Sorry for your loss, Steve. What a shame...
My visit with DD yesterday was great. Older DD showed up with her dog and we all went for a walk in the town forest there. Walked 2 miles while dogs swam in the stream, and 3 y.o. Danny discovered little toy dinosaurs someone had hidden in nooks along the way. And I got to hold little DGD Mae while DD baked cookies afterward (only had one).
Doc says BP is only systolic hypertension--prescribed a diuretic which will help control systolic but not affect diastolic pressure, which was mostly normal. Said to report back every few days on how I feel and pressure readings for various times of day. I will see the nurse in 4 weeks and the doc in 3 months to make sure things are okay. Also thinks I might have sciatica, will maybe Xray to rule out arthritis or do PT. Got my flu shot. A good visit.
I think my friend might be bailing out on our camping trip--his wife's sister was supposed to come and stay with her while he was gone, but that's not coming together so good. We might change our plans -- shorten the trip or go somewhere closer -- or I might just go alone again. Want to do this before the weather turns cold. Northern Maine can have snow in the fall...
A very chilly and foggy morning here. Have a great day.0 -
Mornin' BBB.
Sorry for your family's loss, Steve.
Hope the camping trip happens for you and your friend, Mike. Even if it is abbreviated.
Congrats on the new bike, Sam! Stylin' on the super glide.
Got in over 15K steps and bouquet zone minutes yesterday. Although midday, around 10K steps, I felt like doo-doo. Fatigued and all my joints were screaming. Took a midday tramadol and sat in the truck with AC on and drank my coffee I always bring. Felt better and got more stuff done when I got home. Not feeling great this am either. Temperature is normal, but am congested. I will continue to take temperature through the day.

Good Morning!
Lee, take care of yourself. I get the tired thing. I have just been wiped out this week. I went to bed at 6:30 last night. Vacation starts at 4:00 this afternoon.
Sam, congratulations on the motorcycle! Wow!
Connie and I have no plans while I am off next week. We'll do a series of small day trip type things. No big projects I hope, but I will get several small projects off the list.
My boss is gone today, so I get to be boss for a day. Oh joy!
Have a great day!0 -
Good morning gentlemen.
Hope the canoe camp trip happens, Mike. I love getting your reports, so I can camp in the north woods vicariously.
Yesterday Sassy was running toward a garden bed and I lunged awkwardly to step on her leash. Instant pain in my upper thigh - a lot of pain. I have self diagnosed a level 2 groin strain. Been doing the RICE thing, but these things take a long time to heal. I'd like to spend the whole day in my recliner, but I need to go buy dog food.
Sassy had another first, this morning. When she woke me up, at 5, and I took her out to do her business, it was raining lightly. She didn't like it - wanted to head straight back inside the door. As a Pacific Northwest pooch, she will have to get used to wet bathroom breaks.0 -
Good Morning
Congratulations on the bike Sam! You better start saving big time for her birthday!
Sorry to hear about the groin. Hopefully, your diagnosis is off and it will respond quickly and keep you on the trail.
Tough Covid day yesterday. My supermarket had one of the two checkers with a mask barely hanging on her upper lip. I got in the other line. The guy in front of me was flying his mask at half-ma as well and kept walking back to get something else. I kept backing up. The manager actually was talking to the one checker about her break and said nothing. I was going to leave my cart and let him know why but just stayed 10ft back and paid and left. I get home and got a text from Heather that there was a Covid exposure in the room adjacent to hers. That room is now closed for quarantine. I have little compassion left for those who don't give a damn about their community. I will write the headquarters of the market to let them know why they lost a 29 year customer. Heather and I are hoping we will qualify for boosters soon. The Federal Jury duty reporting system is not working. It tells me not to report but to check back after 5 pm on Thursday 9/16.0
