I need to find a way of tracking my habits while my life routine changes completely (getting ready for a large move). I have a planner I made, have to use it more (tend to leave my list out). Lately I've been focusing more on adding to my evening routine or changing it to something I enjoy more.4 -

So excited for this fitness/health journey! I've been listening to the audiobook, Atomic Habits and I am HOOKED!
For January, I will put on my workout clothes/shoes after brushing my teeth in the morning and go for a walk.
I will meal prep after my shower on Sundays after my hike.5 -
Itโs good to see how others are doing. The ups and downs are a fact of life.
We all face our own obstacles, but our progress continues as long as we are consistent in our efforts to improve.

Happy Saturday! Finished my walk, finishing breakfast as I check in (it has become a habit ๐๐) and I'm feeling extremely blessed. One interesting thing I've noticed this week is that as my friends are noticing my new habit, they are wanting to do it too, which is awesome! What's not so awesome is that they would like me to change my routine to fit their plan ("oh, I couldn't get up and walk in the morning" or "I can't walk at that pace) I am proud of myself for setting boundaries and telling them I would be happy to walk with them whenever, but my morning walks/workouts are my time to reflect and set myself up for the day, so I would fly solo for that. It was well received and I did go out for a walk with my friend later in the day, which was a bonus. Its important to do what you know is best for you, and then help others. Kind of like the oxygen mask on an airplane...that's all the wisdom I have for a Saturday! Have a great weekend!6

Not going quite so smoothly on some of the (not shown here, were started ~ Jan 10th) after work / evening stuff. Unclear cues.
And not at all clear on how I will cue myself to get up from my desk regularly through the very-sedentary working hours. WAYYYYYYYYYYY too cold here to walk outside on lunch-breaks (Severe Cold Warning of multiple days only lifted Saturday morning, and forecast looks like it might well be back on Monday

I'd love to see what "progress on that knitting" looks like ..... I have two embroidery projects (one a beginner crewel picture and one a x-stitch bookmark) waiting in the wings for when this is finished. Both have been languishing for YEARS. Really happy with how I'm travelling. Meeting my habits and actually exceeding my weekend habit expectations.. I had a bit of a bad day with 1 of my habits on Friday as it was a stressfull day so I didnt track honestky but I didn't go too overboard with the food only a couple hundred over!!! Enjoy the rest of ur weekend guys!! Xox3 -

@BMcC9 I set regular reminders on my phone to get up and move every 2 hours. I put on some music and boogie to a couple of songs. If you have a Fitbit, you can set it up to get credit for 2 active hours.

@sewfast I know EXACTLY what you mean by crafter ADD .... I have two embroidery projects (one a beginner crewel picture and one a x-stitch bookmark) waiting in the wings for when this diamond kit is finished. Both have been languishing for YEARS. I will be taking the "just get ONE length of thread in per day" approach for starters. ๐งต
(we don't mention the needlepoint that has been languishing for DECADES .... and yes I DO know where all the yarns are for that one ๐งถ๐ )
And Diamond Painting (like any other kind of painting) is the kind of thing that you have to take "available wall space" into consideration for as well as work-surface .... OR make sure in advance that you have friends&family you could "make project-presents for" ๐๐๐ ....
Most of the ones my husband does are about 4 x the size of this one .... we are "considering moving to a larger house with more wall space" (not really ๐) ... or else switching to jigsaw puzzles ....(and this isn't even ALL of the finished ones ....)

A few years ago as part of my retirement Marie Kondo-ing of our home, I went through all of my art - finished or not.
I kept the ones I loved - finished or not. I put them in some nice cloth covered baskets Iโd re-purposed & labeled them.
I gave away the others & if they were not in good shape, I saved all the floss, reclaimed needle threaders, hoops, needles etc.
So here comes the good partโฆ!
A dear family member & friend is an excellent quilter who made a gorgeous quilt for my milestone birthday last year.
Her birthday is in a month! I was figuring out what to buy herโฆ
As I often do now, Iโll sometimes pull down a box just to make sure 1) I know whatโs in it & 2) see if we still need/want all of it.
Imagine
My joy when I found an *almost* completed crossstitch pattern dated 1991 in her color palette with a subject that is a love of hers.
I finished up one shell.
Have a small piece of another to do.
Then some faster small sections & a bit of outlining.
Then I just need to figure our who can frame it in time!!!
Iโm delighted that she is getting a homemade piece, too!

OK I finally got scared enough that I really figured out what I most needed to do.
Track everything to the gram (I had gotten looser over the past couple of months.)
I worked hard at this for about 5 days & got better, but still not to the perfect level I had done for years.
So I thought about what was tripping me upโฆ
Snacking on raw nuts.
So I looked back at when I last had to lose a couple of pounds to get back where I wanted.
I ate 4 times a day. I went back to that.
Still not quite thereโฆ
So, I realized B L D were fine. The culprit was

If you zoom in on the bottom edge of the "canvas" in this starting-out picture, you will see the instructions. You will also be able to see the little symbols in each square (one circle-gem or "drill" covers one little square) The colour key referred to is along the upper-left border. The craft is kinda like a cross between pointalist paint-by-number and fine mosaic onto a pre-stamped / pre-gummed surface. This one has 22 colors, and is 13.75" x 9.75" (30 x 40 cm) The ship-in-full-sail above is 60 x 90 and had ~ 26 shades of blue.

Mine too @MadisonMolly2017 and my Fitbit was set up to do this too. I find it really helps. I just wish I could tell the Apple Watch that Iโd prefer the regular prompt to cease at 5 am.

So far, back-to-work Before Breakfast is still working smoothly.
Not going quite so smoothly on some of the (not shown here, were started ~ Jan 10th) after work / evening stuff. Unclear cues.
And not at all clear on how I will cue myself to get up from my desk regularly through the very-sedentary working hours. WAYYYYYYYYYYY too cold here to walk outside on lunch-breaks (Severe Cold Warning of multiple days only lifted Saturday morning, and forecast looks like it might well be back on Monday

My Apple Watch reminds me 10 minutes before the hour to get up & walk a bit!
Mine too @MadisonMolly2017 and my Fitbit was set up to do this too. I find it really helps. I just wish I could tell the Apple Watch that Iโd prefer the regular prompt to cease at 5 am.

I thought over my habits again this Saturday, considered what I can work on no matter the surroundings.
1) 6am up, prayers, 1 cup of tea (be productive, journal etc)
2) don't eat yet; exercise before 10am
3) crafts after dinner
4) dishes after dinner
5) 8am floss and wash face, have tea (no snacking)
6) take notes on saved videos; turn off devices, read
7) in bed: pray, read, crochet2 -

OK I finally got scared enough that I really figured out what I most needed to do.
Track everything to the gram (I had gotten looser over the past couple of months.)
I worked hard at this for about 5 days & got better, but still not to the perfect level I had done for years.
So I thought about what was tripping me upโฆ
Snacking on raw nuts.
So I looked back at when I last had to lose a couple of pounds to get back where I wanted.
I ate 4 times a day. I went back to that.
Still not quite thereโฆ
So, I realized B L D were fine. The culprit was

So I decided to accept that need for food at that time as my 4th โmealโ & came up with the idea to weigh it out while I make my breakfast.
