Just a friendly reminder that as we end the month, you are the one who reports your own score of Pass Days.
Many of the team members note their Pass Days in their daily post. On the other hand, just as many do not include that information during the month. No worries, both ways are right!
Starting tomorrow, please tell me/us if you expect to finish this month in the Winner's Circle.
You don't have to tell us until the end of the month, but the month is getting very short.
Thanks so much!!
Rick

So this morning, I actually went out for a run prior to join the group that I have been walking with most mornings for over a month. The run was for me. March has had lots of annoying distractions, which I do not handle well - at least from a dietary point of view. During my run, I clicked on a next podcast and it turned out to be very appropriate for me and also for yesterday's topic. You can check it out if you want. https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/conquering-emotional-eating/id1492747637?i=1000514309850
Yes @rangerrickL I am not a contender for anything this month, but that's ok.4 -

Yes @rangerrickL I am not a contender for anything this month, but that's ok.
however you have totally impressed me with your ability to maintain your weight well this month and to actually BE HERE and catch up with the family. I am missing a few of the regulars who seem to have gone MIA this month. sigh. To me it's quite easy to take a minute and just even put 3 check marks each day.
Speaking of which:
Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? yes
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? yes
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? yes
As for pass days. I have had 2 of 3 used this month so should be good to go.3 -

Exercise – yes bike ride plus a walk.
Tracking – no, family came to lunch, too bitty to track.
Calories ??
The grandchildren are all under 10 and very boisterous which keeps the atmosphere fairly happy, in spite of the situation. But after 4 hours I’m ready to say goodbye. It’s very tiring especially when I’m not sleeping well.
I’m obviously not in the Winners circle but I think I have reported in every day, (sometimes late!) and met the exercise criteria every day. Actually, as I haven’t gained weight I must have kept within my calories on average. I have found it relaxing to check in and read the posts, everyone’s successes, see the pictures, read inspiring quotes. I shall be back next month.

Thanks for the reminder 🌻, I wanted to do this for long. So today, I just did! I believe the recipe had too much 🍁 sirup in it, but I like the freezing idea. Mine is cumbly, though 🤔. Cutting slices of it 🍞 late is not a good idea - I had to taste the crumbles! 🤦♀️ Luckily I had plenty of calories left!
Today, my oldest finally decided to go for a 🏃♂️ with me. Leisure run, but at least I was outside for those 30 mins. 🌞 Then I let Caroline Girvan torture me for 1 whole h 💪, asking myself why I am doing this and being content about it at the end! 🎉
As for passes, I only used 1. Quite optimistic that it will stay at that!1 -

@Mrs_Hoffer has a fantastic almond flour pumpkin bread recipe. I made for son’s girlfriend who has gluten sensitivities.
Edit: found the recipe on my phone while walking the cats. https://www.eatyourselfskinny.com/the-best-almond-flour-pumpkin-bread/2 -
@summerskier I appreciate the positive spin you are putting on my discombobulated March.
Ps I have no clue how to make a check mark. Pointers? All my too-long posts are data for me as well. Each month, i print out my final post containing all my data and I have it all in a binder for easy reference.1 -

I hit 60lbs lost this morning. Woohoo! 21 more to go.
Today was a pass day as Hubs and I had a date afternoon and did an early dinner at a lovely little coffee shop with sandwiches, chips, and pecan tarts. Omg. Those tarts.
I decided today was an ok day for some extra calories because after my run yesterday I was dizzy enough to fall over when I stood up for a few hours after the run until I ate a bunch of carbs (within calorie limit) and they got digested. Seems like my body needed a day of not restricted calories so that’s what it got. It was a super yummy one too. Did I mention those pecan tarts? 🤤6 -

March (27)
Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? Yes, 1h 37 min of walking + 41 min of walking.
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? No,1,904/1,300
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? Yes, 2,430 ml of fluid.
Pass days:6/3
Calories burned: 31,286/35,000
Although I have eaten 1900 calories, I still have an extra 500, I do think today shouldn't be a pass day, since I'm way under my calories budget, but considered a pass for now. Nevertheless, if I do the same again in the future, I will not count it as a pass as long as the remaining calories are above 500. Will that be acceptable?
@RangerRickL Obviously, I'm not in the winner's circle, but do I qualify for the champion's circle?3 -
@mshawski Congrats on your loss. 60 is quite an accomplishment
@thabit11 In answer to your question, when I have asked similar ones in the past, I have been told that it is up to each of us to define if we have met "our goal" and whether or not a pass is owed. In earlier months, I never allowed myself to "use" my exercise calories. That certainly helped with my losses, but is harder to keep up over the long run. Bit by bit, I started changing my definition of "meeting goal" with more calories. Now in maintenance, it is still one of my challenges to define.2 -
Exercise? Yes, 45 min walking and some yard work

MARCH 2021 ULTIMATE ACCOUNTABILITY CHALLENGE
Start weight, March 1, 2021: 123.2March 1, 2021 – 123.2 (-3.0)
February 1, 2021 - 126.2 (-5.8); Tanita BF scale at 6 am 126.5 and 26%BF
January 1, 2021 – 132 (-3.6)
December 1, 2020 – 135.6 (-5.2)
November 6, 2020 – 140.8 (-7.0)
October 2, 2020 – 147.8 (-5.2)
September 14, 2020 – 153.0
Thoughts for daily calories goalI need to revisit how I am handling my daily calorie goal for maintenance as I am “failing” in that regard as I lost another 3 lbs while “maintaining” during this month. Having two variables of food calories and exercise calories is challenging for me. In the past I have lost and maintained with less significant exercise numbers so it was more a single variable. I do not want to drop back on exercise as I am doing it for overall health and fitness.
Just use MFP to calculate my maintenance calories/day. Nutritional needs are estimated at 1590, and it predicts that with exercise, I would need 1862 for 1 hour exercise for days/week. Average Apple Watch TDEE for February was 2126. Average calories consumed/day for February were 1686. With three pound loss over the month, to maintain, I would have needed an additional 375 calories/day for a total of 2073/calories/day. So, my thought for March is to consider my daily goal, 1590 plus daily exercise, but, for planning sake, I will expect that number to be around 1900 calories.

@RangerRickL Please add me to the Winner's Circle 🙏🏿
@thabit11 Before declaring a "pass day" based on calorie budget alone, I check my "Net Calories Under Weekly Goal" in the MFP app first. For example, had I done some exercise on MAR25, I could have avoided a pass day even though I ate almost 2x my usual daily calories. A drastic refeed (which tend to be 20-33% extra...not 100%), but I had lotsa "space" this week and now prefer to get close to my caloric needs as possible because I'm still in body recomp 🤷🏾

Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? YES

Personal Bonus: Did I meet my protein macro for the day (40%)? YES | 40%
Pass Days Used: (MAR16)(MAR25)Since my 40 lb KB is taking some getting used to, I've worked out my expected progression using a drop set approach with my 25 lb KB. However, I ended off the first week and then started the second week by advancing my workout progressions faster than expected.
The calendar has been adjusted as of MAR082021 to reflect that I may end up doing 8 sessions with only the 40 lb KB (not just 3, as laid out in the original plan). Still aiming for a consistent 30 min PR by month-end.
For the weekend of the 20 & 21, my times were faster because I wasn't required to do the 3 sets of ancillary exercises (weighted squats). But, it's also the first time I used the 40 lb KB exclusively.
The number in yellow indicates the number of minutes taken to complete the workout that day

Exercise--Yes, yoga

All pass days used
One thing that I have found about this challenge for me, which has been great, is that since I need to get 20 minutes of daily exercise in, I find on days where late in the evening I realize I haven't yet done my exercise, I will do a yoga workout. This has resulted in me doing a lot more stretching than I usually do, and stretching is something I really am trying to work on.4
