I got Moderna #1 vaccine shot yesterday, just after I got home from Bend. So far my arm only hurts at the injection site. But about an hour after I started feeling real tired and today I could have just slept the day away and sometimes a slight headache. Oh joy my next one is April 15, wonder what kind of mess I will be in then?

I see a lot of this (see image) happening at the moment. Is it just my device? It takes ingenuity to work out how the post was intended to be read!

Also ... what a difference a week makes. No swell and a view across the Irish Sea to the Lake District.

@k80flec - that is very strange. Everything looks fine on my screen so I suspect it's your computer's display gone haywire. Dave is our tech guru - he'll be back soon! Beautiful photo.

Sorry some people are having side effects from their vaccines. I had no reaction to my first dose of Pfizer other than mild soreness in my arm.

@K80flec = It was messed up on my screen as well. It’s not today but I’ve seen that a couple times from different people.

I also so the messed up print on mine and it actually showed on mine after posting. Made a correction and it cleared. I noticed it occurring with mine when I tried to post and saw it just spinning, like a bad connection.
@Janet: I had both shots of Pfizer. Both my hubby and I experienced slight sore to touch arm on the first one. I did have some weird watery eyes for a short while.

Hubby had a slightly sorer arm on the second. Mine was less sore than first. I did not have any side effects from Saturday morning through Monday morning. I had a temp around 94-95 for awhile when I woke. I had chills throughout the day and fatigue. Tuesday was fatigue and lightheaded till noon and poof, they were gone as if nothing happened. I would say that I had flu symptoms years ago that were much worse. I really have not been sick or with colds or flu for like 8 years now. I am just bodily falling apart...lol.

    4 miles.

As a nurse I'm glad to see everyone getting vaccinated. The side effects vary but they're a lot better than dealing with the actual disease at it's worst. I'm in a study and testing for antibodies every month until June and it makes me happy to see that line pop up on the test. Sadly, I'm the only one of the clinical staff in my office to have been vaccinated. We're small, so it's just three others but it's frustrating that they have not. Especially since some of our patients have Covid.

Here is the original message. (I got Moderna #1 vaccine shot yesterday, just after I got home from Bend. So far my arm only hurts at the injection site. My posts format properly. I have noticed that after I post something and after it posts the edit button does not show up unless I refresh the page.

    53/60

DH got his second jab Friday and was flue-y all weekend with him sleeping pretty much all of Saturday. I'm hopeful my dose next week goes well since it is on a Saturday. I was surprised that there is so much disagreement as to whether you should take OTC pain relievers before the injection. Our doctor said No, my dad & MIL and my brother's in-laws were all told by their doctors it was okay to take before but my sister that works for the VA said the answer is No as it can negate the vaccine. We each erred on the side of caution by waiting until we were home.

I get my second Shingles dose on Friday, from what I've heard it is pretty rough. My plan is to drink as much fluid including oj as possible. Also with that you have to take your ibuprofen after.

Also? I made meatloaf last night and I just realized (at noon) that I left my rings in the cup on the counter. I couldn't figure what was different until I put on lotion at my desk. OOPS. :o

@libi_kk It's not recommended you do two different vaccines within two weeks of each other. You really should finish one, wait two weeks and do the other. Check with your provider on this. I would skip premedicating for the Covid one with Tylenol or Ibuprofen, the research is showing it can dull the immune response. Of course if you get a fever of 100 or greater, than you can do so. And personally I thought the first Shingles dose was worse than the second.

    Added 1 mile at lunch.

@Kar:Concur with you.OTC pain relievers should not be taken before the vaccine. I stopped 48 hours before because it takes at least 12 hours to be out of your system. You can take it if needed after. Also, I talked to two professionals and was told not to get my shingles vaccine for at least 4 to 6 weeks after receiving Covid vaccine. Also women should not have mammograms for at least 4 to 6 weeks after Covid vaccine due to enlarged lymph nodes particularly on the side of the injection site.
