Good Morning!
There are days that I feel good, and days like yesterday, where the fatigue is over powering. I just felt wiped out all afternoon. I went to bed at 7:30. I don't know why I get so fatigued. It is still early this morning, but I might be doing better today. Connie does not always understand, and tends not to be as patient as I would hope. I have been on these new meds a week, tomorrow. Last night my BP was 147/89. Not really down yet. My weight has gone UP nearly 5 pounds in the last week, so that is going for me.I just have to be patient. This will turn around, and I will start feeling better, and I will start losing weight again. I am keeping up with walking on the treadmill, short walks with the dog in the evening, and riding the bike a couple of times a week for about 15 minutes.
Bill, I hope that Heather is able to stay safe, and I hope that her situation resolves itself quickly. This COVID is still some scary stuff. I am back to wearing a mask again, except for when I am at my desk in my office.
Our air is still smoky from all of the fires in the west.
Have a great day!0 -
Mornin'
Did a nice hike with 2 GDs and DD. Found out it was the first time the girls ever climbed a mountain. Nice views and good weather. We spent 20 extra minutes on the peak tossing crackers into a pond full of 100s of goldfish. Entire hike took less than 3 hours, but was a lot of fun.
Steve, I hope you get your health situation figured out. I know for myself that ßeta blockers knocked me for a loop--I got very lethargic and eventually had to stop taking them. But everybody is different, and different drugs work differently. Stay in touch with your doc till you get this worked out.
Packing and preparing meals today while still cleaning stuff from last trip. We head to the campground Friday. I feel like the old Dunkin "time to make the donuts" commercial with all these camping trips. I will still schedule a longer trip up north, probably alone, in the fall. It's nice getting to be with family, especially these days, but there's something special about the solitude of wilderness and inspiring majestic scenery.
Have a great day everyone.0 -
Good morning gentlemen.
It appears there was a tie, between Steve and Lee, but more entries, here, on Steve's thread.
Really sorry to read about your struggles, Lee, and Steve. Praying things get better, soon.
Great fun visiting the pups. I seem to have picked one, or, rather, she picked me, as the pup who was most friendly and playful with me. Rita isn't completely fine with that, but she got along great with all of them. Sorry, I didn't take any photos.
Bought a new mower, while we were in Salem. The big box is still in the car. I'll unload, unbox and assemble this morning and then mow the lawn. Love new tools of any kind.0 -
Good Afternoon,
Steve, it has been proven that one can lower BP with meditation. Close eyes breathe in slowly through nose (I count to 8) hold a second then exhale through mouth (I count to 12). Once you have breathing down think about awe in world; sun rise, sun set, clouds in sky, rain that supplies water to plants, trees and us; lighting supplies nitrogen for plants, a rainbow at end of rain, stars and moon at night to guide us. The love we receive from others. Recommend you do this for 3 - 5 minutes couple times a day. Whether we realize it or not each of us are blessed and loved.
Puppies are so sweet and loveable, Sassy will be a great addition. Enjoy new mower.
Mike, family time is GREAT, getting to see the awe that is provided is such an added bonus
Tramadol can stop one up causing discomfort, especially if taking more than 100 mg daily. I take 50 mg 3 times daily and Movantik to offset side effects. I really take too many drugs but I'm able to keep on keeping on. Lee, advice to Steve may help you, yoga and meditation does wonders for body and mind.1 -
Good Morning but barely morning.
I was up and out early for blood work and then relaxed with some great coffee, ran a few errands, and got to work around here when I realized I never checked in. Conf Calls today for Miracle Friends while I try to get a couple of loads of laundry done before peak power rates kick in. I have about recovered from my last PT session and will start working out again. I switch to pool therapy next week. Hopefully, things will calm down physically.
I am a big fan of meditation or mindfulness. I found it to be a big help with pain, stress and keeping my cool. Best thing one of my old Drs ever introduced me to. Helpful at night sometimes to settle in for sleep. You can't beat the price either!0 -
Sam and Bill. I agree whole heartedly! I am using the Calm app. It has been wonderful for me.0
