Got in a 1 mile hike yesterday, and did all my PT exercises. Woke in the night with sciatica-like pain, but gone now.
After church will be going to DD's for a family gathering of unknown, possibly epic proportions.
Talked to DD in Bali last night. She dropped something heavy on her foot and can't walk, can't get household/personal help, hasn't seen a doctor. Says it was just a cut that's healing and only a sore tendon inside. Got her on the phone with her sister who told her to get an xray and meanwhile stay off it.
Have a good day.0 -
Good morning!
Mike, I hope that your daughter is OK. Prayers for her. I need to get out for a hike.
I did a little bit of yard work yesterday. Connie ordered a new end table with "some assembly required". This is not a tough table to put together, but it can become very difficult if the don't include the hardware packet. I reached out to customer service, but they are closed on weekends.
I'm not sure what today will bring. We are still having warm weather before a cold front moves in tonight. I might do a little more yard work.
Have a great day!0 -
Mornin' gents.
Mike, we must have been starting at the same time but I got distracted and never commented. So I am jumping in on your start. I love big family gatherings until someone decides to start some drama. Glad your sciatica disappeared. Hoping your DD foot is OK.
Gorgeous chilly day here. Got in over 7 miles yesterday and no exhaustion. Still a bit achy and sore but I am encouraged. I think my Rheum Doc nailed my diagnosis of PsA. It sucks, because it does limit me and I probably have to take medication long term, but it is not cancer thank goodness.
The lady who is renting us the apartment in Germany for our December stay just emailed us because the COVID cases are spiking there and if the rate hits 1000/day then there will be a complete shutdown and no Christmas in Germany. Supposedly Germany is 69% vaccinated. We will have to have our vaccine cards along with our passports to travel.
Bill, hope you had a nice birthday.
How are you doing, Sam?
Be OP ;-)

Good Morning
Mike, I hope your daughter’s foot is OK and she follows up and gets it checked.
Lee, Covid isn’t over and I know Europe is struggling again. I assume all the travel doesn’t help. I hope your Christmas visit can be saved. I am glad you think they got the PsA diagnosis right. There comes a time that the long term meds just become part of life’s routines. Today I refill pill the weeks pill cases. I don’t think about it anymore.
I had a quiet day yesterday with Heather. A nice Greek meal, we shared Moussaka with a salad for lunch and walked around Livermore, before and after. A big recommend for Belfast. An intriguing film wonderfully done in B&W capturing a vignette of one family and neighborhood during the Catholic/Protestant strife in the 60’s. Nicely done Mr Spielberg. I am sleeping a lot now. I suppose an indication of what crappy shape I am in now. But you face forward and start again. I asked a cute redhead to go for another walk today. That and easing back into exercise will help as well as eating better again. This last pain spike reallyknocked me off my game. My son comes out tonight and we will go for Chinese at our favorite place. Some skillful ordering and portion control should keep things somewhat sane.

Good morning gentlemen.
I missed your birthday, Bill. Many happy returns.
Lee, a friend recently returned from traveling to several countries in Europe and the Middle East. In addition to vaccine cards, expect to have to get Covid Tests and fill out contract tracing documents for every border crossing, too. Hope it all goes well, for you.
For some reason, amid all the dining options we have around here, there isn't a single decent Chinese restaurant within 30 miles of us. We miss good Chinese food.0 -
So far it is not required, but we plan on getting PCR tested 3 days prior to flying. Currently, we do not plan on traveling outside of Germany.0

Back from Puerto Vallarta. ) 0.2 LB less than when I left. I'll take it. Mexico has an online health questionnaire you must fill out and get a QR code on your cell phone. US requires vaccination card AND covid testing within 3 days of returning to US. I got the Antigen test 2 days before returning to US and had my vaccination card.
Belated happy b-day to Bill!!
Wow Mike sending good Ts and Ps to your daughter in Bali OUCH!!
Had my studded traction tires on just for the icy wetland bridges biking this a.m.
Good to be home for sure.
Lee currently you must get tested within 3 days of returning to US as you probably know. Right now either PCR or Rapid antigen testing are acceptable

Fixed breakfast for Methodist men this morning, then early church service then Sunday school; tonight will go up to live nativity on church lawn. Going to skip charge conference which is for full district this afternoon. Thursday we will host a luncheon for our Sunday School class.
Going to wait for a very cold wet day in January or February to go looking for a new trike, more app to be willing to deal when sales are low.
Don't know if I reported, they have decided I have a compressed nerve in leg that could take a couple years to heal. Hand seems to be improving for now, told not to expect it to continue but I know some doctors are wrong.0 -
Yup, i meant it currently isn't required to get tested prior to entering Germany. Definitely gotta get rested before coming back to US.0
-
Glad hand seems better, Sam. Did you do something physically to compress the nerve in your leg or did it just happen with your normal daily activities?0
-
My friend had to be tested before entering Germany, but he was flying from Turkey, not the U.S., so country you're coming from probably is a factor.0
