Covid may be raging, but find a way to get some practice! Zoom class, parks, home practice - don't let it slip away.

This Saturday I will be in class and today I will be setting up a training schedule with my oldest. My running group is back this week as well, so I am bursting back into activity

Monday: Rest (This new schedule feels very strange to start the week with a rest day... but I should get used to it soon)

Tuesday: Conditioning - really glad I resisted practicing Monday, as my muscles really needed the recovery after hard training last week.

I'm wanting to change things up on my training schedule - I'll continue my current plan through this week and see how it feels, but currently I'm pushing very hard on the conditioning, to the point that recovery is reducing the intensity of MA training, and as I approach my testing, I need to put more focus on the MA side to make sure my technique is on point.

So with that said, I'm eyeballing my schedule and thinking about dialing the conditioning back about 10% and adding in 3 morning MA workouts / week - though it means that I'll need to be extra disciplined about my sleep schedule.

You changed your name! I love it!

I am really feeling the back to school change. We have made a lot of changes in the home routine, so there are adjustments to that. I'm making excuses, I know. But I am just so exhausted in the afternoon/evening. I think I need to change my runs from pm to am or they won't get done

I'm glad you like the name change!

I totally understand about scheduling... that seems to be the hardest part of training sometimes!

It is also one of the reasons I committed to a specific date for testing... now that I have a deadline, suddenly my schedule makes room somehow.

I just rediscovered this group after a few years. It's been 4 years since my last confession!
So far this week for karate:
Mon - I'm trying to drop Monday classes from my schedule but since my sons were going I went along to watch. Ended up teaching
Thurs - back to normal training. First week back and the class size was small, plenty of space for kata refreshers and a bit of fighting with the other ladies
Sunday will be my next training session.
Between these I've managed 4 weights sessions and some solo stretching / mobility work o:)

    Nice!

I had my first class back this year. It was great! We did some moving basics and kata. I could feel the December holiday though

Back to the gym today - starting to shift away from strength and more towards endurance training.

7 weeks until test and I am determined to be physically, mentally, and emotionally ready!
