In light of recent posts, today is a very important day. Why? Because your gross weight on a scale is a deceiver. It is not an accurate way to reflect muscle mass; fitness; or even fatness.
10 -
Every month on the 15th, we celebrate something good that is happening in our lives. The concept originated with Weight Watchers and it's great for our mental health. Non-scale victories or NSVs. What is going right on your healthy habits journey?
8 -
15th yes yes and yes.
My nsv is i hve only had 1 pass this month so far and altho the scale is not showing it my wedding ring feels so much looser! I hve started weights in the last few weeks so not sure if that is effecting the number on the scale. Lastly ive started tracking macros so now that i am eating enough protien i feel full and satisfied which in turn has stopped me from overeating.
Good night my friends im exhausted.

NSV Day, hmm. I always post that my greatest NSV is to be still here, still the case this month.
However, I can also post that I am slowly increasing my walking time again, after a giant collapse last month, AND I could tentatively say that I might actually get to enjoy walking time again ...
Another NSV is that I am beginning to realise how badly I look after myself. I was trying to think of non-food ways to reward myself and I had real trouble thinking of things / ways. Got help from lots of UAC peeps and I might actually be able to pull it off and get some stuff for me to acknowledge how pleased I am with myself, instead of going from To Do List to the Failed To Do List.
Calories: under, exercise: 40 minutes walking (didn't manage to add another 5 minutes, but I think 40 minutes is still pretty good for me). Tracking: Yes, logged it all.@Madisonmolly201710 -

NSV... Got my first Pfizer jab today! Amazed at how happy. When I was sitting in my car waiting the 15 minute dwell time to see if I would have a bad reaction the checker came over after 1o minutes and asked "how are you feeling?" My response was "Better than I have in a year!"14 -

Got busy today, so did minimum exercising, I'm posting early because I'm still busy 😵.
I have mentioned before one of this month NSVs is how I'm managing harder exercises. Moreover, I did write before that I'm a heavy sleeper, my usual minimum 10 hours of sleeping, recently I have been sleeping for 8 hours and wake up before the alarm 😍! Hope it's not temporary ☺️! Lastly, I like how even though I'm tired, I do what I have to do in the same day, not tomorrow or the day after, I noticed that I can push myself even if I don't feel like it, which was really hard before!
Goodnight 🤗8 -
NSV: I hit my PR for my kettlebell workout this morning. I finished in less than 30 minutes...barely!
I was a minute late for work and I'm STILL in my workout clothes but let us never mind all that lol

I meal planned this week so today's dinner - black-eyed peas and spinach with turkey bacon - should keep me just over my macro target.Since my 40 lb KB is taking some getting used to, I've worked out my expected progression using a drop set approach with my 25 lb KB. However, I ended off the first week and then started the second week by advancing my workout progressions faster than expected.
The calendar has been adjusted as of MAR082021 to reflect that I may end up doing 8 sessions with only the 40 lb KB (not just 3, as laid out in the original plan). Still aiming for a 30 min PR by month-end. Update: PR hit as of Session 10 of 20. New goal: keep the time but, umm, with less grunting 🤣
The number in yellow indicates the number of minutes taken to complete the workout that day

NSV is all knee related. Firstly I am becoming less obsessed with it (back story for those not familiar work me moaning about it was a bad injury in September, crutches for months, surgery in December). But best of all I have been able to go up the stairs two at a time and can get off the floor with no hands this week, whoop! Getting back to normal mobility. It’s such a relief.9 -
I'm home again now, so will catch up with the posts over the last few days
3rd pass day today - got the exercise but didn't track so don't know my calories.
Last week was really horrible, my son taken into hospital on Tuesday after a fall and kept in for observation and medication adjustment. The consultant review on Thursday came back with a dreadful revised prognosis. We probably only have a few weeks left with him. He is still in hospital - can't come home until a hospital bed and various other provisions are put in place. I spent the weekend with my daughter in law and the children. Hope to go back again when he is home. No one is allowed to visit (Covid precautions) but we have had a few phone calls, and a face-time call.
NSVs are beyond me just now. Getting through the day.21 -

@Chinkiri
Forty minutes is more than most people in developed countries walk each day. Stand proud; Walk proud!
You are doing wonderful invisible things for your health & your mind!
US Govt recommends 30 min walk 5X a week minimum or 75 vigorous minutes per week.
🇫🇷 France Guidelines:
“Guidelines and goals”
“France adheres to the global recommendations on physical activity for health for children and adults, as set out by WHO in 2010. The Ministry of Urban Affairs, Youth and Sports implements various strategies (through the PNNS), aiming to increase the population’s physical activity levels.”
“Three distinct groups have been identified and given specific targets to work towards. Children between the ages of 5 and 17 years are advised to engage in 60 minutes of moderate- to vigorous-intensity physical activity (MVPA) on a daily basis.”
“For adults (aged 18—64 years), a minimum of 150 minutes of moderate exercise is recommended on a weekly basis, or at least 75 minutes of vigorous training per week.”
“For those aged over 65 years, the guidelines are similar to those for adults aged 18—64 years: 30 minutes of moderate exercise is recommended five times per week, or 20 minutes of vigorous-intensity exercise 3 times per week.”
So you are doing GREAT!!!
I can’t wait to hear what you landed in as your non food reward!!
Best Maddie! 🎉🎉🎉🎉6 -

how do you feel? Depressed. I weighed myself today. I put on 4.4lbs. I don't understand. I have exercised and counted calories everyday. I am hoping its just hormones and I am bloating. I was so tempted to indulge myself with BK today with the mindset, I already put on weight, I might as well eat something I want and screw the rest. But I didn't. It wasn't easy. Especially as I put on a shirt this morning that the last time I wore it was more fitted, but now its a bit slack.... so why did the scale go up11 -
@transparentenigma That is definitely water weight and so many things can do that. A bit more salt, eating later in the day, or as you mentioned hormones. You should definitely be excited about the shirt! That is awesome
My NSV is I was looking at my passport photo this weekend and could not believe how much weight I had lost in my face. One of my co-workers is always mentioning in on our zooms but honestly I haven't noticed until I looked at that photo!

Loved the posts about our weight loss is not just about the scale. So true and yet a much needed reminder, it’s more than a number. Thank you for choosing those.
✅ exercised 35 bike, 30 arms and it says 7,100 steps, but that has to be a glitch. It’s probably half that.
✅ calories under - yup, just barely. I did an extra arm workout to ensure I had enough calories for dessert.
✅ tracked everything ate and drank6 -

Totally agree - but I tell ya... sometimes it is SOOO hard to feel victorious when the scale never budges!!! It’s nice to see these reminders and bring everything back into focus 😊
Exercise 20? Mmhmm... and push day and arms are jiggly.
Under calories? Mmhmm... somehow managed.
Logged all food/dranks? Mmhmm.
Last week of my current term - stoked for a couple weeks off before another round of classes!! Hope eveyone has a solid sleep tonight 🥱😴6 -

NSVs. Hm.
I have no more goal clothes? I fit in my 10s/12s/super small 14s that I had in a tote under my bed so I need to buy some new “too small clothes” to work towards fitting into. Also - I have to say this - it’s just dumb that women’s sizing is so consistent that I span 3 sizes like that 😂.
I am up to one 5 mile run a week, and I don’t think upping mileage again soon is out of the question.
Lovely to read everyone else’s NSVs. This is an amazing group ❤️

My NSV sounds really silly but it’s a big deal for me: I bought a package of lemon Oreo thins in January and I still haven’t finished eating the first sleeve. I’ve finally learned to have one or two Oreos and be satisfied with that.

NSV’s
I’ve developed a schedule for my eating that is working. 3 meals, 3 snacks with set times.
Without my really planning, this led to a new routine where I prep & cook dinner to hit a 7 pm dinner time. Healthier, more delicious, and I’m having fun cooking. This is a HUGE NSV for me/us as we were grabbing quick things (toast etc or frozen dinners (hubby) before. I’m super pleased.
Navigated health scare, husband in pain/itching from a scalp treatment, & end of life of our cat with rest, distraction, friends, and family - and only a little bit with extra food.
Worked hard to determine a direction to focus upon in my art. It’s obvious in hindsight - as Steve Jobs said - but it took awhile for me to connect the dots! This is a Huge Deal as I was feeling aimless & without purpose which was also leading to some extra food.
Hugs to all who need them; we all make a very inspiring & great team!
Weight loss/being healthy is about ALL aspects of our lives.
🌸🌺🌟🎉
