WELCOME to all walkers!

May is now here! And it is time to start a another new monthly challenge!
Surely beautiful flowers and spring are finally here! What a nice time of the year to add in some outdoor walking also!

This group is open to any and all walkers. The majority of us use Leslie Sansone's Walk At Home method using DVDs or by streaming, as well as various other kinds of workouts. Other indoor choices might be the treadmill, other walking instructors, or strength 🏋️‍♀️, yoga 🧘‍♀️ or counting steps for example.

Outdoors there are also those walks or hikes on the trails or pathways that may be available to us, or a walk in our neighborhood. All of these many options count toward our steps, miles, or minutes. However you get your walk in, come on in and join us!

The goal that you choose is your own personal goal for this month, so If you find this group any time during the month it doesn't matter which day of the month that you join in. Just set your goals to reflect what you hope to accomplish during the remaining days of this month. It is never too late to join in, you are always welcome!

And now... let us lace up those walking shoes and get our water... and we will begin to walk into May of 2022!

    I've been MIA as I had lingering medical appointments, including oncology. My goal for may is to walk strong and healthy as many days as I can in preparation for surgery next month. I'm at a good goal weight, would love to lose a bit more fat and replace it with lean muscle before surgery if I can. I'm very Anxious and having some sleep trouble as of late with all the information and worry.

    I had a few weeks of Easter chocolate everyday but I'm back on track eating all the good nutrition now that I need to stay strong and healthy.

    Hope to check in most days this month with the group.

    I'm doing well with the 500 daily step increase for now. Some days more, some days less, but overall a countable increase. When it becomes more habitual, I'll increase another 500. My back and hips are protesting some days, but it's doable at this level with OTC assistance, and heating pads.
    Feels good to have finally made a start out of a long standing rut!

    Hi @mypinkbikini, I'm sorry to hear you are dealing with medical issues and have a surgery coming up, too. It's wonderful that you are at your goal weight and that you've decided to focus on infusing your body with good nutrients and building muscle. I will certainly keep you in my thoughts and prayers for your health and wellness! I don't know if you can take anything herbal, but I've been taking ashwagandha at night before bed, it helps the body be resilient against stress and the bonus is that it can also help with sleep. I am sleeping really good since I started taking it. Just thought I'd throw that out there. :flowerforyou:

    We have a heatwave starting this week. Highs will be in the 80's all week. 😳 So I definitely see some more walks this week.
