Mornin' gents.
22 degrees and sunny. I'll take sunny! Love that the days noticeably start earlier and last longer.

Ice fishing again brought only ONE fish, a very big bass this time. Pond has mercury pollution so definitely threw it back. Still, a nice day out in fresh air. Ice became crumbly slush on top by afternoon, in some places the top 3"-4" gave way when walking on it, a pretty freaky experience. A new friend had joined us for his first icefishing experience. Guessing probably his last.
After I got home I found an hour-old message from the town that I'm on the vaccine wait-list and if I came in the next 15 minutes I could get a shot. Too late, of course, and didn't even know I was on the wait-list! Will keep phone on and nearby from now on. Sigh.
Time to make the coffee...0 -
Good morning gentlemen.
Tough break on the vaccine notification, Mike. It's a heck of a system.
We got our taxes done, yesterday, up on post. Very simple, straight forward process. Bummer, for me, was that the COVID protocol was that we handed over our documents, the waited in the car for everything to be completed. No chance for me to chat with soldiers. We had to pay, too, as expected. Our withholding is set at the lowest possible rate. I am happy to pay my taxes, but see no reason to give Uncle Sam an interest-free loan of our money.
DW has another eye doctor appointment, this afternoon. I do hope they can come up with some theory about what is causing her issues with glare, since her cataract surgery.0 -
Interesting that you mention Rita's glare problem, Dave. I mentioned I was having serious issues with glare at my recent eye exam but optometrist did not find any evidence of cataract. I have to wear polarized glasses when driving at night because when idiots don't dim their brights, I am essentially blind until they pass. Even dimmed lights create glare.0

Good Morning
I am sorry to hear Rita's issues continue, Dave. Let's hope today they find a direction to move on this.
Heather's drive-thru vaccination at the Fairgrounds was well run. We both get our second shots on the same day, but 25 miles apart, but glad we are in process. We had an amazing call with the Miracle Money award for my friend. So much joy and hope. It was hard to keep it together. Getting ready to start baking again. I need to sugar up the neighbors.0 -
Good Morning!
Late sign-in today. Whew! Busy start to the day!
Lee, may be total unrelated to your eye issue. I have a stigmatism. I see little stars with looking at stop lights, for example, at night. I have also talked about the glare from oncoming cars. Collin says it is not really their bright lights. At least around here, people are putting new LED type and/or brighter lamps into older cars with lenses that were not made for the higher intensity lights being designed today. The result is that it looks like they are driving around with high beams on, when they really have a lamp not designed for their older car headlight lens. Who'd a thunk it. Collin has 27 year old eyes, and he cusses at the brighter lights too.
Tomorrow is Connie's 63rd birthday. I'm still trying to round up gifts for her.
Have a great day!

Wow Mike tough break on the shot. I hope Rita founds out some answers to her glare issues. I know that sometimes there are issues with the lens capsule that are fixable with lazer. Just hoping for the best solution for her.
Oh and I am terrible with bright lights and going in and out of shadows etc. Sunrise and sunset?? fugetta about it and seeing stuff while driving into the bright light. Oh my. My dear wife just doesn't even want to think about driving at night.0 -
Morning/Afternoon
Doing better but do not enjoy having to give self shot in muscle, good it is only weekly. Methotrexate with Leucovorin rescue, pamphlet too small of print for me to read, also taking Folic acid in addition to Meloxicam, Plaquenil, Tramadol and Movantik all because of arthritis; this does not include drugs for heart and strokes.
Getting older is no fun.
Beautiful yesterday with highs in mid 70's, cloudy and 50's today but should have a warm sunny weekend before rain with highs in 60's for next week.
Good that more are getting vaccines, we feel much better about needing to go out.0
