I had a no show massage client today, so I went for a walk to Walmart and back. Brrrr!
Unfortunately, another client brought me a "goodie bag" of dark chocolates (my fav!) and I wasn't able to turn them down. I'm ashamed to admit that I actually sat and ate the entire bag after they left!! As I was giving my last massage tonight, I believe that I could actually feel my blood sugar increasing!!
By the time I got home from work, I was beginning to feel sick to my stomach! I can't believe that I ate almost the whole bag.... and I can't remember the last time I've done something like that..... wow, now I'm going to have to spend the next several days trying to get off of sugar again!!! Ugh.
Ok, no more beating myself up.... tomorrow is a brand new day.8 -

For weekends, pre-logging my plan in the morning before life (urges) happen is important. It's important I make the plans realistic, too. The more realistic, the easier to stick with and stay on track.4 -
Yes x3. Upper body strength. Weekends aren’t much different than weekdays so I just keep on trucking.4

As others have said, since I retired the weekends aren’t special any more. In fact, we often go out mid-week on purpose to avoid the crowds. Our theatre trips are usually mid-week, and we take coach holidays which are Monday to Friday,
In fact, we’re away this coming week – coach pickup on Monday am, then hotel dinners and breakfasts until Friday am. Lunches will be light snacks but still eaten out. I have prepared by being very careful over the last few days.

I have been reading everyone's entries but have not been writing. Three days of not having my normal morning routine and I'm all kerfuffled.
Let's catch up.
This is my learning month.

I have come to the conclusion that a good part of why I was so hungry is that my calorie goals weren't high enough! So I am going to adjust them today.
There was so many good posts the past few days and I have read them and reflected and I am sad that I am not going to have time to write in response to all of them.
Weekends are hard for me because I am with my kids - 6 and almost 10 - and their schedule doesn't match mine as well (for example, hard to fit in exercise, lunch is later than I want) and they are always eating food that I want to eat that doesn't fit my eating plan. And as we open up our covid restrictions and have the possibility of eating with others that also makes it harder. And we have made a ritual out of "takeout friday." So, yeah, weekends often go off the rails.
Some things that help:
- Preplanning
- Prepacking my own snacks
- Prepping my food in advance
- Trying to not sit with the kids for snack time (that's often a good time to prep food for the next thing)
- Trying to fit in exercise whenever I can
Just generally trying to remember that I can take care of myself too and that's OK and good and I should be grateful that I get to do it.
It's a work in progress!5 -

I’ve had a few times like that in the past…each food item was a Surprise + a Gift. One was at a friend’s house - she had some chocolates out. By hour 3.5, my resistance dropped. Ok I’ll have one. Carefully unwrapped & enjoyed. By the end, I had 4-5. Ok no problem.
Wrong: the next Xmas a box of 100 of them & they are Expensive.
Ditto Birthday (smaller container)
The one time I relax a little & this happened. I won’t do that again.
It’s always the Surprise + Gift that gets me.3 -

Protein was a tad high. Calories up by 10%.
I really shouldn’t eat a “real” dinner. I do better if I frame it in my kind as a snack.
