My goals for today:
- Don't overdue it (like I did yesterday)
- Eat at least 3 servings of fresh fruit/vegetables
- Do 10 seated leg raises with my good leg
- See if I can do any ab work at all
- Research anti-inflammatory plant based recipes
I'm stuck at home. I recognize you might not have as much time as I do for a list right now.1 -
Hope the surgery went well. Be safe and listen to your body and the doctors.
As for me nuclear imaging on my legs tomorrow to see where I go from here. Trying to use bikes and upper body weight exercises.

@pdacquaro23 Thank you so much. He couldn't repair it, so he did a partial meniscectomy. I took a moment to feel the disappointment, but now I'm refocused on recovery, and moving forward with it. I earned my brownie point today, even though I didn't do the research. Tomorrow I plan to (like you) work on some upper body stuff. Baby steps.
Thank you for the note! And, I hope you get good news tomorrow.0 -
Today's Goals:
- Do as much straight leg PT as feels comfortable
- Work your good leg somehow
- Do 50 crunches
- Choose and complete a Beach Body upper body/arms workout (P90x or P90x3)
- Intermittent fast: Noon-8 p.m. eating window
- Paint one more area of your mural

Hi! How did your imaging go? Prognosis?
In short, how are you doing?

Failed myself on this one. I ended up working from home more than I'd planned, which means I was sitting in my recliner on my computer for too long.
So, it's a new day! Which brings a new list:- Do that Beach Body upper body workout you'd planned on yesterday
- Do those 50 crunches you skipped out on yesterday
- Put away as much of the "recovery" gear as I you can (You don't need the rolling walker or knee elevation pillow, anymore, so store it! Someone in this house will need it again one day as we are an active family.)
- Paint an area of your mural
- Don't beat yourself up for not accomplishing yesterday's goals.
- Embrace the beautiful weather and be outside for at least 15 minutes in the sunshine today
I'm still waiting for someone (anyone) to post a short term goal!
Regardless, if you're reading this I know you're out there.
Thank you.

Just found my way here lol. Short term goal for last week was to make it through the week at work. I made it! I also saw a doctor last Monday who set into motion the next steps. I'll learn more tomorrow. 🤞2

Hi! Thank you for the update! I hope whatever's next with the doctor is a step in the right direction and something that gives you hope. Keep me updated!1 -
Was going to get a steroid injection tomorrow but 2000 dollars it's way over budget for me. Waiting to hear back about a chiropractor. I feel like this will never end.0

@impishme909 Here is a list of anti-inflammatory books/cookbooks I've seen on Amazon while searching.
I will get back with a list later tonight, but I am working late as my main mental health goal today & tomorrow is getting some dang book orders done for work that are way past deadline and stressing me like crazy-taking away precious exercise time.
For later though some knee highs and crunches and a minute plank!1 -

$2,000???!!!! WTAH?! Wow. That's awful. That was your actual doctor? Or a specialist? I'm so sorry. Living in acute pain is so bad.0 -
It was with a specialist. I've got a very high deductible so that's why my co pay was so high. Hopefully it'll all work out soon. I'm just going to think positive and believe that the injection wasn't going to be good for me. 😁

Well I got the knee highs done & some lunges (which i’m no good at/balance anymore). 3 book orders done, 3 to go, but smaller & almost done so hope to submit by today. I’ll get crunches & plank plus wall sit & a few other exercises done for 2 items I need done for a fitness challenge I’m in right now.
February wreaked havoc on my whole plan as I got sick first week and spent rest of month with super low white blood cell count (I take 2 immunosuppressants for my kidney transplant). So I had blood draws every week, was super tired (which derailed my exercise efforts) & given some new meds. One pentamadine replaced another & is an out patient at hospital procedure I have to do twice. My second round is tomorrow. I read up on drug and apparently it’s used a lot for transplant & leukemia/cancer patients. You do it in a closed room so no one else breaths it, one you inhale it & leave room they seal it for 2 hrs so no one else breaths any left over vapors in by accident (the room is vented).
@Allaesa72 I feel your pain-the bill statements I get are in the thousands-luckily I have 3 insurances. (One is mandatory-medicare because of CKD/ESRD-end stage renal disease prior to transplant. I pay for it, but it only lasts 2 1/2 more years-I’ve got a ways to go for normal qualifying age. Plus work through my insurance, I pay 1/2, & my husband’s insurance.) it’s a lot/possibly overkill, but I’m paranoid about the high bills being covered & even with that much it’s still a pain getting them to pay sometimes!🤦♀️ I have friends & family with less/worse/no insurance and it’s definitely hard if you get sick covering it all.
Goals for weekend-get outside for some exercise. Go for long walk to meet some step goals. Get in at least 3 hours of exercise (cardio, flex, strength) on Saturday & 2 on Sunday & eat healthier. Meeting a coworker friend Saturday for lunch-sh’s been out for 3-4 months from a foot surgery. She’s had this problem for several years and 2-3 surgeries to try to help it. Prior to that she was s spin instructor do it’s very frustrating for her, so I want to catch up and check in with her.
Probably should have posted this in other thread but daylight saving’s time week always throws me off on spring!🤣2
