Happy Friday everyone! Hope you all have a wonderful weekend! Speaking of weekends what do you do to keep your weekend eating in check? Eating out, spending time with family and friends and attending events is all part of the fun of weekends yet it does come with alot of temptation. What routines, habits or strategies have you got in place to keep you on track?5

ironic ... but "having a very limited social calendar / circle of friends" can almost be an advantage .... eating out and attending events was rare even BEFORE the start of Covid-times / Restricted-Bubble rules.
In general, weekends are my "inadvertent intermittent fast" days. By sleeping late, there are fewer (regular-portioned ) meals so the total calorie count is easy to keep down. Sometime have to add in "healthy afternoon snack/mini-meal" to arrive at a decent low-side caloric intake. IF is not something that I could routinely be happy with, though.8 -
@VickiSLaw - this is in response to your post yesterday. It sounds like you have more than your share or sorry and stress right now. You’re right though, doing what you can to be as strong and healthy as possible is so important. Hopefully everything works out.
@SummerSkier - being retired, I have to think about any day of the week that we eat out, or meet with friends, or go out and do something, as my weekend. I don’t have a handle on those “special” events. They’re not generally a total disaster, but I do tend to use them as an excuse to have a drink or two, eat more than I should, etc. And honestly, as long as I can keep it from escalating out of control, I’m ok with that. It’s one of those issues I’ve asked myself if I’m willing to completely give it up, and right now, the answer is no, although I know that could change later.7 -

Weekends aren’t much different to week days as I’m retired. We do visit my daughter on a Sunday once a fortnight, but I don’t worry about extras as I know that my weekly calories are generally below maintenance.3 -

Due to the age and proclivities of the two younger ones here and the crazy levels of supervision required, weekends, breaks, etc. are all basically lockdown at home. So for diet it's not hard to stay on track. Can't remember what socializing means. 🤪 During the week at lunch when school is miraculously in session is when I try to fit in dates with the wife or socialize with others. It's yet another break here currently, spring break, with an added two extra days off due to snow (again). I scheduled a week of vacation time off work to help as it's a minimum two person job. Between the winter break, COVID quarantine, a couple holidays, teacher in-service days and snow days, I think there have been well fewer than 20 days with the kids in school since mid December. It's a bit ridiculous. It will be nice if some year in the future I can take vacation time to relax, but it is what it is.3 -

The above describes me also. Since I retired my husband and I are having a more difficult time even remembering what day of the week it is (my husband retired 5 years ago.) My husband says, ¨everyday is the weekend now!¨ My husband goes out to eat for lunch with friends, usually two days a week. But for me my lunch with a friend is usually only once a month-- and those are always weekdays. I really am enjoying staying at home, having independent hobbies, and not making any commitments right now.
We are getting about to leave for a week long trip where we will probably be eating out twice a day. My plan is mostly salads and low carb meat dishes if there is nothing extra special that seems worth an indulgence.

March11 report: 🦁🦁🦁 (today's steps made up for yesterday's lack thereof ) rather stressful day at the office yesterday. Today was much better, and boss made clear that I was stressing too much about factors totally beyond my control (and outside his expectations for me)
Monthly report: (Documenting consistency (if there is a P instead of 🦁 its a Pass Day; if there is a ✈ I am overseas and [currently assuming] unable to report)

I had a no show massage client today, so I went for a walk to Walmart and back. Brrrr!
Unfortunately, another client brought me a "goodie bag" of dark chocolates (my fav!) and I wasn't able to turn them down. I'm ashamed to admit that I actually sat and ate the entire bag after they left!! As I was giving my last massage tonight, I believe that I could actually feel my blood sugar increasing!!
By the time I got home from work, I was beginning to feel sick to my stomach! I can't believe that I ate almost the whole bag.... and I can't remember the last time I've done something like that..... wow, now I'm going to have to spend the next several days trying to get off of sugar again!!! Ugh.
Ok, no more beating myself up.... tomorrow is a brand new day.8 -

For weekends, pre-logging my plan in the morning before life (urges) happen is important. It's important I make the plans realistic, too. The more realistic, the easier to stick with and stay on track.4 -
