), then I have to literally run to the coffee shop 🤣

Glad you found something that works for you too @TheresaM787

I hate cold, which is partly why I live in southern France and at the moment mornings are too cold for me (although it's tropical compared to where some of you are!). This afternoon the sun will come out and temperatures will go up to a whopping 8 -10°C and that's when I am planning my walk!

@donna25trinity and @fatbambi2017 I also love quiche! Inspired by your exchange a few days ago I looked up 'crustless quiche' and will attempt a crustless spinach one today. Will let you know how it goes and how many calories it takes!

I used to do quiche. Now I do the filling in a small non stick omelette pan then toast it under the grill to brown it. Works a treat.

@fractaltiger - I love that idea for lent. I’m going to get a box out today and encourage hubby to do the same.

@Chinkiri - that quiche looked delish!

Confession - did not even know this thread existed until a couple days ago when @RangerRickL mentioned it on his daily inspiration.
