No time like the present. There is a LOT of extra damage to be done by waiting until ... tomorrow... Monday, Jan 1.... etc. Procrastination is the road to failure.

Oh boy, this is so me right now. I have been having an inner tug of war with a January 2nd reset vs. trying to pull myself together. I am really struggling...today was pass day #5.

Even if it IS a pass day .... did you manage to do ANY of the three? Be sure to proudly claim credit for at least that! And you ARE acting like a CHAMPION by continuing to show up and reporting!!

    Tracked - Yes
    Within Calories - Yes
Exercise - No, I didn't want to push myself with activity since I'm still not feeling 100% after Thursday's pfizer booster. Happy that I'm feeling better than yesterday and perhaps by tomorrow I'll feel pretty much back to normal. Want to be able to meet my running partner Monday for a run so want to give my body plenty of time to rest and recover from my reaction to the shot.

    5 pass days used.

    Tracked all ✅
    Calories (@maintenance - visitors)✅

Great opening post. Every day counts. Each bite counts. Each step or rep counts.

I am not a good at losing weight which helps keep me vigilant.

Planning to cut back on the cheese as of right now :)

Why do we buy into stuffing ourselves with rich, calorie-laden food which makes us feel like total c#@p? (I include myself in this group)

    Festive Temptation
    (19/12/2021)

Big business rubs it’s hands with glee
    at our susceptibility.
They wheedle, tempt us with their wares,
    and clever advertising snares.
Don’t take their bait! Be strong! Resist!
    From those festive treats, Desist!
Big business’s profit is our loss!
Don’t clog your innards with their dross!
    Use moderation with festive food.
A LITTLE of what you fancy does you good.

I did a good job yesterday!
    Exercise - Half hour walk
    Tracking - Planned the day
    Calories - followed the plan
Pass days so far - 9?
And today's going to be another one as we head off to a Christmas Brunch.

@SummerSkier I like your opener. I have been thinking about this month like when I am procrastinating from doing work. Like @jamcnewman said, being in limbo is the worst. Sometimes I just need to give myself a stern talking to from procrastination and get back to work. But sometimes I need to recognize that my brain is telling me I really need a break - and actually take that break and enjoy that break and then return to work refreshed. The worst is when I can't tell which is it is, and I keep sternly talking to myself while continuing to procrastinate and I don't get work done or rest done and wind up feeling terrible about myself and not rested at all.

I think in terms of weight loss this month, I do need to just embrace the procrastination, to a limited extent, and enjoy the days off.

Today is one of those days off. I have already planned out my food for breakfast (at 7), lunch (at 11), and dinner (at 5:30). We're also having a Christmas Brunch at 2pm, which is pretty close to my usual afternoon snack time (3pm), but not a mealtime at all. I am just going to embrace the pass day and enjoy having nibbles of what I want to nibble. I've planned my meals as normal (a little on the light side) because I think that will set me up for best success of remembering I am there to enjoy seeing people and not for the food. Also that the food will make me sick if I eat too much of it. But I will definitely be over for the day - but I am going to enjoy it and not feel bad about it, because that is what works for me.

    Yes x3

I'm so guilty of this in the past! "Oh I'm over my calories. Oh well back on it tomorrow might as well order a giant cheeseburger" "well I can just restart in January right? December is a write off".

I've been much better this time round. So for example I know I'm going to have lots of pass days in December with Christmas and multiple birthdays. So I decided to lower my calorie goal for the whole month by a couple of hundred calories to mitigate the damage and my aim is to minimise the pass days and not use them as go crazy days.
