Made a farm call for a geriatric dog euthanasia Monday night. The owner, a lady breast cancer survivor and one of the strongest and kindest people I know, sat with her old boy Aesop inside the steps of the barn because it was raining outside. Farm cats were wandering around but kept their distance understanding the sober atmosphere. His litter mate was also nearby, her time is coming. It was a sad, but comfortable ending to a good long life of companionship and being a good farm dog. Suzy, the owner, and Aesop were still inside the barn door as I left. Suzy had quietly refused any further help.
High honors go to dogs like Emma, Tess, Aesop, Cooper, and Sarah Jane, but they eschew the pomp and circumstance for a nice quiet sit at the end.

Really enjoyed getting out in the forest, yesterday. Hiked 14 miles in the Olympic Mountains. That's my second home, I think.

- Lee, we would love to have you commit to the fall get-together. We really would. I promise to try to be on my best behavior, kinda.
- We have 2 different HOAs in our 'hood. The larger one that covers everyone and the smaller one that is for our villa neighborhood which is more condo like. The latter is having a meeting today. Joy.
- DW packed up Emma's stuff yesterday and gave it to a neighbor who has a small dog and also volunteers as the Oconee Regional Humane Society. Need to put the stuff to use.

Morning BBB
We are heading to the rail trail to ride today. It’s 60 miles round trip. 3% grade on the way out so should be a long but easy day. Several tunnels and bridges. I have lunch packed.

We've not even really discussed a wedding plan. He says small, just our kids, I'm good with that. Though a gtg with friends would be nice too?
I've upped my green foods game intake (think foids that are least calorie dense, with high nutrients)...results are #2, two times per day. And the scale is finally moving downward, too. Tracking is helping of course.
My stepgranddaughter is having her 15th bday party Sat. Oh boy, I'm thinking driver learners permit is right around the corner. Her gift of Nike Air max 90 sneakers arrived at my door this morning. My Ds2, her step-dad, says I spoil her. Of course I do!
The sun is out today oh boy, it may even hit mid 50's here. Seems the Wisconsin winters get longer and longer with a week of spring if we are lucky.ugghh
