Today, I am opening with the perpetual debate, whether to weigh or not weigh. What relationship with the scale works for you?3 -
Finding some time today to better catch up on all the UAC posts. I wanted to take a moment and reach out to @shadowcookie1023 @josuabennett1983 @quillseek @cassy19fairy @theglwup @fmatti7 @maryf50 @suz_8589 @craftyislandgal @tenngal85 who are new June members who have been quiet recently. Now I weigh myself every day. Some ups and downs don't disturb me as long as downward tendency is there. But from the past I know that I avoided the scales when I knew that I am piling the kilos on as well as full-size mirror Then I was wondering how I could put extra 50 pounds even not "noticing" that.
3 yes day today. 30 minutes strength training.11 -
Sometimes I weigh every day, other times once every few days. All depends what I want to include in my tracking log for the day.
Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? Yes, a 60 minute BootCamp class, followed by a 1 hour and 40 minute trail walk. Hot and humid!
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? Yep
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? Yep

Rest day today but I definitely had enough active minutes among the various household and store trips today to call it a yes day.

I think it's important to weigh regularly regardless of what you are doing or your goals. How often depends on many things. Simply not weighing can only lead to uncaught weight or body changes you may not approve of until it's just too much too ignore any longer.
I currently weigh weekly on Sunday mornings right after waking up. I don't need to catch anything more quickly at this time as I'm still in the first half of large scale weight reduction using ketosis and intermittent fasting. As long as I stay in a caloric deficit and exercise the weight should (and is) going down. If I get stuck or things change in some undesired way it will need to be for a week or more before I will likely change the approach. So weekly is just fine for now.9 -

I weigh every morning. It removes so much frustration. I might be down 5 days in a row, up 2 days, and then down again. If I happen to only weigh on an “up” day, I get frustrated and wonder how that’s possible. Weighing every day I can see the direction the scale is taking despite a short term uptick. And now I have a confession (why do I feel like I’m admitting to being unfaithful?), I’m in another group that uses “true weight” which is some complicated algorithm that I don’t really understand. But it removes those weight swings, sort of an average but not.11

I weigh every morning and take a mean every 10 days. I find that removes the anxiety of the daily fluctuations. I use a spreadsheet, and the Happy Scale app.8 -

I do weigh in every single day. I have the Libra app (android) which is like the Happy Scale app. It shows that the "trend" is downward.
Today I walked into town on the bike path. I walked 6 miles in, went to Krogers and bought a pint of my favorite Rebel Triple chocolate ice cream and ate it before walking 6 miles back home!! This afternoon I had Mexican with my granddaughter for her birthday dinner. Her birthday was the day I was in the hospital having my appendix removed so we postponed until today! She's 21 weeks pregnant with my 3rd GREAT-GRANDBABY (Ivory Rose!) We had a terrific (Mexican) dinner and I brought half of it home so I wouldn't go over my calories! #win11 -
I try to limit stepping on the scale to every other or every 3rd or so morning. I tend to get compulsive so I am compulsive about not weighing compulsively. I only want to catch if I’m going in the wrong direction. I have a 5 pound spread so I average roughly in my head.

I weigh every day multiple times per day to get a feel of my body weigh throughout the day and then at night to see how the morning will look, cuz i usually do my exercise first thing in the morning7 -
While I was in Arizona during the winter, I did not have a scale. I tracked my intake and output. Most days, I recorded a intake below my maintenance calorie limit. My activity level was much higher in AZ than it is when I work in my office near Chicago, IL. Over the six months in AZ, I lost 15 pounds.
Now that I am back home, I weigh myself every Saturday morning.
Today's UAC report card:
Tracking: good
Exercise: over 90 minutes of outside activity walking and chores
Calories: well under my limit7 -

Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? Yes. I spent a total of 3 hours gardening (weeding and trimming). Today was the first day that it was not either raining or humid this month, and the tipping point for weeds in our yard was earlier this week. I only got the front yard done, but that is all neighbors and passers by can see! I also took a 20 minute walk.
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? Yes
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? Yes

Since starting on MFP in May, I have been weighing myself once per week. On Wednesdays -- I call them "Wednesday Weigh Ins." Getting on the scale every day is too frustrating. The daily fluctuations end up discouraging me instead of motivating me.

@Mrs_Hoffer – Congratulations on your growing family! I can’t believe from your photos that you are a great-grandmother.
@stella7x7 – Walking the dog is exercise!
@NJPate – Congratulations on your weight loss! You are moving in the right direction!

Yes x 3 today and yesterday.
I have a difficult relationship with the scale. I feel like I have a healthier relationship with my body when I'm not focused on a number (using the way my clothes fit as my guide), but I also know that I gain weight when I stop paying attention. Right now I'm weighing in once a week. I'm not sure that's sustainable--I stress out about the natural fluctuations in my weight--so I may have to make this a monthly check, rather than weekly.8 -
Yes x 3.
I weigh every day, sometimes a couple times a day. I may have OCD though...7 -
Yes, I weigh everyday. It’s great accountability for me and helps me quickly adjust if the number starts climbing

Exercised? Yes. It wasn't what I was hoping for but I got 45 minutes of a leisurely and short bike ride. I rousted my daughter from her bed at 4:30 this morning and made her ride with my sister and I. My daughter is SMI and her issues have proven over the past three years to be medication resistant. One of her current treatment procedures is pretty intense, causing memory loss and some cognition issues. Her self-confidence is shot to hell, she is out of shape, and this was her first ride "on the open road" (so to speak), as I've been having her practice in the parking lot of the office building next door. Within a mile, she had an anxiety attack and was having difficulty catching her breath. She stuck it out for another mile, but then we had to turn back (after giving her time to calm herself) or risk having her pass out on the side of the road. So we got 4 miles in total and she says she'll try it again (big, big win right there). I plan to go out by myself tomorrow morning for at least 20 miles. (We're under an extreme heat advisory here in AZ so, honestly, if I don't drag myself out of bed by 4:30 or so, not much is going to happen in the way of exercise tomorrow). LOL
Within calorie goals? Oh, dear, I don't even think I was in the same state. Stress, frustration, my own anxieties, all culminated in a terrible day of eating.
Tracked everything? I did. And, le sigh... I was right... my calories were *not* even in the same state as my goal.
I weigh everyday, first thing in the morning. I weigh 3-5 times, with a 15-30 second break in between to let the scale sort of reset. Then I take an average. It was going down this week. It will be up tomorrow. But I'll do my best to get my head on straight and get back to what I know I need to do.7 -
Yes x 3 today.
When I lost my initial 30 lbs I weighed and logged my weight every single day. This time I'm much less dedicated to weighing, not too sure why though!7
