Today is Friday! I know, for you retired guys every day is Friday. Even Connie says that sometimes. But for us working stiffs, Friday is a great day.
I am way over tired going into today. The boss is going to be out today, so maybe it will just be a quiet day.
Connie spoke for MADD in Kansas City, Kansas last night. That is two in one week. It is very draining. Her next one is December 6, and that will be the last one of the year.
We are supposed to have some nice weather this weekend, so I'm hoping to get some good yard work in. I have to mow, and trim some bushes. Stoopid deer knocked down Connie's Bracken's brown magnolia to a stub. I am going to put a fence around it, and see if we can nurse it back in the spring. Those deer are destructive during rut.
Collin got the job at the local Ace Hardware, and starts Monday morning. It is a seasonal position, but should give 32 hours a week. At least he will be working. It is a start.

Mornin' gents.
TGIF.
Took tylenol ER before bed because I had a super active day in the field dog training and I could feel it in all my joints. It was not enough. I woke up just before midnight in a lot of discomfort so found my way to the medicine cabinet and took a tramadol. It took an hour, but then joint pain wasn't bothering me and keeping me awake, but I don't sleep soundly on tramadol. Catch-22.
I have been taking at least one tramadol a day for last few months and want to eliminate from my routine medical regimen. So yesterday morning, I didn't take one. Guess my joints disagreed.
Finally got Co-Pay Card functioning. Customer service for the card said it would cover my entire co-pay. Score! Not sure why my Rheumatologist's office did not inform me of this before I filled my first script. Or my insurance.
Can't wait for DST. I could be walking the dogs at 6:30 am.
Prayers for Connie and her ministry with MADD. Prayers for Collin as well.
Deer are destructive. Isn't it deer season in Kansas? A crossbow would take care of business in a very silent manner.
Be OP ;-)

Good morning gentlemen.
All the states on the West Coast passed legislation to stay on DST year-round. But it requires approval from either Congress or the secretary of commerce, so we still have to turn our clocks back this weekend. I'd rather have it dark in the morning than at 4:30 in the afternoon.
A neighbor behind us seems to have acquired a large dog, which he chose to leave outside last night. Whenever I took Sassy out and turned the lights on, the dog started to bark. That, literally, scared Sassy s***less and she raced back inside. As a result, she was up extra early and demanding a trip to the backyard this morning.
I hope you can work through all the medication issues and find a balance that works - and doesn't drive you to the poor house, Lee.
The grandkids are coming over for the night, while their parents attend the annual Warren Miller film (it's a skiing thing). The kids would go, too, but the theater requires proof of vaccination and they haven't had the chance to get theirs, yet.0 -
Morning
Another frosty morning here. DB visit postponed again—turns out his son’s relatives have a wedding this weekend.
Started building the clock mainspring winder. Cut my knuckle picking up a new titanium drill bit. Those things are sharp. Trying to get the bandaid to stay on.
Still trying to do all the daily PT for my hip. It still hurts, but I should, of course, expect that.
Ahhh. Getting old. When I was a boy, my father used to say, “Michael, never get old.” Couldn’t understand what he was talking about.

Ouch about the deer Steve and Connie's stressful week. Yup Mike getting old is not for the timid. I have mixed feelings about year round DST. When working it was a no brainer that I would like it better with at least some light later in the day come fall.
Sorry about your pain Lee. I too found that taking certain pain relievers late in the day disrupted my sleep too.
Off for an early ride.0 -
Good Morning
I complained to my Dr about 15 years ago about various aches and pains and he just looked at me and said "getting old sucks". He didn't lie.
I managed to cut my thumb trimming some TriTips I bought untrimmed. Took a couple of hours and went through more than a few bandaids and tissues to get it under control. Didn't get much done keeping my hand up and not using it and had to skip my warm pool workout. Tutoring and hopefully some chores today.0
