What are your favorite ways to add more fruit and vegetables to your diet?10 -
7th Nov 2021
* 20 min pram walk
* 190 calories under
* Tracked every BLT
* Sugars over
* 1 pass day used 4th Nov
Great post @LazyBlondeChef and some great ideas which I shall def use. I like cooking up a huge plate of veggies then drizzling over what ever sauce we hve cooked for dinner so tonight was butter chicken so I had only 50grams of chicken then had 300grams of veggies. It means i can eat sooo much more but still hve the same flavour.
I also love veggie sticks with Tzatziki for lunch as it's a low calorie dip so u get a lot of bang 4 ur buck!
Fruit with a dollop of yougurt and cinnamon makes it taste like a dessert.
I load corn thins up with bannana and cottage cheese or tomato and cottage chesse as they are so low in fat that u can hve sooo many of them. I had 6 today for lunch lol! Gives the illusion that ur hving sandwiches.
Night guys

One of the biggest changes I still have to make is sustainable uptick on the fruits and veggies intake .... ESPECIALLY the veggies! Thanks for the Topic Post today, @LazyBlondeChef !
I already have warmed fruit mixed into greek yogurt for many a lunch ... what veggies do people like to grill? I might try some of that over the winter as a change from popcorn for my evening snack
Can they be batch-grilled ahead of time, and then re-heated serving by serving? Any recipe link suggestions? (those can go in "What's On Your Mind" thread to be easier to find a second and third time, but DO mention hear what what you put there ... so that I and others will know to go look!)3 -
@LazyBlondeChef and @Chinkiri: love the post and the pic! I also have used the strategies to wrap my sandwich in a veggies and treat carrots like chips.
Way to go for posting

Exercise? Yes, bike ride and cardio workouts
Tracked? Yes, every BLT
Calories? Yes, well under.
I don’t feel the need to “sneak” my veggies in as I like almost all fruit and veg and happy to eat tons of them. I have fruit at breakfast, large mixed salad at lunch and another 3 or 4 portions of veg with dinner followed by more fruit with yogurt for dessert. Usually at least 8 servings a day.
Roasted is yummy but expensive to heat the oven just for one person so I only have roast veg when I’m cooking the protein in the oven. Left over roast veg is good in soup, but can be warmed up in a frying pan to crisp it up again. I use my steamer and keep my cauli, broccoli, cabbage etc slightly crunchy, and as Donna says, whatever sauce you’re having over them.
I have tried spiralising veg but came to the conclusion it’s too much bother – I’m happy to have a small portion of pasta with broccoli, green beans, cauli, whatever I have to hand mixed with the pasta without spiralising the veg.

Since I maintain fewer than 30g net carbs per day the only fruit I eat is avocado (usually 1 whole avocado per day) and even veggies are limited to the leafy green varieties and broccoli and cauliflower for the most part. Since medium avocado counts as 3 servings I tend to hit 5+ servings of veggies per day somewhat easily. I'll toss some spinach in a smoothie or saute some with just about anything, and love shrimp and broccoli. So despite being so limited in the fruits and veggies, I get plenty, averaging quite a few more servings per day than the average American.4 -

Class at gym.
Pass days remaining: 1 (flagged for Thanksgiving)
The classes I take at the gym aren’t open to all members, they cost extra - and the way they’re redesigning the gym I think my small but mighty squad of classmates is not making the gym enough money for the gym to keep us. It’s not official but the writing is on the wall. This makes me quite sad and I’m going to have to find a new routine if they get rid of them. Perhaps even a new gym, or a studio that solely does classes since I don’t actually ever use the gym part of my gym. Orange Theory has a location near me - does anyone have any experience with them?5 -

We do grilled peppers all types even stuffed with a little cheese, eggplant, zucchini summer squash, onions just about whatever may hold together well even corn on the cob. My husband did some huge carrots we got at the market and they were sweet.
Anyway I went for a walk today just me and my ear pods nice sunny late fall day. Ordered an early Christmas gift for myself but told hubby and our son they can use it, a rower for home that’s one piece of gym equipment I miss. I hope it arrives soon. Tracked and logged.7 -
Yes x 3 today--managed a 30-minute ride on my Myx bike and a 10-minute upper body workout as well. I guess I put my "fall back" hour to good use!
I love to make sheet pan dinners with lots of roasted veg--only one pan to clean, and minimal oil. Adding a different combination of fresh herbs and spices keeps things interesting.3 -

We love freggies around our house as well.... usually not a problem getting them in! Today's exercise was a 5.5 mile walk outside. It was beautiful weather today!
We had our Christmas photo shoot today with my 4 great-grandbabies wearing the little outfits I crocheted for them! I can't wait to get the pics back! This one was snapped by one of my granddaughters! (Santa was a bust because the 2 older girls were terrified of him!)

Precious photo @Mrs_Hoffer!! Who needs Santa anyway with such a stunning photo op, lol.
I love fruits and vegetables so I usually don't have an issue fitting them into my day. Lately I've been making a recipe from MFP for a pumpkin smoothie that has a half cup of riced cauliflower in it. I chose to make that recipe over other ones for the extra nutritional kick of the cauliflower.
Yes x 3 today -- getting back on track after veering off the plan Friday night & yesterday. I had to carefully manage what I ate today to allow for an ice cream treat during family movie night (It's more "documentary" night; we are currently working through Flint Town; highly recommend it if you haven't seen it yet.)6 -
Exercise: over an hour walking game PLUS longest outdoor roundtrip in the neighbourhood on a warm (for fall) and sunny afternoon. Feels strange to be looking at Full Dark before 6:00!
Logged all: (had to guesstimate something for the home-made beef stew, but picked from the high end of options to be on the safe side.
Within Range: near as I can tell. Probably overestimated calories eaten with the stew, was brutally honest about the serving size bread that went with it .. but still a decent chunk of earned exercise calories in the pot.
Not wanting any evening snack anyhoo, as (a) stew was so filling and (b) it FELT like we ate a late heavy meal.

DW makes homemade yogurt for my breakfasts. She makes a little more than a week's worth in the instantpot. I add fruit nuts and raisins in various combinations.

I love fruits and veggies! On a typical day my husband makes a fun cut up fruit salad with whatever we have on hand so I usually get quite a few servings of fruit that way. It's a lot of work to cut and prep the variety that he does so it's greatly appreciated.
We do meal kits quite a few nights so a salad or some sort of roasted or sauteed veg is always the star. I love roasted veggies most - crispy bits are my jam.
I do occasionally do fruit smoothies or yogurt bowls with fruit in the morning as well. We also like cut up fruit for snacks - this summer we ate so much darn watermelon!6 -
Craziness took over. But I stuck with all three.
I worked out for 45 minutes (I usually keep Sunday as a rest day).
I tracked and kept (barely) within my calories.6 -

LOL, Vegetables are the mainstay of my diet, front and center! Love them!

Yes x3 today! I didn't track the last two days at all, so I guess I will call them pass days. Really struggling to keep my motivation up these days.8

Yes to all three ✅✅✅
Love my vegetables — salads and soups depending on the season. I have trouble getting the protein in, but never the fibre, fruits, and veg.
