Welcome to the Weekend!
Lets take time to relax and just enjoy Saturday. Perhaps think of one thing that's happened during the day which made you smile?1 -

Saturday Nov 13
Today is a pass day for me. I didn't go crazy with calories and I did track all of breakfast and lunch but I didn't track our Thai meal at dinner nor get exercise for a number of reasons.
Something that made me smile today (the question posed above) happened a few minutes ago, when my youngest daughter opened up to me about things that were on her mind. Not smiling that she had things on her mind, but that she finally stopped bottling it all up inside and trusted me to listen.

"Perhaps think of one thing that's happened during the day which made you smile?"
After so much rain these last couple of days, I saw the sun shining bright earlier this morning. That made me smile really big! However at some point this morning the sun went away and it's now quite foggy out. But I'm still smiling because I'll STILL be able to get in a run this morning without getting wet. The rain doesn't start up again until late afternoon.
The OTHER thing that made me smile this morning was the number on the bathroom scale. My weight is back down to where it was Thursday morning before I got into the Halloween candy and some other junk. Of course the gain was water weight but still, it's nice the weight came back down so quickly after one day of eating right!
Thursday - 135.8
Friday - 137.4
Saturday - 135.8
This month's goal is to get under 135. A pound to go....8 -

Exercise – yes, a 40 minute bike ride this morning and a short walk this afternoon plus a couple of short cardio sessions
Tracked – yes
Calories – yes (providing I keep the snacking under control this evening)
I didn’t get as much exercise as usual for two reasons: 1) I spent a fair amount of time this afternoon cooking – batch cooking for the freezer. 2) I spent far too much time this afternoon on the x-stitch app!! (I may have to uninstall it until my holiday.) I have less than 9,000 steps so far and can’t see me getting up to 12,000 before I go to bed.

Yes x3
Bought a bikini on the w/e which is really lovely but also has made me think that I need to mix things up by adding more to my workouts so i can tone up. I switched to maintaince in Sep so this is my 3rd month of getting use to it...grazing and maintaince is still my area of focus this month but I think at same stage soon I'll need to look at adding to my workouts as I dnt want to take any more or a calorie deficit.
What made me smile?? Big hugs with hubby. Xo

Things nearly went downhill. I took my daughter to dunkin donuts. She has been wanting to go for months so I ended up having a couple of donuts. I managed to get back on track with an hour on zwift and taking my dogs for a walk. Used the few spare calories I had left on protein powder :-)5 -

What made me smile today? In my walking game (as part of "reinforcement to get you coming back each day) you make a rainbow. I just HAPPENED to make the rainbow at the correct moment for it to create an arc up past the tail / down in front of the nose of the airship as it flew by that particular piece of sky. The timing doesn't always work out so perfectly.
What made DH smile today? Spotting the cheese&broccoli stuffed frozen chicken pieces I got at the grocery store (not the chain we most commonly shop at)3 -

✅✅✅
But only after forcing myself onto the treadmill for a 30 minute brisk walk and doing an additional 9 flights of stairs. Didn’t allow myself to have any of my exercise calories today (as I had for the past two VERY high activity days). Lower energy level today. Processing yesterday’s news and it was honestly too cold outside for a walk.
The reminder to consider something that made us smile was well timed @SummerSkier — thank you 💛
Finished two books today (each was started earlier in the week) and I loved them both: The Magic Strings of Frankie Presto by Mitch Albom, and The Rose Code by Kate Quinn. Escaping into reading brings me a lot of joy. I have started on two more books so that should keep me smiling. I also went back and sang all my November song challenge picks to date and selected some potential options for the next week.

Back on track after my pass day, and feeling better.
What made me smile is my kids (ages 5 and 9) getting their first COVID shot! (And an even bigger smile was that my wife was the one who actually took them and got to deal with the last-minute resistance from both of them). They are very excited to be able to get back to a more "normal" life where we go to indoor playspaces and do indoor playdates (which the 5 year old does not even remember).6 -

yes for 3.
Wow what a day! Been busy putting things away in my new craft organizer. Wow it turned into a decluttering! Love what it has done for my craft area! even got the tree down. It has been exhausting close to 20,000 steps today. Had lots of fun with my daughter. Now to finish and post a photo.5 -
It was a pass day for me mostly for not recording. Food was reasonable though likely a little on the high side.
It was a surprisingly good day for smiles. One that comes to mind is when I sent a text by mistake to a group (as opposed to a designated individual) asking them if they would like to join me at a future walk event. I was about to apologize for the text when I got the excited response of 'why yes, we would love to do this with you!' This is not a group of people that I would have expected to have said yes so it made me really happy. The unintentional mixup brought many smiles to my face throughout the day thinking about how funny things work out.6
