    Good morning!

I think that Connie had a good birthday yesterday. We got to Red Lobster before 5:00. Usually, that is early, and can get right in. We were told that the restaurant only had four people working, and the wait would be an hour. So we tried a steak place, and people were waiting outside. Chili's next door said the wait was at least half an hour. So we went to another suburb. The Chili's there was closed except for takeout. Finally, we stopped at a Mexican restaurant that we like. Collin goes to church with the manager. He bought our meal! Five tries to find a place to eat is crazy. It is very hard to get enough staff in any of these places, so the wait lines are long. It was also a warm, sunny day. I think that everyone in the city was out and about yesterday.

Dave, congratulations on the new wheels! Connie and I both have a seat cover for pets that we purchased from Weathertech. They work great. https://www.weathertech.com/seat-protectors/?gclid=CjwKCAiAgvKQBhBbEiwAaPQw3BKF564th5X_1eRMivifoqB9-VanRiImiLZ2l-lw6aow3X7NiAbO4BoCWbwQAvD_BwE

I am going to do my best to get the year end closed this week. It has been a fight this year.

    Have a great day!

    Mornin' gents.

So glad you and Connie found a nice restaurant and got comped on the meal as well! Sweet.
New car smell can be intoxicating, even for dogs.
I think that this is the last time I will run this trial with Babe in VA. She has never done well at these trial grounds under a variety of judges. Not sure what it is, but it has been a jinx.
Good to be home. Now to unpack. Crashed as soon as I got through the door last night.
Still snow on the ground here.

    Be OP ;-)

    Good morning gentlemen.

    Sorry about the trial, Lee.

Hard to type with a large pup in my lap being affectionate.

There - she decided to get down. Now I have two hands.

Pouring rain, today. We have descended into "normal" weather for the season.

Volunteered to help decorate the church for Lent, this morning, then errands with DW. The friend who bought a dozen turned eggs from me says her mother wants some, too. So, I have a good reason to spend more time on the lathe, too.

    Good Morning

VA may be for lovers but apparently not for Babe

Beautiful day yesterday. We went for a 45 min walk yesterday around the neighborhood on a gorgeous warm day. Saturday my back was a wreck and Sunday I am walking 2 miles, no problem. It drives me nuts, but am grateful I am back to my normal achy self. I kept on cold meds all day to ease my breathing. TriTip was glorious last night. The day you explained the reverse sear in my Weber Kettle was a good one.

So glad you found an open restaurant for Connie and her b-day Steve!
Yup not sure what was up with Babe in VA Lee but I agree with ya!

Pouring rain cats and dogs and who knows what here too. Some minor flooding on one wetland trail over a rough hewn bridge deck. I expected more, but early in the morning it was about an inch and rising fast.

I love the reverse sear myself. Also doing a frozen sear works great too. With a frozen sear you don't want frost on the meat to interfere with the sear. I get some choice wagyu style beef that is vacuum sealed. No problem I can sear it in a cast iron skillet to my heart's delight and then finish it up in an oven or a BBQ/smoker set-up. I love both those techniques.
